I Tried 13 Mascaras to See Which One Works Best on Asian Lashes

When a quick Google search informed me that CoverGirl's Lashblast Length mascara had been discontinued (#RIP), I was devastated. Like most Asian women, I have naturally thin and short lashes, and that particular CoverGirl formula was the most effective at making them seem longer and fuller. An eyelash-extension expert once told me my lashes were about 8mm long (less than an inch!), and since then I have vowed to have lashes 10mm or longer. But getting lash extensions every two weeks for the rest of my life wasn't really practical.

The next best solution: finding a new mascara I can be 100 percent committed to. I sourced friends, co-workers, and the internet to research which mascaras work best, specifically for Asian lashes. I was on the hunt for a mascara that would deliver both volume and length in one easy-to-use tube, and I realized: isn't that what most people want? Just more so if you have fine eyelashes. After trying 13 different mascaras, I can safely say I found some formulas that make saying goodbye to my old CoverGirl standby a lot easier.

17 Beloved Shows That Are Ending in 2017

While it would be lovely if all our favorite shows lasted until the end of time (just kidding, remember the last season of Lost?), all good things must come to an end. In this case, some of our favorite TV shows are already scheduled to finish up in 2017. Not quite canceled but not quite renewed, these shows were given a gift from the network gods: a forewarning of their inevitable demise. So that you can plan out your emotions accordingly, here's a list of the shows that we know are airing their final episode in 2017. As you read, please hum the lyrics to Green Day's "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)." Thank you.

Someone Get This Grandpa an Award For the Best Gift You Can Give a Kid

Any child who has a grandparent in his or her life is incredibly lucky, and one adorable grandpa just reminded everyone of that.

On Lauren's 16th birthday, her grandpa gave her a priceless gift that captured their special bond. He presented her with three spiral notebooks and the story behind them has the internet collectively crying. Lauren posted pictures on Twitter and explained that her Papa journaled stories from whenever they spent time together.

Starting in 2003, Papa recorded memories of him and Lauren from when she was 2 years old until she was 5 years old and saved the notebooks for this special occasion. "I am speechless," she wrote on Twitter along with snapshots of the lengthy entries. Not much is known about Papa's identity, but his thoughtful gesture has us in a puddle of mush!

E.L.F. Is Launching Its First New Highlighter Shade in 6 Years - and It's Gorgeous

If you haven't used E.L.F.'s Baked Highlighter, your cheekbones have been missing out on one of (if not the) best drugstore illuminators. The baked pigment is a cult favorite thanks to its rich color payoff and affordable price point.

Now, for the first time in six years, the brand is extending its Baked Highlighter range with a new shade called Apricot Glow - and we have an exclusive look! We caught up with Global Artistic Director Achelle Richards-Dunaway, who shared that the extension came to life because E.L.F.'s fans specifically requested an apricot iteration of its famous highlighter. The fan request isn't too surprising, considering the peach color palette is one of the season's hottest trends.

Unlike E.L.F.'s existing mauve- and pearl-toned highlighters, Apricot Glow will give your cheekbones a potent golden shine, similar to those trending on Instagram. Its color payoff is just as luminous as the original Baked Highlighters, and it can also be intensified with a damp brush or a spritz of E.L.F.'s Makeup Mist and Set ($3) setting spray.

The new shade launches on April 4 at elfcosmetics.com for $4, and we'll definitely be adding it to our Spring makeup lineup when it drops. But while you wait, read ahead for a closer look at Apricot Glow and to see it swatched on different skin tones.

Australia Might Ban Unvaccinated Kids From Daycares and Preschools

Despite the proven health benefits of vaccinations for kids, some parents still opt not to protect their children. Although this decision is being made specifically for their kid, it can have a major impact on other kids they come in contact with.

In an attempt to protect young children in daycares and preschools, Australian Prime Minister, Malcolm Turnbull, announced that he wants to expand current states' "no jab, no play" laws into nationwide legislation. "This is not a theoretical exercise - this is life and death," Turnbull told the BBC. "If a parent says, 'I'm not going to vaccinate my child,' they are not simply putting their child at risk, they are putting everybody else's children at risk too."

Currently in Australia, parents aren't legally required to vaccinate their children, but they can't receive childcare rebates unless they do so. However, that is not enough to protect all children, according to Turnbull. "Vaccination objection is not a valid exemption. We must give parents the confidence that their children will be safe when they attend childcare and preschool," Turnbull wrote in a letter to state leaders, according to the Guardian.

Turnbull made it clear in a speech to reporters that without a medical exemption, he doesn't want any unvaccinated child to be allowed in any childcare or preschool centers for "everybody's benefit."

"All of [some parents'] hard work can be undone by parents who do not have their children vaccinated," Turnbull said. "This has to be a concerted national effort by all government to ensure that all of our children are vaccinated. The result of that is a healthier, safer Australia."

