Kate Middleton Looks Totally at Ease While Drinking Guinness and Chatting With Soldiers
Kate Middleton got into the St. Patrick's Day spirit by enjoying a cold glass of Guinness during a visit to the Cavalry Barracks on Friday. Kate and Prince William met with soldiers of the 1st battalion Irish Guards after attending the St. Patrick's Day parade in London, where they presented the Guardsmen (as well as The Regimental mascot, a massive Irish Wolfhound) with shamrocks. Kate, who was clad in a bespoke dark green Catherine Walker coat, sipped on her beer while chatting with the soldiers; maybe they were trading Irish coffee recipes or discussing Ed Sheeran's new album?
It's kind of nice that Kate is getting her chance to kick back and enjoy a beer, as William appeared to do plenty of that during his recent controversial ski trip in the Swiss Alps. The boys-only getaway got the prince in a bit of hot water, as it was revealed that he took the trip in favor of attending an annual ceremony for Commonwealth Day in the UK with the rest of his family. Kate was reportedly "disappointed" in William's behavior during the trip, with a source telling Vanity Fair, "She thought his partying days and larking around with the boys was a thing of the past."
Bask in the Glory That Is Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell's Relationship Evolution
Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn are undeniably one of Hollywood's most inspiring and well-loved couples. They began dating in 1983, share four children - Kate and Oliver Hudson and Wyatt and Boston Russell - and have become a picture-perfect example of the contemporary blended family, eschewing marriage in favor of a non-formal commitment. When asked about why she and Kurt haven't tied the knot, Goldie said, "The question is, 'Why (get married)?' It's not, 'Why not?' We love each other. We fight the way people are supposed to fight. We love our lives together."
In addition to building a family, they've both established storied separate careers and have also starred together in three films - The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band, Swing Shift, and Overboard, which they recently watched for the first time ever. Goldie tweeted out about the date night, saying, "Kurt n I snuggled up and watched Overboard together. The first time we have seen it all the way thru since it came out. Now that's Romance." In honor of their epic relationship, we've roundup up the best pictures from Kurt and Goldie's decades-long courtship - scroll through to see them all now.
13 Ways to Refresh Your Florals For Spring
Remember the scene in The Devil Wears Prada where Miranda Priestly deadpans, "Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking"? While we don't necessarily agree with that statement 100 percent (hey, when better to wear colorful floral prints?), they can get a little repetitive and feel worn out. A great alternative to this dilemma? Vacation prints - think palm tree leaves, beachy stripes, and fun prints like flamingos.
Since vacations are meant to put you in a relaxed state of mind, we say your wardrobe should say the same thing, too. Leave the form-fitting dresses and flowery prints at home and update your wardrobe with these 13 pieces that say you're out of office, even if you're not actually lounging at a resort.

Gordon Ramsay's Badass Tip For Making the Very Best Burgers
Image Source: Getty Images / Ethan Miller
Gordon Ramsay knows his sh*t, especially when it comes to classics. I trust him with my life when it comes to scrambled eggs and I'm about to do the same for his method on burgers. While at a press event to promote his new cooking game with Glu Mobile, Gordon joked, "The last time I was this ambitious was opening up my burger restaurant in Las Vegas, because you're doomed to come over as a Brit and attempt to open a burger restaurant in the middle of Las Vegas."
Image Source: Getty Images / Bryan Steffy
Here's where Chef Ramsay gets to the meaty part: "But we perfected the patty, and we basted it in Devonshire butter, and brought something new in. We toughened up the brioche buns so it could absorb all that butter . . ." Do you remember the Jack-In-The-Box Buttery Burger? Yeah, yeah, we all thought America had gone to hell and back until we took a bite and became believers. Quite simply, fat makes things taste better, and Gordon Ramsay definitely knows that. In case you are worried you can't procure Devonshire butter at your local grocery store, opt for a cultured butter like this one from Trader Joe's. It's salty and has a slightly funky cheese flavor. Baste the hell out of that burger for optimum flavor! And secondly, raise your hand if your bun has disentegrated within five minutes of placing the patty on it. Gordon has such an obvious yet uncommon solution: use a tougher bread! While a homemade brioche bun may be out of the question, consider a sturdy pretzel bun.

Why Grandmas Usually Notice Signs of Autism First - Even Before Parents
Even if parents think they know their kids better than anyone, that doesn't mean that grandparents don't know more.
According to a new study, moms and dads aren't typically the first ones to recognize symptoms of autism in their children. Research found that it's actually grandmothers who tend to spot symptoms first - before others even realize or admit that there might be something going on.
A group of doctors in New York conducted the study and discovered that kids who have frequent interactions with their grandparents can be diagnosed with autism sooner - by up to five months. The researchers explain that this is important because accelerated detection allows for earlier treatments.
Not only were parents questioned during the study, but friends and family members as well. Of those who participated, 50 percent reported that they picked up on behavior related to the autism spectrum disorder before the child's parents. Although maternal grandmothers were the most likely to have serious concerns first, only 25 percent of parents reported that others had concerns before they did.
