Study Shows That Moms Who Give Birth in Their 30s Are Twice As Likely to Live Longer
Many women who have babies "later" in life worry that their mature age will mean they will have less time with their children. It makes sense - the longer you wait, the less time you have in the end, right? But according to a new study, this isn't actually the case.
The Long Life Family Study found that women who had their last child after 33 years old not only lived the longest when compared to moms who give birth at younger ages, but they also had double the chance of being in the last 5 percent of their birth cohorts. "Several studies have found that late maternal age at last childbirth is positively associated with maternal longevity," said Dr. Nicole Schupf, professor at Columbia University Medical Center. This study used information from that research and discovered a connection between the length of a woman's telomeres and the age in which she is able to still have a baby. Telomeres are the part of the cell that impacts how it ages and longer telomeres were found to be associated with being able to have children at an older age as well as increased longevity.
"This finding suggests that late maternal age at last child birth is a marker for rate of aging and, if heritable, might be associated with genetic variants playing a role in exceptional survival," Nicole said.
The study, which was published by The North American Menopause Society, looked at 386 women in the United States and Denmark who were all over 70 years old. "Compared with women who had their last child by the age of 29, women with a later age at birth of their last child -34 to 37 or over 38 - were found to have increased odds of being in the longest tertile of telomere length versus the shortest tertile of telomere length," Nicole said. "The strength of the association with the longest telomere length increased as the maternal age at birth of last child became later in life."
Although further research is needed on other influences that impact when women stop having children, this is good news for those who waited until they were at least in their 30s to complete their families.
How Did Tim McGraw and Faith Hill Meet? They Were Dating Other People
Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are one of country's most iconic couples, so it's pretty fitting that their love story started at a musical festival. The two first met at the New Faces Show in Nashville sometime in late 1994. Faith had just divorced Daniel Hill and Tim was dating Kristine Donahue. Even though their interaction backstage was brief, they got to know each other a little better when they went on a joint tour in the Spring of 1996, fittingly titled Spontaneous Combustion.
While Tim was newly single after calling off his engagement to Kristine, Faith was engaged to record producer Scott Hendricks. After singing together every night on stage, however, they just couldn't deny the sparks between them. One night after a show, Tim invited her into his dressing room and they shared their first kiss. Shortly after, Faith called off her engagement and the two began dating. By the end of the year, they were married and expecting their first child. Fast-forward 20 years and the country couple is still going strong with three beautiful daughters.

Reese recently opened up about her look-alike daughter's trendsetting ways, saying, "She's so much cooler than I am!" and admitting that they "confer about new styles" and that Ava tells her "whether or not I can wear things."

I'm Hopelessly Addicted to Magnetic False Lashes (and Never Turning Back)
Guys, we need to have a talk about magnetic lash extensions. And by "a talk," I mean that I need to tell you how they're a f*cking godsend. I use them most times I wear makeup; basically, if you see me post a selfie anywhere, I'm probably wearing a pair of my magnetic falsies. I keep a pack of the lashes at my desk at work, I care for mine religiously at home, and I estimate that I've convinced at least 15 friends to buy their own pair. Considering the fact that many salons charge between $100 and $200 for lash extension treatments that only last a month, I feel obligated to share my experience with these reusable, easy-to-wear lash boosters. I've become something of a magnetic lash disciple.
Basically, if you see me post a selfie anywhere, I'm probably wearing a pair of my magnetic falsies.
When the producer of my weekly POPSUGAR Snapchat series, First Impression Friday, told me that I'd be trying magnetic eyelash extensions, I was nervous; I'd never even heard of magnetic lashes, let alone whether they were safe to use! But to make a long story short, the magnetic lash extensions from One Two Cosmetics ended up being my favorite product ever tested on First Impression Friday in over a year of shooting the Snap series - and I refused to part with them after we wrapped. I brought home the package of magnetic lashes and proceeded to wear them every single day for two weeks.
Like any self-respecting millennial, I took to social media to spread the word about the magnetic lashes, posting a blurb about them on my Instagram story. I received TONS of questions from friends and followers about the lashes, so I figured this review might be a good place to answer them! Read on for images of the lashes in action and answers to all the questions I've been asked since I began wearing the magnetic lash extensions.