This Is What Solved My Extreme Bloating Problem That 4 Doctors Couldn't Figure Out

A lot of things changed when I moved to San Francisco. I was much colder. I bought my first real jacket. I tried Philz Coffee for the first time. I started a new job. And, out of nowhere, my stomach started ballooning arbitrarily throughout the week making me look three-to-six-months pregnant at any given moment, for no apparent reason.

Things that didn't change: my diet, my exercise routine (OK, I started doing a lot more SoulCycle), and my overall health. I wasn't eating more food or less healthy food, so I knew it wasn't weight gain . . . especially when my pregnant-looking belly would mysteriously disappear by morning, and I was back to a flat stomach. But sometime during the day, I'd eat a peach or go to a cardio workout, and BAM: back to bloat. Biiiig bloat. I would snap photos to send to my mom (as you'll see below) because I couldn't believe what was happening to me, and I was horrified.

For 11 months, I wasn't comfortable with my body. I couldn't wear fitted clothing (aka, ALL of my activewear), because I knew at some point, my lower abdomen would jet out, and anyone who didn't know me would assume I was with child. I've been so afraid to eat, because I knew that anything could trigger my stomach, from a piece of fruit to a sip of sports drink. Yet then there would be days when I said "eff it!" and ate Cinnamon Toast Crunch and milk, and nothing happened. It made absolutely no sense.

I've never felt more more ashamed of my appearance, or more uncomfortable in my own skin . . . and I'm even ashamed to admit that! My body simply didn't feel like mine. And the worst part was that it didn't seem like there was an explanation or end in sight.

I never intended for these photos to see the light of day, but this is what I looked like end-of-day versus the next morning. I know my room is a mess. This was truly only supposed to be for my mom (she's mad about the mess, too).

I saw so many doctors and went through so many labs; my initial appointment was to see if it was hormonal. It wasn't. I saw an OB-GYN. I had two ultrasounds. I tried the low-FODMAPS diet (it didn't go well). I had my blood tested for a thyroid imbalance. My doctors were stumped, and I was frustrated to the point of many angry tears.

"For 11 months, I wasn't comfortable with my body . . . I've never felt more more ashamed of my appearance."

Two glimmers of hope seemed to come at once: my doctor referred me to a phenomenal GI, and one of my close friends referred me to an acupuncturist and naturopathic doctor here in the city. Although I had been through so many appointments and tests already with no results, I tried to remain optimistic. And these were still two avenues I hadn't tried!

First up was my acupuncture visit with Dr. Magnolia Ng of Advance Health SF, and then my GI appointment with gastroenterologist, Dr. Daniel Conlin. Two very different doctors from very different backgrounds seemed to know the source immediately: stress. It was the first time anyone had brought up the idea that something mental could trigger such a strong physical reaction, but they both seemed certain. Stress was the one factor that did come into play when I moved. Long-distance move to a new city, new job, new everything equals one stressed out me. I didn't even notice because everything has been so go-go-go.

Dr. Conlin didn't cut any corners in his approach, and he didn't just write me off saying, "you're stressed, just calm down!" and send me on my way after collecting a copay. He tested my blood and breath for celiac, SIBO, h. pylori, IBD, and post-infection bacterial overgrowth (everything came back negative). He asked me to eliminate dairy, despite the fact that he didn't really think I was lactose intolerant. He went through so many avenues, but kept coming back to the idea that it was probably stress-induced. I asked him if I was a "freak case" or if he had seen this in other patients, and he said, "You're definitely not alone; I see this in many young women your age, typically high-achieving, A-type college grads who work here [in San Francisco] in some kind of fast-paced tech or startup company." It was like he read my bio. He knew. I knew. It was stress.

Exhibit B of the stress bloating and the next morning's mystical disappearance. I swear I'm not usually this messy.

What I appreciated most about Dr. Conlin was his approach to treatment. He said if it was a celiac or SIBO case, he'd have different recommendations, but for me, he thought acupuncture, charcoal tablets, ginger root, and ginger tea, and specifically Align probiotics would be helpful in my treatment (he noted that it's the only brand he recommends, so I went with it). His openness to natural treatment despite coming from a Western background increased my trust in him and made me more comfortable in my health journey.

It was hard to explain to family and friends that stress was causing arbitrary abdominal distention, so I wanted to learn more. Apparently, an influx of stress can upset the microbiome (the ecosystem of good and bad bacteria in your gut, which can influence nearly all areas of your health). I spoke with Amie Valpone, nutritionist and founder of TheHealthyApple.com, who gave me some incredible insight as to what has been happening in my body. "Having too much non-beneficial bacteria in your gut has been linked to many health issues such as heart disease, fibromyalgia, eczema, asthma, depression, cancer, autoimmunity, allergies, obesity, autism, and allergies," she said . . . and in my case, inexplicable abdominal distention.