"Many parents avoid seeking help to find a diagnosis for their child, even though they sense something might be wrong," Dr Nachum Sicherman, a professor of business at Columbia Business School, told Futurity. "They often ignore signs of a larger problem and look the other way, making the role of close family members and friends vital to accelerating diagnosis and helping a child's condition."
The study also found that interaction with grandfathers can reduce the age of diagnosis by almost four months, and that only children are diagnosed between six and eight months earlier while youngest children are diagnosed 10 months earlier than the oldest child.

Dad's "Mouse Trap"-Esque Gender Reveal Is Going to Blow Your F*cking Mind
Holy sh*t is all I can say right now, y'all. This Rube Goldberg machine gender reveal, which took Dude Dad Vlog's Taylor Calmus and his friends three days to set up, is going to blow your f*cking mind.
"It's March 12, 2017 - we're about to find out the gender of Theo's little brother or sister," Taylor starts the epic video. "It's been about three days setting this up and me and all my best friends are super tired." After the short introduction, Theo is set in his crib and tasked with knocking his sippy cup off the ledge to begin a house-wide chain reaction that ends in a pink or blue surprise.
From baby powder swinging like a tether ball around a lamp to knock a car down a ramp to a golf ball running down a long track to set off a leaf blower that would push another golf ball into a row of dominoes, these guys literally used every household object and an insane measure of ingenuity to pull this thing off. We won't ruin the ending for you, but we promise: this is the coolest damn way to reveal a baby's gender that you've ever seen.
Blast Fat, Build Strength: 60-Minute Calorie Meltdown
Burn 60 - Reese Witherspoon's a fan, and it shows. By combining high-intensity intervals on the treadmill with serious strength work, this 60-minute class targets every muscle group in the body while never letting the heart rate drop. Hard? Yes. Fun? Totally.
Unfortunately, to get to an actual class, you need to be in LA. Luckily, Burn 60 trainers Michelle Lovitt and Anna Renderer made it easy for us. They simplified the studio workout just a tad, developing a perfect routine that can be used anywhere. Whether you take it to the gym, with you on your next business trip, or adapt it to an outdoor run, you'll be OK to sweat and bid farewell to hundreds - and hundreds - of calories! Let this be the perfect start to your weekend.
You'll begin the workout with the cardio section before moving on to strength, then repeat for a total of three times.
Cardio
Determine your fitness level (walk, run, or jog) and repeat the three-minute cycle a total of three times. Adjust speeds as necessary, but keep in mind that the fast section of the workout should feel like you are at your max capacity, and the easy speed should still keep the heart rate elevated. After running through the cycle three times, end with a one-minute cooldown at the speed of your easy pace. Total minutes performed: 10. Then quickly move on to the strength section!
Walkers
- One minute easy (speed 3.5)
- One minute moderate (speed 4.0)
- One minute fast (speed 4.5)
Joggers
- One minute easy (speed 4.5-5.0)
- One minute moderate (speed 5.5-6.5)
- One minute fast (speed 7.0-8.0)
Runners
- One minute easy (speed 6.0-7.0)
- One minute moderate (speed 7.5-8.5)
- One minute fast (speed 9.0-10.0)
Strength
Keeping the heart rate elevated will help build endurance and increase calorie burn. This circuit aims to do that while also working every muscle group of the body. Repeat the below strength-training circuit twice for a total of 10 minutes.
Exercise | Reps | Notes and Tips |
---|---|---|
Side Plank Leg Lift | 10 reps on each side | Keep your waist up and lifted. |
Jump Squats | 20 reps | Use your whole foot to jump, not just your toes. |
Triceps Dips | 15 reps | If you don't have a bench, do them on the ground. |
Burpees | 10 reps | If needed, modify by taking out the jumps. |
Bicycle Crunches | 30 reps | Focus more on your form than speed. |
Play around with how many times you want to run through the cardio and strength sets, but to have a true Burn 60 experience, repeat the above three times. Here's what it should look like:
Time | Section |
---|---|
0:00-10:00 | Cardio |
10:00-20:00 | Strength |
20:00-30:00 | Cardio |
30:00-40:00 | Strength |
40:00-50:00 | Cardio |
50:00-60:00 | Strength |

47 Trends Every '80s and '90s Girl Remembers
Between listening to new wave and boy bands and staring at our posters of Rob Lowe, Leonardo DiCaprio, and JTT, we somehow managed to style ourselves up in acid-washed jeans, biker shorts, jellies, and other semihorrific pieces way back when. Even though we shudder to think of some of the things we wore, many of those styles have come back with a vengeance (chokers and slip dresses are everywhere, and we all remember where we were the day American Apparel started selling scrunchies). Since there's nothing we love more than a fashion flashback, we've rounded up 47 of the biggest and best trends to come out of the '80s and '90s. Look through now to relive your fashion past.
