Starbucks's New Cookie Butter Bar Tastes Like Happiness With Cream Cheese Frosting
Starbucks's newest dessert in its bakery case is made with one of the best spreadable substances on earth: cookie butter. The new Starbucks Cookie Butter Bar ($2) is made with gingerbread-like Speculoos cookies on the bottom, a layer of gooey cookie butter on top, followed by a layer of rich vanilla cream cheese frosting, and topped with crushed Speculoos cookies. It's buttery, crunchy, sweet, and tangy all at once.
Out of all the new foods and drinks Starbucks has released this year, including sous vide egg bites and Spring macchiatos, this is hands down our favorite item of the year so far. The thick layer of cream cheese frosting atop the buttery cookie spread and crunchy cookie bottom takes these bars over the edge. The next time you need a mid-afternoon latte and sweet treat, we recommend ordering your favorite grande caffeinated beverage and a Cookie Butter Bar (or two).
