Did Yara Shahidi Just Declare Summer’s Biggest Hair Trend?
From afar, it looks like Yara Shahidi had gold dusted along her center part; but upon further inspection, you'll find she was wearing a braided middle part adorned with safety pins.
Shahidi's hairstylist Nikki Nelms is the mastermind behind the gilded braid. Nelms, aka the Hair MacGyver, is known for her creative use of craft store materials in her celebrity clients' hair (like these googly eyes on Janelle Monáe). She placed the pins on Shahidi's hairline all the way down to the end of her braid.
This is just one example of an accessorized braid - one of this season's biggest hair trends. Expect to see more and more woven hair looks that are decorated with pins, chains, and jewels pop up this Summer. See examples of the coolest braid trend ahead.
