Does your doctor get money from drug companies? It's not easy to find out
From speaking fees and research grants to travel expenses and consulting fees — there are a lot of ways doctors get extra money from the pharmaceutical industry. But what happens to patients, and the health-care system, if those payments add up to a conflict of interest?