The Tiny Tweak That Will Help You Make the Most Out of a Push-Up
Have you ever been doing a move for so long you don't realize you're doing it completely wrong? It happens to the best of us. Simple things like squats, planks . . . even standing up straight! Tiny adjustments to our posture and form can yield incredibly positive and powerful results - just as doing something the wrong way repeatedly can be bad for your body.
Let's talk about a triceps push-up. Pretty much any fitness enthusiast you ask would say, "Sure, I know how to do a triceps push-up! Piece of cake!" but trainers see more improper push-ups than they do solid ones. A lot of times, it comes down to a tiny tweak - a rotation, in fact. We learned this at Swing Kettlebell School in San Francisco, when cofounder Rich Manaro explained the method of rotating the arms; he calls it "packing the shoulder."
"Before lowering your body to the floor in a push-up, rotate your elbows so that the pit [inside bend] of the elbow faces forward. This action 'packs' the shoulder, engaging the lat and protecting the shoulder girdle, ensuring proper pushing position."
"Packing the shoulder" creates a more stable shoulder joint, and this subtle change puts your shoulder in a safer, more neutral position and decreases wear and tear on the joint, ensuring you can do push-ups for decades to come.
See that? Just a tiny change, and you're doing a push-up correctly. And what happens when you do a push-up correctly? In addition to avoiding injury and staying safe, you're getting a better workout and working the right muscle groups.

People Are Now Applying Makeup With Hard-Boiled Eggs and I No Longer Have Hope For Humanity
When my life - or the world around me - is spiraling out of control, I have always turned to makeup as a method of free therapy. Whether it's ogling it and buying it or spending an exorbitant amount of time applying it, I find playing with the wide ranges of formulas, shades, and textures soothing. So when I woke up this morning to find that people are now using hard-boiled eggs to dab on their foundation, I had only one reaction: what the f*ck?!
Seriously, why is this happening? Like many of you, I was next-level obsessed when I figured out how to properly use my Beautyblender, and felt that my makeup routine was transformed forever. I also understood when some devotees of the tool defected and tried other application techniques. After all, one of the best parts about beauty is that there are always innovations and improvements to try out!
But then people started taking the hacks too far. Don't get me wrong, I saw definite logic to the videos using push-up bra inserts as blending tools, as they were almost identical to those popular silicone sponges. But testing tampons as makeup sponges? Both counterintuitive (cotton is absorbent, so you're wasting foundation!) and uneconomical (tampons aren't cheap, OK?). And now, the beauty community has moved onto eggs.
PopLuxe founder Nadi just started a new series where fans ask him to use "random-ass" items to apply his makeup, and first up in this challenge was hard-boiled eggs. No, it's not hurting anyone. Yes, this is America, land of the free to do whatever you want with your hard-boiled eggs. But is this protein-laden sponge alternative truly going to replace a Beautyblender in your makeup bag?
As Nadi demonstrated above, the egg falls apart while you're using it, leaving crumbles all over your skin while you work. (Good for a tossed salad, bad for a beat face.) That means you need to use several eggs in just one application session. The frustrating shelling process alone would put me off. Nadi pointed out that they are refreshingly cold, but also slimy sometimes, and make expensive makeup smell like sulfur.
Also, is the average person really going to eat a foundation-stained hard-boiled egg? I get that egg prices are at an all-time low, but last time I checked, foundation isn't a tasty condiment. And if you don't plan on consuming your egg-sponge, that's just wasteful. (Not to be all, "people are starving around the world," but, you know, people are starving around the world.)
Overall, I applaud Nadi for being brave enough to try this out (and R.I.P. to his Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat), but I beg of you, don't play with your food. Play with your makeup as the beauty gods intended. But if you feel hollow inside because you just need to apply your foundation with your food before you die, may I propose using a ripe plum tomato? It's perfectly smooth, egg-shaped, lightly squishy, and can even be refrigerated so you can get that cooling experience. But furthermore, you can peel that sh*t and make some pasta or pizza with it once you're done getting glam.
Grey's Anatomy: Meredith's Love Triangle Is About to Get Complicated
Near the beginning of Grey's Anatomy's 13th season, all eyes were on one worrisome love triangle. After Meredith and Riggs impulsively and passionately hook up, Maggie reveals she has feelings for him. This tension leads to a pretty intense situation, especially once Riggs starts insisting he and Meredith date. Recent episodes of the show haven't shed much light on the situation; there's been so much between Alex's legal battle and Eliza Minnick's hospital takeover. Now that all the dust is settling, though, this triangle is back in the spotlight.
At the annual PaleyFest's Grey's Anatomy panel in LA this month, we got the dish from actor Martin Henderson, and it looks like things are only getting more complex. We asked whether the couple would finally get together, and we got a pretty lengthy and interesting answer.
"I think it seems to have come around now. Nathan's like, 'Look, I've been pursuing you for so long. I'm convinced that we have this thing. I felt it the moment I saw you. So, I want to push the boat out, I want to explore where that is. For my own happiness, and I believe for yours. Could be wrong, but I believe I'm right. So, if you stop listening to everybody else's opinions about me, and just go with your feelings, what do you say?'
"He's sort of given her an ultimatum, so in a way it allows her to ruminate on whether she is still closing herself off. And of course, there's a lot of good reasons and understandable reasons why a single mother, a widow with a sister who has also been interested in the same man, would put the brakes on. I think we'll start to see her grapple with that dilemma and then dip her toe in a little bit. But I still think, as it progresses and as they explore what it could be, it's still fraught with complications because of Maggie. Because of the ghost of Derek, and her still holding on to that relationship. It's destined to be a rocky road no matter what happens.
"Even if they didn't end up together, it would be so nice if they mutually had moments of intimacy and joy and connection and love. I think we all have that potential. To have that go unanswered, it would be a shame. Yet at the same time, I respect both characters. I mean, Nathan is still getting over his lost fiancée. He understands. She's still getting over her loss, so again it's bound to be complicated. But within the complications and the drama, it would be nice for them both to have some joy."
With all this brewing, we couldn't help but wonder how Maggie would factor in to everything. Henderson teased that it might get worse before it gets better. "Let's just say it gets more complicated before it resolves," he revealed. "It's Shondaland! [Shonda Rhimes] is not going to not enjoy the drama of the situation."