Every Shocking, Tumultuous Moment From Prince Charles and Princess Diana's Marriage
Image Source: Getty / Anwar Hussein
Although season one of Ryan Murphy's Feud is just barely upon us, FX has already renewed the drama for a second season, and it's going to be a doozy. Titled Feud: Charles and Diana, season two will follow the tumultuous marriage of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana, who were married from 1981 to 1996. Diana - whose legacy still lives on in her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry - died in a tragic car accident in August 1997 with her partner, Dodi Fayed, whom she began dating after the end of her and Charles's 15-year marriage. Before their divorce, however, their troubled relationship was the subject of plenty of tabloid speculation.
The Early Years
On Feb. 24, 1981, Diana and Charles announced they were engaged after meeting four years earlier while Charles dated Diana's older sister, Lady Sarah McCorquodale. It seemed that their union was off to a shaky start from the get-go. There were reports that Sarah was deeply unhappy that the prince had decided to marry Diana instead, but Diana's biographer Andrew Morton later refuted the claim, saying the sisters remained quite close. On top of that, Charles had a puzzling response to the question of whether or not they were truly in love during a postengagement interview with reporters. "Of course!" Diana responded, before Charles said, "Whatever 'in love' means." Many thought Charles appeared rigid and stuck-up during the segment, clearly not thrilled to be there.
In July of that same year, the two wed in an elaborate ceremony at St. Paul's Cathedral in London. The event saw more than 600,000 people flooding the streets to get a glimpse of the 20-year-old "People's Princess," who was the first commoner to marry into the British royal family for 300 years. Sadly, a fairy-tale wedding does not equal a fairy-tale ending. After the couple welcomed their first son, Prince William, in 1982 and then Prince Harry two years later, their relationship began to fall apart.

The Affairs
By the early '90s, rumors of infidelity began popping up in tabloids across the world. Charles and Diana went on their last official trip together in October 1991 to Ontario, Canada, accompanied by their sons, and a few months later, Morton's book Diana: Her True Story was released. It was immediately clear that Diana and her family had worked with the author directly, contributing not only family photographs but also deeply personal revelations. Diana opened up about her five suicide attempts (one of which happened during her pregnancy with William, after she suspected Charles was cheating on her) and Charles's longstanding extramarital affair with Camilla Parker Bowles.
On Aug. 23, 1992, "Squidgygate" erupted. The Sun published a front-page article about the contents of a secretly recorded audio tape of a conversation Diana had with childhood friend James Gilbey (whose nickname for her was "Squidgy") on New Year's Eve 1989. Their chat included confessions about how miserable she was with Charles ("He makes my life real torture, I've decided") and about her strained relationship with Queen Elizabeth II. A few months later, British tabloids leaked a tape of a flirty recorded phone conversation between Charles and Camilla that confirmed their affair. Dubbed "Camillagate" by the press, the tapes included statements from Charles like "Oh god. I'll just live inside your trousers or something. It would be much easier!" and a joke about him wanting to be Camilla's "Tampax" (which is why the situation is also referred to as "Tampongate").
By December 1992, the royal family could no longer hide the fact that Diana and Charles's marriage was in shambles. Prime Minister John Major publicly announced the pair's "amicable separation" at the House of Commons, reading off an official statement from the royal family. A year later, Charles was rumored to be having an affair with personal assistant Tiggy Legge-Bourke, and Diana faced down reports of a relationship with former cavalry officer James Hewitt, whom she'd hired as a horseback riding instructor for her, William, and Harry.

Damage Control
With his public image tarnished by "Camillagate," Prince Charles agreed to an interview with Jonathan Dimbleby in June 1994. He readily admitted that Camilla was his mistress but said they only entered into an extramarital relationship after his marriage to Diana had "irretrievably broken down, us both having tried" in 1986. By January 1995, Camilla had split from husband Andrew Parker Bowles, and in March, their divorce was finalized.
In November 1995, Diana chose to tell her side of things in her first solo interview. While sitting down with the BBC's Martin Bashir, she didn't mince words when asked about Charles and Camilla: "There were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded." On top of that (as well as an acknowledgment of her struggle with bulimia), Diana also copped to her own infidelity, which "plunged the monarchy into the greatest crisis since the abdication" (a reference to King Edward VIII's choice to abandon the throne in 1936 so he could marry divorced American socialite Wallis Simpson). She confirmed her five-year romance with James Hewitt - who at that point had released a tell-all book about their relationship called Princess in Love - saying, "Yes, I adored him. Yes, I was in love with him. But I was very let down."
The Divorce
Needless to say, the royal family was not pleased with Diana airing all of their dirty laundry to the public. Not even a month passed after Diana's interview before her press secretary resigned and Queen Elizabeth II sent her and Charles a letter requesting that they divorce immediately, a move unprecedented at the time. On Aug. 28, 1996, Charles and Diana's divorce was finalized. Sadly, the paparazzi's interest in 36-year-old Diana only grew with each scandal, an obsession that eventually led to her fatal car crash in 1997 (the car's driver was attempting to elude photographers in Paris when he crashed the vehicle).
