When scoping out destinations for an international trip, the Caribbean Sea is one of the first spots on the map to consider. The tiny islands that line the body of water boast some of the richest cultures and most beautiful beaches in the world. Luckily for me, I have the privilege of calling one of them home.
St. Lucia, also known as the Helen of the West Indies, may not always be the first island to come to mind when thinking of widely popular Caribbean destinations. But having my entire family hail from the island (and from firsthand experience), I can vouch that it is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful. The petite land is full of distinct culture, beaches, and attractions that you can only find within its span, making it the perfect destination for your next spontaneous getaway.
