Clearly Amy Adams has never heard the quote "you can't go home again" before, because that's exactly what her character attempts to do in the mysterious first trailer for Sharp Objects. Adams stars in HBO's adaptation of the Gillian Flynn novel, which follows Camille Preaker, an emotionally unstable journalist who is sent to cover a string of murders in her hometown. Naturally, the journey unearths more than Camille bargained for, both physically and psychologically, especially when her estranged mother gets involved. Although we can't know for sure how closely the eight-episode miniseries will follow the book, the brief teaser looks promising. Patricia Clarkson, Chris Messina, and It's Sophia Lillis costar, and it will premiere sometime in July 2018.
