What do you get when you mix a group of kindergartners, their weary teacher, a foul-mouthed TV personality, and, oh yeah, hordes of ravenous zombies? You get the beautiful combination of Shaun of the Dead and Life Is Beautiful that is Little Monsters.
The Australian zombie-comedy stars Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o as Miss Caroline, a kindergarten teacher chaperoning a field trip to a petting zoo. Of course, the petting zoo happens to be next to an army base (which is definitely weird real estate, but go off, Aussies), and when a failed military experiment results in a zombie outbreak, Miss Caroline has to keep her wits about her to ensure she and her students stay alive. Josh Gad joins Nyong'o as a children's TV personality with possibly the most relatable attitude toward the oncoming invasion, and Alexander England stars as the field trip's slacker chaperone.
Watch as the three adults attempt to keep the kids from discovering their potential doom (well, Gad definitely doesn't do much helping) in the trailer above. Little Monsters is slated for a Nov. 15 release in the UK, but will begin streaming on Hulu on Oct. 10 in the US.