Feud: Charles and Diana is set to air sometime in 2018, so hopefully Ryan Murphy uses this time to make sure they nail every detail.

Why Disney's "Exclusively Gay Moment" Doesn't Deliver at All
Warning: this post contains implied homosexual spoilers.
Recently, news broke that the new live-action Beauty and the Beast would feature its first openly gay character. The film's director, Bill Condon, confirmed the info in Attitude's April issue: "LeFou [Josh Gad] is somebody who on one day wants to be Gaston [Luke Evans] and on another day wants to kiss Gaston . . . [it] has its payoff at the end, which I don't want to give away. But it is a nice, exclusively gay moment in a Disney movie." While the announcement led to inevitable backlash from some, others called into question this claim that LeFou would be Disney's "first" openly gay character. Let me tell you, after seeing the film, the skepticism was well placed. In fact, not only is LeFou decidedly not an openly gay Disney character, but the "exclusively gay moment" hardly earns that distinction.
Before we dive into the minutiae of the problem, let me explain how this "exclusively gay moment" goes down. The first thing the film attempts to do is establish that LeFou is attracted to men. The musical number "Gaston" does the bulk of the legwork here, giving LeFou effeminate dance moves and mannerisms. At one point, he hugs Gaston a little too tightly for a little too long and asks, "Too much?" Finally, at the end of the song, Gaston asks why LeFou hasn't been snatched up by a woman, he says, "I've been told I'm . . . clingy." Which seems like a non sequitur.
The filmmakers felt the need to introduce a second gay character, but who? After all, Gaston is an unattainable heterosexual man who would never in a million years return LeFou's obvious affection. This means his only option is another person in the town: Stanley, one of the bar patrons that LeFou mentions by name while singing. Stanley is already clearly designated as a "gay" character in the most shallow sense. He's better looking than all the other patrons, his hair is perfectly coiffed, and he's immaculately dressed, complete with a neck scarf flourish.
Hm, which one of these men could Stanley be?
To further "confirm" Stanley's sexuality, we get another moment during the epic fight scene at the end when the townspeople descend on the castle and clash with all the enchanted furniture. Madame de Garderobe, the opera singer who has transformed into a wardrobe, attacks the same three men by covering them in an avalanche of clothing, ribbon, and wigs. As a gag, the trio is suddenly glammed up in flawless makeup and full ballgowns. While two of them men are upset by the drag, Stanley is visibly thrilled, so much so that he strikes a sassy pose. Madame Garderobe encourages him to go forth and proudly be himself, in so many words. Stanley trots gleefully down the stairs and exits the castle.
So when does our "exclusively gay moment" happen? At the very end, there's a ball to celebrate the "happily ever after" of Belle and her prince. We can see LeFou has a female dance partner on the dance floor, but everyone switches and he winds up dancing with Stanley. The two look at each other, for a beat, and then we cut to another couple. That's it. Are you sensing any problems here? Allow me to make a few statements:
- Dressing well and styling your hair does not make you gay.
- Wearing women's clothes does not make you gay.
- Enjoying drag culture does not make you gay.
- Dancing with someone of the same gender at a party does not make you gay.
- Dancing with someone of the same gender at a party is not a "gay moment."
The issue is that Disney believes these are proper ways to establish sexuality and romance between characters. In reality, an individual's homosexuality is not confirmed unless they explicitly mention their romantic attraction to individuals of the same gender. Before you suggest there's no place for something like this in a Disney movie, consider how freely Gaston voices his attraction to Belle. Why doesn't LeFou ever admit he's attracted to Stanley, or vice versa? Are they even attracted to each other, or are they just shoved together because they're both gay? Why, when Gaston asks about his experience with women, doesn't he somehow suggest he's never been romantically inclined toward them? Why couldn't LeFou and Stanley peck on the lips or say something undeniably gay in their "exclusively gay moment" together?
In reality, Disney has left the moment and the characters' sexual identities buried in the subtext. And this is not groundbreaking representation for the LGBTQ community. In fact, as the internet has duly noted, there are plenty of implicitly gay characters in Disney history. Judging by how groundbreaking they thought this whole ordeal would be, though, we're quite far from a Disney character who exclaims, "I'm gay!" and kisses another same-gendered Disney character. Strap in, it's going to be quite a while before our gay "happily ever after."
Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Hilarie Burton Are So Damn Cute It's Almost Annoying
Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Hilarie Burton have been together since 2009, but they tend to keep their romance pretty private. Aside from the occasional red carpet outing, these two don't step out together too often. But when they do, they always have a good time (like, a really good time). In addition to the Walking Dead actor constantly goofing around and making Hilarie laugh, the One Tree Hill actress frequently plants sweet kisses on her man (and that nuzzling in his neck? FORGET ABOUT IT). The pair, who welcomed son Augustus in March 2010, are so protective of their personal life that they've never confirmed if they're married or not (they probably are). While it can sometimes get annoying when couples are overly gushy in public, these two are just so damn cute because they genuinely seem like best friends. Keep reading to see what we mean.