The Instant Connection Between 1 Boy and His "Twin" Is Too Cute to Handle
Even though Carter Blanchard and Rowdy the dog live halfway across the country, these two have something in common: they both have Vitiligo.
Vitiligo is a skin disorder that destroys cells responsible for making the skin's pigment. Carter was first diagnosed with this condition in kindergarten when white patches appeared around his eyes, and since then, the 8-year-old has struggled with his confidence.
"He was at a big school with a lot of kids, and his face was transforming very quickly," his mom, Stephanie Adcock, told ABC News. "The first thing he'd tell me when he got in the car is that he hated his face and hated the way he looked."
Rowdy was diagnosed with vitiligo the same year as Carte,r and the 13-year-old purebred black Labrador retriever also has a loss of pigment around his eyes. Although Rowdy lives in Oregon, Stephanie saw photos of him on Facebook and shared the adorable images with Carter, who lives in Arkansas.
"I read that Rowdy had vitiligo, and I was blown away," she told KATU. "When I showed Carter, he was so excited to see a dog that was famous for his vitiligo."
Stephanie reached out to Rowdy's owner and a long-distance friendship quickly bloomed. The pair were finally able to meet in person thanks to donations from KATU viewers and after hugs and hours of petting, "they've been together ever since." Stephanie told KATU: "It couldn't be any other person that made him feel better. It had to be Rowdy. It had to be a dog."
Rowdy suffered a seizure shortly after his and Carter's heartwarming meeting. As he undergoes tests, strangers are donating money towards his medical expenses while Carter's family cherishes their unexpected connection. "When we walked in, I didn't feel like we were walking in for the very first time. They were family already," she told ABC News. "You could tell Rowdy knew something was going on and felt the energy of the room."

