OITNB's Jamie Denbo Calls Out Hollywood's Ageist Casting: "I'm Done With You Lizards"
Orange Is the New Black star Jamie Denbo is not here for Hollywood's sexist and ageist casting. The actress, who plays Ginsberg on the Netflix series, went on an epic rant on Wednesday to express her frustration with a recent casting call where she was told that she was "too old" to play the wife of a 57-year-old actor. In a series of heated tweets, she explained to her followers that the male star, who is considered an "American treasure," wanted his onscreen wife to be at most 38 years old, even though his real-life wife is at least 50.
I was just informed that at the age of 43, I am TOO OLD to play the wife of a 57 year old.

Oh, the characters also have an 18 year-old daughter. I am TOO OLD to be the mother of an 18 year-old.

The real wife of the 57 year-old actor is EASILY AT LEAST 50. But this fucker wants to be tv married to a 38 year-old -TOPS.

This is a FIRST marriage, btw. Not a re-wife. Which would make a little more sense.

While we applaud Jamie for fighting back, we can't help but wonder which Hollywood star she was referring to. But when a brave fan asked for names, she simply added that she didn't want to ruin it for everyone since he is an "American treasure." Yikes.
@Celiaceruolo Would love to. But I don't want to ruin this guy for you. He is an "American treasure".