The 1 Change Prince William and Kate Middleton Made to Their Wedding Vows
Prince William and Kate Middleton said their "I dos" in a gorgeous ceremony at Westminster Abbey in London in April 2011. There were so many beautiful moments to behold from their big day, but one that really had us in tears was when the couple recited their wedding vows. While Will and Kate exchanged traditional wedding vows from the Book of Common Prayer, they made one slight tweak - they removed the word "obey." The first royal bride to drop the word was William's late mother, Princess Diana, who omitted it when she married Prince Charles in 1981. Check out their wedding vows in full below.
Archbishop: "William Arthur Philip Louis, wilt thou have this woman to thy wedded wife, to live together according to God's law in the holy estate of matrimony? Wilt thou love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health; and, forsaking all other, keep thee only unto her, so long as ye both shall live?"
Prince William: "I will."

O Eternal God, Creator, and Preserver of all mankind, giver of all spiritual grace, the author of everlasting life: send thy blessing upon these thy servants, this man and this woman, whom we bless in thy name; that, living faithfully together, they may surely perform and keep the vow and covenant betwixt them made, whereof this ring given and received is a token and pledge; and may ever remain in perfect love and peace together, and live according to thy laws; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Those whom God hath joined together let no man put asunder. For as much as William and Catherine have consented together in holy wedlock, and have witnessed the same before God and this company, and thereto have given and pledged their troth either to other, and have declared the same by giving and receiving of a ring, and by joining of hands; I pronounce that they be man and wife together, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen. God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Ghost, bless, preserve, and keep you; the Lord mercifully with his favor look upon you; and so fill you with all spiritual benediction and grace, that ye may so live together in this life, that in the world to come ye may have life everlasting. This Daddy-Daughter Date Night at Beauty and the Beast Will Melt Your Heart
Seen at local theater tonight
Going to the movies with dad - especially when there's a new magical Disney remake playing - can be an exciting outing for any kiddo. But one parent went above and beyond to make his little girl's night an enchanting memory.
Not only did this adorable father encourage his little princess to wear a Belle-inspired dress when they saw Beauty and the Beast on opening night, but he also matched her look by showing up dressed as the Beast.
Imgur user macaujoh2012 took a snapshot of the adorable duo strolling through the movie theater in their perfect ensembles, and the heartwarming snapshot is going viral as an example of "quality dadding."
You'll Never Believe These Quotes Actually Came From Kids' Mouths
One New York City teacher has been using social media to share the thoughts, comments, and questions that her little scholars pose on a daily basis - and the results are hilarious.
In 2014, the quote sharing began on the Live From Snack Time Twitter account, and since then, with the help of a graphic designer friend, the teacher has turned the quotes into graphics, which have blown up on Instagram.
"We knew parents and teachers could relate to these priceless kiddie moments, but it took off more than we could have imagined," she told POPSUGAR Moms. The duo's favorite part of the process is going through the thousands of daily submissions and seeing that the way children develop and process thoughts is extremely similar all over the world.
"Above all, Live From Snack Time was created to highlight the minds of kids and to help adults understand their thought process. I encourage teachers and caregivers to take these questions and comments very seriously, as we are their 'life tour guides.' Adults could even learn from their honesty and quick responses; I learn all day long! My partner and I are happy to bring the world some joy, really reaching all different demographics. Kiddie humor is something we have all experienced!"
Read through to see some of the hysterical graphics - we can't wait to see what Live From Snack Time turns out during these first few weeks back at school!
Luke Evans Looks So Good in Beauty and the Beast, You'll Forget He's the Villain
After much anticipation, Disney's live-action Beauty and the Beast is almost here. As its title would suggest, the film is full of beautiful things: dazzling sets, captivating scores, and Luke Evans. Yes, we know he's playing the villainous Gaston, but who can deny that manly physique and devilish grin? His character may be a total womanizer, but there's no denying those good looks. Evans even admitted that he wanted the audience to see Gaston as a "lovable rogue" before he turns into a complete bad guy. So, if you felt conflicted swooning over Gaston in the film, this post is for you.

Hero Bus Driver Rescues 5-Year-Old Boy Wandering the Streets at Night
After midnight in the early hours of Jan. 29, Denise Wilson was rounding a corner on her city bus route when she spotted a young boy wandering the street dressed in short pajamas and socks. The Milwaukee County Transit System bus driver pulled over in the under-31-degree weather, and the rest of her heroic action was caught on the bus's surveillance recording.
"It's after midnight, so I'm just like, 'Am I really seeing what I'm seeing?'" Denise told WISN-TV. "He came out of nowhere. I just happened to look over and heard him crying."