4 Tips For Six-Pack Success From the Barefoot Blonde Blogger
Meet Amber Fillerup Clark. If you aren't one of the 1.3 million people who follow her on Instagram, you may not be as familiar with her famous abs and braids. But this mom of two hasn't always had the easiest time with exercise - in fact, her latest pregnancy was really hard on her midsection.
"After I had my second baby, I was so weak that I couldn't even do a single sit-up!" she told POPSUGAR. "My ab muscles had separated a lot with that second pregnancy and I knew I would have to work really hard on getting my core back." It's safe to say she definitely got that core back - and then some. What's her secret? There are actually four big factors that helped her get strong, and you can totally implement them yourself.
BBG Workouts
Amber told us that after she had her second child, she "waited a few months to start working out and then slowly eased into working out, starting with working out at home!" From there, she decided to take her health and fitness to the next level with a personal trainer, but she didn't want to lose momentum when she and her family moved to Hawaii - that's when she really fell in love with the BBG program. "When we got to Hawaii, I started doing the Kayla's [Itsines] BBG program so I could maintain what my trainer helped me get to. The BBG workouts are great because I can do them at home if I can't get to the gym that day, and you can make them as hard as you want them to be."
A Solid Support System
She shared that this is actually her second time trying the program, as the first time she said she "kind of slowly phased out and didn't stick with it." The difference this time around? Her family. "This time it has helped me a lot to have my sisters as a support system. We all started it the same day and us four text our group chat once we did the workout that day. It holds me accountable knowing I will have to text them and let me know if I did it or not!"
Abs, Times 5
"One other tip is that I do an ab workout at least five times a week, even if it isn't a part of the BBG workout that day," so no matter what her schedule is, every day is ab day. And we can tell just by looking at her! "I have worked so hard to get my core at a good place, and I like to maintain it by doing at least 100 reps of any given ab workout each day. Sometimes it's just when my husband and I are watching Netflix!" Pro tip: Netflix and reps > Netflix and chill.
Healthy Staples
You all know that "abs are made in the kitchen," and Amber is no exception to this. What's always in Amber's fridge? Staples for her favorite fresh and healthy meals, like wraps and smoothie bowls. "Fruit for acai bowls, turkey and sprouts for wraps, and ready-to-go salads."
Gigi Hadid's Sneakers Had a 10,000 Person Wait List
Gigi Hadid keeps a handful of sneakers in rotation, from Reebok trainers to Vans high-tops, but her sleekest style might be the Everlane Street Shoe. At launch in May 2015, the Italian leather design, shaped with a pointed toe just like the brand's modern loafer, had over 10,000 people on the wait list. Now Everlane can hardly keep it in stock.
We talked to the company's merchandising team about the special make of the most sophisticated-looking sneaker on the block, and we even got details about the customer inquiries Everlane receives, all because of Gigi. Scroll to learn about the shoe you so obviously need in your closet.

Beauty and the Beast is one of Disney's most timeless classics, but there's a lot about the animated film that you might not have realized. For instance, do you know exactly what kind of animal the Beast was based on? Or his real name? The reboot is absolutely gorgeous and has a few interesting updates, but for now, let's revisit all of the interesting tidbits that make the 1991 film so great.
- Jackie Chan dubbed the voice of the Beast for Chinese-speaking countries. He provided vocals for both the Beast's speaking and singing parts!
- Chip originally had only one line. The producers liked 9-year-old actor Bradley Pierce's voice so much that they asked to expand the role.
- He also wasn't supposed to be a teacup. Early drawings of the character saw him as a music box who could only communicate by his chiming musical notes.
- Belle's lineage is more important than you think. Belle is one of the few Disney princesses who is not descended from royalty. She's joined by Cinderella, Tiana, and Mulan.
- Belle and the Beast's iconic dance scene was recycled from a different Disney film. As a way to save money, the Beauty and the Beast animators cribbed the animation sequence from Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip's dance in 1959's Sleeping Beauty.
- Julie Andrews was reportedly meant to play Mrs. Potts. The role eventually went to Murder, She Wrote's Angela Lansbury, who knocked it out of the park.
- The Beast doesn't have a real name. If you've been walking around calling him "Prince Adam," you're not alone, but you're not technically right, either. In the movie, his real name is never actually clarified; he's only ever referred to as "the Beast." The first time it was ever used was in the spinoff computer game and then later in the Broadway musical.
- Belle is the only person in her village to wear blue. So she stood out for reasons other than her personality. Even more interesting? The Beast is wearing blue when she meets him.
- The song "Human Again" was supposed to be in the 1991 movie. Unfortunately the song, which was lyricist Howard Ashman's favorite, got cut. That's why it was added to the 2002 rerelease and also the Broadway musical.
- The Beast was more vicious before edits were made. Ever noticed how the Beast's room has what looks like animal carcasses in his room (which you can see in here, bottom left)? His character was going to have a scene where he brings home a dead deer to feast on for dinner, but it was scrapped over fears audiences would find him unsympathetic.
- Belle's character is inspired by Little Women's Jo March. Writer Linda Woolverton used Katharine Hepburn's role in the 1933 film adaptation as inspiration for the strong-minded, independent Belle.

