Recall Alert! Your Baby's Favorite Rattle Ball Could Cause a Choking Hazard
Infant toy manufacturer Kids II has voluntarily recalled nearly 700,000 one of the most popular baby toys around, its Oball Rattle. The recall comes following 42 reports of the plastic disc breaking and releasing small beads, which includes two reports of beads found in children's mouths and three reports of gagging.
The Oball Rattles affected have 28 finger holes, one of which has a clear plastic disc with all orange beads embedded inside, and two of which have clear plastic discs with beads of varying colors. The rattles have a model number of 81031 printed on the inner surface of one of the plastic discs and on the packaging, and come in pink, blue, green and orange. The rattles also have a small date code located on a small triangle on the inner surface of the rattle - the codes included in the recall are as follows:
- T0486
- T1456
- T2316
- T2856
- T3065
The rattles were originally sold at Target, Walgreens, Walmart, and Amazon, among others, for $5 to $7 from January 2016 through February 2017. If you have a rattle affected by the recall, you should immediately take it away from your children and contact Kids II online or at 877-243-7314 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on business days to receive a full refund.