In the video footage, Denise can be seen carrying the 5-year-old boy onto the bus and putting him down so he could go sit. Later, you can hear her ask him if he's OK and if he's still cold, followed by her grabbing her own jacket and wrapping the boy in it. She sat with the boy, gave him a snack, and called the police, whose report said that the boy was reunited with his family that night and it was determined he "left the house by mistake."
"I'm happy I made that stop . . . " Denise said. "A lot of times we try to do what's right when we see something happening, and if we're there to help and have the ability or means to do it, that's what we're supposed to do, so I don't look at it as being a hero - just being there to help."
This Is How All Your Favorite Chefs Make Scrambled Eggs
One of the most basic recipes everyone learns is scrambled eggs, but the truth is perfectly scrambled eggs are a lot trickier than they seem. Much like the classic omelet, scrambling eggs is one cooking method on which many chefs differ. To whisk in a bowl or in the pan? To add dairy or to not? Minor tweaks can make huge differences in something so basic, and we guarantee you'll want to change up your scrambled egg routine with tips from these experts - they know a thing or two about recipe developing. Here's how some of our favorite chefs scramble their eggs (we're not kidding when we say Gordon Ramsay's method is a game changer).
Alton Brown: Whisk With Whole Milk
Simple yet effective is the name of the game in Alton Brown's scrambled egg recipe. Adding whole milk isn't his only tip, though. "Odds are you're going to be serving these on a plate. If so, I strongly suggest you park an ovensafe one in a low oven or in hot water while you're cooking. Cold plates suck the heat right out of food," his recipe description reads.
Anthony Bourdain: Skip the Dairy
Anthony Bourdain doesn't condone adding milk or cream to scrambled eggs - or anything, for that matter. "I just don't feel that milk or cream adds anything. I believe that a scrambled egg is principally about the egg," the Appetites author says in a video about the best way to cook scrambled eggs. Anthony's other pro tip is to be careful not to overbeat the eggs; you want some white parts remaining. He cooks them in a heated pan with warm, foaming butter and carefully pushes them around in a figure-eight pattern to create soft folds.
Giada De Laurentiis: Frittata Cupcakes
Giada's preferred method of scrambling eggs involves a mini muffin tin - she likes to make frittata cupcakes. She told POPSUGAR in an interview, "I love making my little cupcakes - frittata cupcakes. I just stick whatever's left in the fridge. Whatever it is that was from the night before, whether it's leftover pasta, leftover meat, leftover vegetables . . . Another favorite is lox, scrambled eggs, and peas - for a little color. For a Sunday morning, it's one of my favorite go-to breakfasts."
Gordon Ramsay: Low and Slow (With a Secret Ingredient)
Gordon Ramsay's scrambled eggs recipe is one everyone must try at least once. The finished product looks more like custard, and thanks to his cooking method and a secret ingredient, they're melt-in-your-mouth good.
Paula Deen: With Water and Vidalia Onions
"We can't operate without Vidalia onions around here," Paula Deen said of her scrambled eggs in an interview with POPSUGAR. In addition to caramelized onions, Paula adds a splash of water to her eggs. "Water doesn't make it as tough as milk," she says. The real kicker, though, is to scramble the eggs in both butter and bacon fat to get the most flavor.
Chrissy Teigen: "Cheesy" Eggs, Hold the Cheese
Chrissy Teigen swears by her method of creating "cheesy" eggs without the cheese, thanks to her secret ingredient: heavy cream. Her tip for getting them as creamy as possible with no browned spots? "Don't stop gently stirring and scraping (edges and all) for more than a few seconds!"
The Pioneer Woman: Smoked Salmon and Chives
Like most Pioneer Woman recipes, this one sounds delightful. Calling them the "best scrambled eggs ever", Ree Drummond suggests sprinkling in chopped smoked salmon after the eggs are cooked and then garnishing with chopped fresh chives.
Mario Batali: Topped With Shaved Truffle
Leave it to Mario Batali to bring some serious culinary chops to such a basic recipe. To make scrambled eggs special, Mario suggests adding mascarpone or parmesan cheese, but to make them "spectacular," garnish with shaved truffle.
Katie Lee: Back to Basics
Food Network host Katie Lee has a strictly back-to-basics approach to scrambled eggs. She melts butter in a skillet and cooks the eggs low and slow. "It is important to keep the heat low when cooking eggs so as not to burn them," Katie told POPSUGAR in an interview.
You Won't Be Able to Stop Watching This Video of Molten Metallic Highlighter
In May 2016, gleaming goddess Jaclyn Hill and the highlighter masters behind Becca Cosmetics teamed up for their second collaboration: an entire collection of champagne-inspired goodies. As a spinoff on the first partnership (the cult-status Champagne Pop highlighter), the launch included a new illuminator known as Prosecco Pop. The shade was inspired by molten gold and immediately garnered a powerful fanbase. However, since the collection was limited-edition, those fans were concerned it'd be nearly impossible to track down Prosecco Pop in months to come.