- Gaston doesn't exist in the original fairy tale. Disney got the idea for Belle's suitor from Jean Cocteau's 1946 live-action film, which features a very similar character named Avenant (this is also where they got the idea for enchanted household items, which also don't appear in the fairy tale).
- Gaston's death is confirmed by hidden skull imagery. When Gaston falls to his death after attempting to kill the beast, tiny skulls are reflected in each of his eyes. This is a not-so-subtle way of saying, "Yeah, he's super dead."
- It helped inspire a new Oscars category. Although it didn't take home the award for best picture at the 1992 Academy Awards (it lost to Silence of the Lambs), Beauty and the Beast proved that animated movies should be taken seriously. A best animated feature category was added in 2001, but it wasn't until Up picked up a best picture nom in 2010 that another animated film was given such an honor.
- Walt Disney wanted to make a Beauty and the Beast movie much earlier. He tried to develop the script into an animated film for Disney in the 1930s and 1950s, but the writers thought the story was too complex to adapt for a young audience.
- The studio tried (and failed) again in 1988. The Mouse House hired British animation director Richard Purdum to work his magic on the adaptation, but his vision of a much darker and nonmusical version of the tale was scrapped by then-Disney Chairman Jeffrey Katzenberg. Purdum resigned shortly afterward.
- Bambi's mom has a cameo. In the first scene, a deer drinks from a stream in the forest, and it's none other than the ill-fated mom of Bambi. A popular fan theory suggests that her eventual death (she's shot by a hunter) can be attributed to Gaston. Dark.
- Patrick Stewart turned down the role of Cogsworth. He was playing Captain Jean-Luc Picard on Star Trek: The Next Generation at the time and had scheduling conflicts.
- The Beast is an amalgam of animals, not just one. Animator Glen Keane used several animals as inspiration for the Beast's appearance: a lion (for his mane), a gorilla (his furrowed brow), a buffalo (his head, duh), wild boar (his tusks), a wolf (his legs and bushy tail), and a bear (his bulky body).
- Mrs. Potts was named Mrs. Chamomile at first. Producer Don Hahn revealed the surprising tidbit during a special anniversary screening in September. "The reason they changed it to Mrs. Potts is that Mrs. Chamomile was too hard to say," he explained. "Mrs. Potts was a lot easier."
- Belle is the oldest Disney princess. Paige O'Hara, the voice of Belle, told Vanity Fairthe tidbit: "She's the only one who they ever created to be in her 20s. All the other princesses have been teenagers. So there's maturity about her."
- The castle's gruesome gargoyles are actually early concept art of the Beast. As Belle cautiously explores the West Wing, take a peek at the statues looming over her.
- Angela Lansbury needed only one take to nail "Beauty and the Beast." After being up all night because her plane had an emergency landing after a bomb threat, Lansbury rushed to the studio to record the titular song. "We made it just in time, and I think it was the excitement and the sense of doing it now that helped me sing the song," she explained.
- It was the first animated film to earn more than $100 million at the box office. The movie raked in millions, making it the third highest-grossing movie of that year (Terminator 2: Judgment Day and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves were first and second).
- Mickey Mouse has a small, subtle cameo. Hidden Mickeys are a Disney staple, and if you look closely during the scene where the Beast gifts Belle with his library, the outline of Mickey's head can be seen on the top of the middle bookshelf.
- Regis Philbin auditioned for the Beast. He was beat out by actor Robby Benson, who was clearly born to play the role. "Something magical happened," he told Entertainment Weekly about recording the Beast's death scene. I closed my eyes and saw my daughter in a theater. Knowing how emotional she gets, I suddenly felt like I was the Beast. I started performing, and the next thing I knew, it was over."
- Both the English and Spanish versions of LeFou are played by Jesse Corti. The Venezuelan-born actor talked to POPSUGAR about the fact: "As far as I know, I think I'm the only actor in the Disney movie that does the part in both languages."
- Disney World gave the actors a special treat at the theme park. After filming was over, Corti said that a part of Disney World was outfitted to look exactly like Belle's village: "You had the baker, the place with the horses, the carriages, and all the townspeople . . . Lefou and everybody, and the characters came to life."
- A line of scrapped dialogue from the 1991 movie made it into the 2017 reboot. "I love Glen Keane's Beast, that's why I ad-libbed 'Do you think you can grow a beard?'" O'Hara told Insider. "It almost made it in the movie. But Glen's very proud of his prince and I understand why. He really is the most beautiful, I think, of all the Disney princes in history." Funnily enough, Emma Watson's Belle utters that very line to the Beast at the end of the live-action version.
- Much of the movie's music was written in a hotel room. Because lyricist Howard Ashman was extremely sick, composer Howard Menken and producer Don Hahn got a room in a Marriott near his house in Fishkill, NY. There they wrote "Be Our Guest," "Little Town," and more on a small rented keyboard. Sadly Ashman died from AIDS complications eight months before the movie was released.
- There's a very poignant Latin phrase on the stained glass windows. In the 25th anniversary Blu-ray edition of the film, it's revealed that the Latin phrase on one of the stained glass windows reads: "Vincit qui se vincit," or "He conquers who conquers himself." Nothing like a little foreshadowing, right?

