Pharrell Williams Missed the Met Gala Dress Code Memo - but His Wife Sure as Hell Didn't
Although Pharrell Williams is one of the Met Gala co-hosts this year, his wife, Helen Lasichanh, totally stole the spotlight on the red carpet. When the couple arrived, our jaws dropped at her over-the-top look: a voluminous bright-red jumpsuit of sorts with no apparent armholes (which made for some semi-awkward poses and quite the plethora of entertaining internet reactions). We've gotta hand it to her - she really stuck to the avant-garde theme of the evening, which is an ode to Comme des Garçons designer Rei Kawakubo.
Meanwhile Pharrell was chillin' in a plaid buttondown shirt, leather jacket, and ripped jeans, which seems a tad casual for the occasion. But hey, he did attach a handful of cool acrylic pins to his leather jacket; plus he had "REI" stitched on one knee of his jeans as a tribute to the famed designer, so we'll give him an A for effort.
