A New Transportation System Has Been Confirmed at Disney, and It's a Game Changer
Prepare for liftoff, because there's a new gondola system coming to Disney World that will connect all of your favorite theme parks. The Orlando Sentinel obtained official documents from The Reedy Creek Improvement District confirming the hush-hush project that has been under speculation for months.
The documents show that the new gondola lift system will include six stations with three different lines linking Disney's Hollywood Studios, Epcot, Caribbean Beach Resort, and the lake area between Pop Century and the Art of Animation resorts. Each gondola car can seat up to 10 passengers, and it looks like this will revolutionize the way families travel between the parks. It's also a throwback to Skyway, a gondola attraction that existed at Disneyland from 1956 to 1994, Disney World's Magic Kingdom from 1971 to 1999, and Tokyo Disneyland from 1983 to 1998.
As the website points out, the cable cars do not take up a lot of space on the ground and are incredibly durable, making gondolas an ideal choice for the already crowded Disney parks. Disney has yet to officially confirm the reported aerial transportation system, but the documents obtained by the Sentinel were public permits. We can't wait to see how this turns out!