At 90 Years Old, This Great-Grandma Has Knit Over 2,000 Hats For Newborn Babies
When parents pack their hospital bags ahead of giving birth, they're sure to include an adorable onesie for when it's time to leave the hospital, but what about a hat? It's essential to keep a newborn's head warm immediately after birth, and that's where Barbara Lowe comes in. Barbara is a 90-year-old woman who has spent the last eight years knitting over 2,000 hats for newborn babies. She's a great-grandmother with a huge heart, and she's using her passion for knitting to give back to the community.
When a child is born at the Hillcrest Hospital in Ohio, they are gifted with one of Barbara's hats. "To this day I've made 2,072 hats," she told Cleveland.com. "I love doing this." Although Barbara has been knitting for most of her life - making hats, blankets, and so much more for her family and friends - it wasn't until 2008 that she decided to put her skills to philanthropic use. After one of Barbara's extended family members suggested she knit hats for newborns to wear home, she was eager to volunteer.
Barbara purchases the yarn and supplies with her own money, but it's not about the money for her; it's about giving back. Each hat takes about four hours to make and she practically does it with her eyes closed! "I feel like the babies' parents gave them their first gift, which is life," she said. "I feel like I'm giving them their second gift with these little hats."

This New Starbucks Merchandise Is So Whimsical and Perfect, We Could Cry
If you still have money in your wallet after splurging on the Starbucks x Lilly Pulitzer collection of water bottles, there's another equally gorgeous collaboration that we're swooning over. The popular coffeehouse just teamed up with French fashion house Paul & Joe to release a whimsical line of tumblers, ceramic mugs, and tote bags. With a dreamy pastel color scheme, it's giving us so many Spring vibes.
The limited-edition merchandise features doodles of Paul & Joe founder Sophie Méchaly's cat, Gipsy, as well as illustrations of cherry blossoms and butterflies. The only downside to this pretty collaboration? Its products are only available in Starbucks stores in Asia - bummer! Word around town is that people have already started reselling these cute items on eBay with quite the hefty upcharges. I guess we'll just have to settle for fawning over photos of the collection ahead and ordering our drinks in those bright pastel cups instead this Spring.