Happily, the Becca team recently announced that the magically metallic formula would be permanently added to the brand's range of highlighter shades. Even better, they created it in two additional textures - liquid and cream. In celebration of this news, Becca's official Instagram posted an impossibly mesmerizing video of the cream version being poured into compacts. It looks just like molten metal during the production process, so you just know that Prosecco Pop will positively glow on your cheekbones.
Read on to see the product being made, then shop all three (permanent!) formulations of Prosecco Pop when you read on.
Beauty and the Beast's Dazzling Pictures Will Take Your Breath Away
Even if you don't think Disney's live-action Beauty and the Beast is your cup of tea - Chip reference intended - you have to admit the pictures are beautiful. Emma Watson is leading the cast as Belle, opposite Dan Stevens's Beast. You can practically feel the magic looking at these still photos of the ballroom scene, and Gaston (Luke Evans) is practically jumping out of the screen. See for yourself!
11 Ways Parents Can Teach Kids the Importance of Kindness
Oftentimes, it feels like adults have something to learn from kids when it comes to kindness and loving each other. However, parents still have a serious role in teaching their kiddos the importance of being genuinely caring little people.
According to research conducted by Harvard psychologist Richard Weissbourd and published in the Washington Post, 80 percent of kids studied thought their parents were more focused on their achievements or personal happiness than whether they cared for others. "Children are not born simply good or bad and we should never give up on them. They need adults who will help them become caring, respectful, and responsible for their communities at every stage of their childhood," the researchers wrote.
No matter your child's age, it's never too early or late to start emphasizing the importance of caring for one another. Read on for 11 impactful ways parents can help children understand the value of this attribute.

It's Not Joan Small's Toned Abs You'll Be Eyeing - It's the Bikini She's Wearing
Joan Smalls is enjoying some post-Fashion Month time off in Goa, India, and while we were into Joan's scenic Instagrams, it was this snap of her tropical bikini that caught our eye. With one simple (but very sexy) picture, the stylish Puerto Rican model gave us so many ideas on what we want to be shopping for ahead of Summer.
The colorful, palm-tree inspired print in her bikini immediately put a smile on our face, making us picture an icy-cold piña colada in our hands and sand on our toes - why do we even bother wearing just plain swimwear again? And that sexy peek-a-boo cutout on her top, shows just the right amount of skin making the swimsuit a little hotter. Liam Payne Reveals Cheryl Has Been His "Dream Girl" Since He Was a Teenager
Liam Payne was just a 16-year-old contestant on The X-Factor when he first met future girlfriend Cheryl, who was a 26-year-old judge on the show at the time, and now the pair is expecting a child together and more in love than ever. In the most recent issue of the UK's Rollacoaster magazine, the 23-year-old One Direction singer opened up about his relationship with Cheryl. "This is the thing: In a non-cliché way, it's weird waking up every day and literally living out your dream," he gushed. "Obviously I have the most beautiful girlfriend in the world, and she's absolutely amazing. She's been my dream girl since I was younger. She's so ace."
Liam confirmed rumors that he was dating the 33-year-old Girls Aloud singer on Instagram in February 2016, and the couple later made their red carpet debut at the Global Gift Gala in Paris that May. "She is a wonderful, wonderful person, and it's amazing to have someone who can relate to so much of things - someone who's taken greater steps than me," he continued, referencing Cheryl's experience in her own girl group. "Her solo career was amazing. She's been in the industry for 14 years now." He added that she "fully supports" him, which bodes well for the soon-to-be parents. "We're super happy. It's a very personal, precious time for us. I'm still learning. I'm only 23." Cheryl was granted a divorce from her second husband, Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini, in October.

Dad Discovers Son's Fatal Cancer Thanks to "White Flicker" in His Eye
Owen Scrivens knew something was wrong with his 1-year-old son, Jaxson, when he discovered a "white flicker" on the baby's right eye in a photo. As it turns out, Owen may have saved his son's life, as doctors confirmed his and Jaxson's mom's worst fear: Jaxson had retinoblastoma, a cancer of the eye.
"The news was deafening," Owen told Yahoo News. "We were given a choice between chemotherapy or removal of Jaxson's eye. We had no idea something so serious could be spotted in a harmless flash photo."
However, because of Owen's quick action, Jaxson's cancer was detected early and his tumor has already shrunk to a third of its original size since beginning treatments in December 2016. He only has a few more rounds to go, but that doesn't mean the little boy hasn't had his fair share of trails and tribulations since his dad's fatal discovery.
"Chemotherapy has made me lose my hair, made me sick, tired, weak, and everything I eat tastes like metal, though now I have a lot of meds to try and control the sickness," reads a statement from Owen's perspective on the family's GoFundMe page. "The side effects make me a very grizzly boy. . . . I've spent weeks in hospital so far. It's been difficult for mum and dad to lead a normal life with all of these things happening, but they want nothing more than for me to beat this!"
