Lorde Apologizes For Comparing Her Friendship With Taylor Swift to an Autoimmune Disease
Lorde is currently facing some backlash for a candid comment she made about being a member of Taylor Swift's infamous friend group. While promoting her album Melodrama, the "Green Light" singer compared their high-class friendship to an autoimmune disease. Yes, really. "It's like having a friend with very specific allergies," she explained. "There are certain places you can't go together. Certain things you can't do. There are these different sets of considerations within the friendship. It's like having a friend with an autoimmune disease."
It didn't take long for Lorde to respond to the criticism when a a fan pointed out how Taylor's fellow friend Selena Gomez - who suffers from lupus - might feel about the disease comment. "didn't mention taylor, but regardless, i f*cked up & that was really insensitive," she tweeted. "i'm sorry."