Strength vs. Cardio - Here's How You Should Structure Your Workout
Ask most trainers and they'll tell you that a healthy workout routine consists of strength training, cardio, and rest days, ideally spread throughout the week. But for those of us who love two-a-days or long sessions at the gym or just need to maximize our time, the common question seems to be: Which do I do first, strength or cardio?
This was the burning question I had for Natalie Carey, certified trainer and sports nutritionist at DIAKADI Fitness. "Strength training should always come first - always," Natalie said without skipping a beat. The benefits of structuring your workouts this way are plenty, she added.
Fat Loss
If losing weight is your goal - specifically fat - weight training before your cardio session has major benefits, Natalie said. She explained that strength training increases the "afterburn effect." Your resting metabolism rate is heightened and your body is working to help your muscles recover, which results in an increased calorie burn long after the workout is over. This is an ideal place to be in when you hit your cardio session.
Diana Chaloux, CPT and owner of the online personal-training website HitchFit, is also in agreement. "When you strength train, your body utilizes glycogen (stored carbohydrates) for fuel," Diana said. "So if you strength train first and then do lower-intensity cardio immediately after, which uses fat for fuel, you create an environment in your body conducive to fat metabolism." Basically by the time you get to your cardio session, your body will be primed to burn fat at a higher rate than if you did it the other way around.
Injury Prevention
Compared to cardio, it's much easier to get injured while strength training. And strength training while tired only increases that risk, said Natalie. This is perhaps the biggest reason she advises clients to strength train before a cardio session. "You want to make sure you have the energy to perform the exercises correctly," she said. "Poor form can result in an injury that will get you off track with your training goals." Best to hit up those lunges, kettlebell swings, and push-ups when muscles are fresh!
It's important to note that even if you feel energized and unaffected by your cardio session, your body was still put through the motions and energy stores were depleted. This fatigue may cause your form and focus to be affected in ways you might not be able to notice on your own. Whatever you ultimately decide, be mindful of how you feel and do your best to know when it's time to back off.

Taylor Kinney Talks About Dating After Ending His Engagement to Lady Gaga
Hearts broke all around the world when Taylor Kinney and Lady Gaga called off their engagement last July. While the singer has since moved on with her agent, Christian Carino, it seems like the Chicago Fire actor is simply focusing on his career. "My dating life is through Chicago Fire," he told Entertainment Tonight about the state of his love life. "I live vicariously through my character. I don't think I have a type. I think it's more of an energy. I think of compatibility as the intangibles of something, and someone that you meet and connect with, and someone you can laugh with, and maybe share a [similar] sense of humor, then things go from there."
Even though the pair are no longer together, they are still very close. Since ending their five-year relationship, Gaga has had nothing but nice things to say about her ex, calling him her "best friend." And in addition to hanging out with Gaga's mom during a charity event in December, Taylor was also at the 2017 Super Bowl to watch her big halftime performance.
"Mouse Ears For Everyone" Helps Special Needs Families Navigate Disney
Navigating Disney can be difficult for any family, especially with a baby or multiple kids. For Amy Schinner, a former Disney employee and mother of two, the hardest part of getting around Disney was having to uncover information and resources on her own to take her son Ben, who has autism and loves all things Disney, to the park. Her findings and experiences were compiled, and Mouse Ears for Everyone!: a Guide to Walt Disney World For Guests With Special Needs was born.
"Vacationing is a great way for families to bond and create memories that will connect them forever," Amy shared on the book's website. "So, when I noticed there are many different travel guides for Disney, but not one for helping families with special needs, I decided to create one myself."
Because the demands of children and adults with special needs range so much, Amy's guide is all-inclusive. Thanks to her own research and experiences, as well as the expertise of other Disney cast members and other parents of special needs children, Amy was able to compile the best tips, tricks, and advice. From the "sensory impact" levels of different rides, restaurants, and shows to how to navigate the park with wheelchairs and strollers of all sizes, the guide has it all so that every family can experience a little stress-free Disney magic - just as Walt Disney intended.
"I'm an advocate for people with disabilities," Amy said. "I hope the information in my book and on this site helps other families create special memories and discover their own Disney Magic!"