Owen hopes that Jaxson's story will spread so that other parents can be alerted to the signs of this type of cancer. "[We want] people to know how easy it is to look, and how serious it can be if ignored," he said. "There are people who have it a lot worse than Jaxson, and sadly, it's usually because it's ignored."

Kate Middleton Added This 1 Festive Accessory For St. Patrick’s Day
At this point, we know at least two things about Kate Middleton: she can rock the hell out of a structured coat, and she loves to support her favorite brands. To celebrate London's St. Patrick's Day parade, Kate did both of those things by wearing a bespoke dark green Catherine Walker coat.
It's no secret that Kate's had more than a couple of green coats in her closet, but this one stands apart with the black velvet collar and cuffs. The dark green coat fit her like a glove and had gold military-inspired buttons going down the front. She also wore matching green pumps and a pair of dazzling emerald earring by Monica Vinader. The best way she paid tribute to the holiday? The gold shamrock Irish Guard Brooch she wore proudly on her coat.

The Common Household Item That Poisons 60,000 Kids Each Year
Although many parents think about baby-proofing and ways to keep their little ones safe as they get older, many tragically underestimate just how easy it is for their kiddos to get into their medicine.
According to a new report from Safe Kids Worldwide, 60,000 children are taken to the hospital yearly because they got into medicine. "Nine out of 10 parents know that medicine should be stored up and away and out of reach and sight, every time," said Morag Mackay, director of research for Safe Kids Worldwide, according to Today. "But we found that seven out of 10 of them admitted to not doing that."
This study highlights a major disconnect between what parents know (that medicine is dangerous for kids) and what they do (not properly storing it each and every time they take some). Many adults underestimate their babies and toddlers by leaving medication where they think it's out of reach, like on the counter, but can actually still be accessible to small children.
"Children as young as a month have ended up in an emergency department because they'd been poisoned by getting into a medicine that was left within reach," said Mackay. "Parents, while they know their kids well, they sometimes underestimate what they can actually do."
For Shelagh Macdonald, one of thousands of mothers who have experienced this accident, it occurred in a matter of minutes. She was giving her infant Tylenol to help with teething pain and placed the bottle high on a bookshelf while she put the baby down for a nap. When she returned, her 2-year-old son exclaimed, "Mommy, I took medicine!"
In that short period of time, Calvin had stacked a step stool on top of a training potty in order to reach the bottle. "I panicked," Shelagh told Today. "I hadn't closed (the cap) all the way. He drank nearly the entire bottle of Tylenol."
"Kids develop rapidly," Dr. Rutherfoord Rose, director of the Virginia Poison Center, told NBC News. "They want to explore their environment. At certain ages they have a lot of hand-to-mouth activity, and so it's very common for them to explore their environment and then try to taste what they find."
According to Rose, most cases of medicine poisoning toddlers or babies occurs at home. Parents should also note that vitamins and supplements can be dangerous as well and should be kept out of sight - and not just out of reach - along with all other medications.
Amanda Seyfried Already Wore Her Wedding Dress on the Red Carpet
If there's one thing Amanda Seyfried doesn't need, it's an extravagant wedding dress. The pregnant (and married!) actress previously spoke to Vogue Australia about upcoming life events, confirming she's ready to abandon the spotlight:
"I don't want to be the center of attention. I get to go to premieres and get dressed up all the time. I went to the Met Gala last year in a wedding gown designed by Riccardo Tisci; I've played a bride a billion times."
Sticking true to her word, Amanda and Thomas Sadoski eloped - with their dog Finn in tow of course - and secretly married in the country. "We just took off into the country with an officiant and, just the two of us, and we did our thing . . . We had a great day. It was perfect." Sadoski said to James Corden. "It was beautiful. It was everything that it should be. It was just the two of us talking to each other."
Some ladies might look at their nuptials as an opportunity to shine, but Amanda's been there, done that. Not only did she wear a gorgeous gown at the Met Gala, but she's played a bride in Mamma Mia, The Big Wedding, and Les Misérables. In other words, we're well aware she can pull off a lavish look, and so is she.
While we wait to see the number Amanda chose for her special day, take a peek at her latest editorial and check out the wondrous wedding ensembles she was already lucky enough to slip into - in front of the camera, mind you.
Cindy Crawford Is Very Excited For George Clooney to Become a Dad

Not only did Cindy gush about how excited she was for George to become a father, but she admitted that she noticed the chemistry between him and Amal right away, adding, "It was like all of a sudden he might get married and he might have a family."
Cindy and Rande were also part of the small group of friends who attended George and Amal's Venice, Italy, wedding in September 2014. So, do they have any advice for the couple? "George has always been so great with our kids that he doesn't need advice," Rande told People. "He is going to be an amazing dad; Amal is going to be an incredible mother."
