Watch Alicia Keys Host Nickelodeon's Kids, Race and Unity: A Nick News Special Right Now

Update: Kids, Race and Unity: A Nick News Special aired on June 29. You can watch the full special, which was hosted by Alicia Keys, in the video above!
Original Story: Five years after its finale, Nick News is returning with a 60-minute special hosted by Alicia Keys, called Kids, Race and Unity: A Nick News Special. The presentation's intent is to amplify the voices of Black children across the country, highlight teen activists fighting racial injustice, and feature the leaders of the Black Lives Matter movement, who will answer kids' questions and share tips and tools for parents to be able to foster meaningful conversations about race in their homes. Kids, Race and Unity: A Nick News Special, which premieres on June 29 at 7 p.m. local time, will be "the first of a series of Nick News specials that will air on Nickelodeon in the coming months."
"I've had a vision of a forum that can engage kids during this time and help to focus our attention on how they might be feeling, and this Nick News special is it!" Alicia said in a press release. "Talking about race can be sensitive and uncomfortable; and sometimes we try to protect our children from racism they are already experiencing. But honestly, there is no way around this topic if we want to move forward in any kind of meaningful way. What's happening in the world is not just a problem for the Black community, it's all of our problem and we ALL have to care about it in order to change it! This is such an important, vulnerable, honest and beautiful conversation, and I know many families may be searching for the right way to enter it. Let's really deep dive together."
In the special, Alicia will host discussions with the cofounders of Black Lives Matter, 12-year-old singer Keedron Bryant, author Ibram X. Kendi, the six Nashville teens who founded Teens4Equality, social media star Tabitha Brown and her family, and family therapist Dr. George James. Additionally, antiracism resources provided by Dr. James and The Conscious Kid will be made available to parents on Nick's website after the show airs.