The Ominous, Terrifying Trailer For Netflix's Death Note Is Here
Shall we begin? #DeathNote http://pic.twitter.com/fEd12Gm32c
- Netflix US (@netflix) March 22, 2017
Netflix tweeted out the first trailer for Death Note, and to say it looks intense would be a drastic understatement. The American film adaptation of Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata's Japanese manga series follows high school student Light Turner (Nat Wolff), who stumbles upon a mysterious, sinister notebook that kills anyone whose name is written inside it. Director Adam Wingard, whose past works include You're Next and the Blair Witch sequel, is no stranger to horrifying stories and revealed it's going to be his "most insane movie yet" during a Reddit AMA. The movie premieres on Aug. 25 and also stars Lakeith Stanfield, Margaret Qualley, and Willem Dafoe.
Selena's Sister Lived With Jennifer Lopez While She Filmed the 1997 Movie
Selena Quintanilla's sister, Suzette, and father, Abraham, sat down with Entertainment Tonight for what might be the most candid interview the late Tejano singer's family has ever done about the 1997 movie Selena, featuring Jennifer Lopez.
In the clip, Suzette opens up about living with J Lo while she was preparing for the movie. "She asked a lot of questions - how was this, how did she do this? - we watched videos together. I guess really trying to vibe our family, not just who Selena was a person, but us as a whole," Suzette said of that time.
But there were even more revealing moments: Abraham set the record straight saying the "washing machine" dance scene by the beach never happened but the bustier freak-out sure did, while Suzette said the family avoids the film's ending, which touches on Selena's untimely passing. Press play above to watch the interview, and head to Entertainment Tonight to read more about it.
The Scary Truth Behind the Honey Sold in Grocery Stores
Do you buy honey at the grocery store? If so, you're probably buying honey that's been laundered, meaning honey that is diluted with fillers like high-fructose corn syrup yet labeled and sold as pure honey. Yes, that's an actual thing, and it's more common than people realize. The largest producer of honey in the US, Groeb Farms of Michigan, admitted to buying millions of dollars of laundered honey.
To better understand what honey laundering is and how to avoid tainted honey, I spoke to an expert. Damian Magista, founder of Bee Local, explained honey laundering as follows:
"Large quantities of Chinese-produced honey are being 'dumped' illegally on the US market. To curb the importation of chemical-ridden honey, the US established high tariffs on honey imported from China. Taxes drive up prices, so big companies are essentially sneaking this honey in to keep their costs low. Honey from China is being rerouted through other countries and it's getting mislabeled throughout the process to hide its origin. Many of these Chinese producers are using non-FDA-approved chemicals on their bees, and similar to the drug trade, the producers 'cut' their honey with additives like high-fructose corn syrup, making it less pure but less expensive, since it contains a filler. At the end of the day, when laundered honey arrives in the US, it's no longer pure honey."
Apart from honey laundering being less than ethical, why should this matter to you and how can you avoid it? Read on for answers.

See Every Single Magical Shade and Swatch of Urban Decay's Unicorn Lipstick Topcoats
Game over, Urban Decay! While holographic "unicorn" lip glosses and metallic topcoats have already begun to spread through the market, UD just launched a showstopping set. Yesterday, we dropped the news that the brand created Vice Special Effects Lip Topcoats, and today we have the exclusive first look at all 12 shades, swatches, and the campaign images featuring Ruby Rose.
The colors are a dizzying array of blue, purple, green, white, and pink metallics with every type of iridescent, glittery infusion you can imagine. It's definitely - to borrow a phrase from UD - beauty with an edge. We imagine Wende Zomnir and crew watching the previous unicorn lipstick populate Instagram, thinking, "We can own this game." So they did. The result is your naughty night-out essential set. No-makeup makeup girls, proceed with caution.
Here's what we can tell you about the Vice Special Effects Lip Topcoat formula: it's a longwear and water-resistant (like many of UD's products) gel-cream formula. I'm pretty sensitive to dehydrating lip products, and this felt comfortable. This is due to nourishing marine collagen being a key ingredient.
The topcoat is meant to be a shade shifter and transform and lock in whatever color is underneath it. The flexible skinny applicator allowed me to easily line my pout before I filled it in. Because it dries down so fast, you don't have to worry about glitter particles falling all over your face. It didn't get on my coffee cup when I took a sip. It's like glitter lips for dummies.
Keep reading to see all 12 magical shades, swatches, and a sexy Ruby Rose in the campaign before it's available for $18 a pop on March 23 at urbandecay.com and on March 31 at Sephora, Ulta Beauty, and select Macy's stores.

Her illness has had one silver lining, however: she was able to meet an incredibly kind, caring nurse named Jonnella, who helped her through everything. "Nurses are the real heroes of our society" the Girls creator told Ellen DeGeneres on Wednesday. "She would make me laugh, we would watch videos, we would listen to Drake, we would giggle." Jonnella happens to be a huge fan of Ellen, so they not only surprised her with a FaceTime call but also airplane tickets for a trip out to LA to watch the show in person for her birthday. Watch Jonnella's surprise above, but be careful - it just might bring a tear to your eye.