"We are so caught up in our busy lives that we don't realize how stressed out we are - that's when the health issues start to appear out of nowhere."

"When our microbiome is out of balance from stress, we get an imbalance of non-beneficial bacteria such as yeasts, parasites, and bad bacteria that take over and make us feel bloated, tired, and bring along a host of unwanted symptoms that range from person to person."

She went on to say that "change in diet, travel, processed foods, and stress from work, our family, friends, and so forth," can trigger this imbalance, but "we are so caught up in our busy lives that we don't realize how stressed out we are - that's when the health issues start to appear out of nowhere." It was amazing to hear those words of affirmation, because that's exactly what I had experienced. It was totally out of nowhere, and I truly had been so caught up in my busy life.

My gut was off thanks to stress, which caused the inexplicable bloating (that couldn't be attributed to anything I was eating) and the mission now was to use different natural remedies together to restore balance and get me out of a place of stress (that's a work in progress, honestly). "The goal is to address the underlying root cause of why your gut is imbalanced in the first place, instead of covering up your symptoms with a Band-Aid approach," said Amie. "That's where food, stress, mind-body practices, and probiotics come into play."

Dr. Ng had an additional approach to pair with my acupuncture treatments for both stress and energy blockages in my abdomen: Chinese herbs. She prescribed and gave me a bottle of Mu Xiang Shun Qi Pian, or "BloatEase," to take three times a day. "Emotional upset such as frustrations or worry, overwork, and a constitutional or genetic weakness can make a person prone to digestive disorders," she told me. The herbs and the acupuncture were intended to set things right again. She also mentioned to me the importance of using both traditional Eastern medicine in combination with Western medicine - and my recovery has been a testament to that.

The combination of treatment has been absolutely life changing for me. The Chinese herbs, probiotics, and acupuncture treatment (along with continuing to eat a balanced diet, getting enough sleep, and staying on my workout schedule) has helped restore my body to its natural shape. The bloating is going away, even though I still have to work on de-stressing. When it does happen, the bloating has decreased in size, severity, discomfort, and frequency, and I'm finally starting to feel comfortable with my body again.

What did I learn from all this? For one, Western and Eastern medicine aren't mutually exclusive, and in fact, when they're used together, they've got a symbiotic, 360 approach that can be even more effective than if either were used on their own.

I've also learned to advocate for my health. If you're not getting answers, don't give up. Make another appointment. Bug your doctor. Ask for another referral. Don't take no for an answer. The world of healthcare is freaking nuts, and if you don't advocate for yourself, no one else will. I got pretty lucky in the way that my doctors were really helpful and responsive when I pushed, but I still had to jump through a lot of hoops to get the treatment I needed. Don't be intimidated, don't give up, and most of all, don't stress. A solution is out there for you, too.

Let's Look Back at a Time When Eva Mendes DID Love the Red Carpet

Believe it or not, there was a time when Eva Mendes showed up at the red carpet more than once a year. Scroll ahead to do it with us by taking a look at some of Eva's most daring looks from the past 16 years.

Mom Adopts Terminally Ill Kitten to Teach Her Kids About Compassion

Although Wendy Bylsma wouldn't describe her or her husband as "cat people," the mom of five chose to adopt a terminally ill kitten with her kids to teach them about compassion. On a visit to the Best Friends Animal Society in Salt Lake City, UT, the Bylsma family spotted a tiny kitten all alone in its cage, so they asked to play with her, and the rest is history.

Shelter employees told the family that the kitten, who is now named Apple after Bylsma's 3-year-old's favorite snack, had contracted feline leukemia - a disease that significantly weakens the immune system - from her mother and likely wouldn't live very long, as there is no medication for the disease and her body isn't able to fight off other infections. Even more heartbreaking, Apple had already been adopted by another family, but once they learned she was sick, they brought her back to the no-kill shelter.

"When I saw this precious little kitten that had been returned, and we realized that no one was going to take this kitten because she was sick - that broke our hearts," Bylsma told TODAY. "The thought that she wasn't perfect so no one wanted her . . . that was such a huge and heavy thing on my heart."

So, in an effort to teach her five children - especially the youngest two, 3-year-old Graeme and 1-year-old Rhys - about compassion and helping others when no one else will, they took Apple home to love on her and give the little kitten the best life possible.

"My younger ones are so little . . . but I've already started the conversations with them about when Apple does pass away," said Bylsma. "I don't know if we'll tell them that she's gone to kitty heaven or what we'll say, but we hope they'll understand. This was such a great opportunity to teach our kids about helping others at a young age. Yes, it will be sad when Apple dies, but that's OK because we gave her a home. We loved her when no one else would love her. This is what the world needs more of."

Donald Trump Once Hit on Emma Thompson, and the Story Will Give You the Creeps

Just when you thought you couldn't be more repulsed by Donald Trump's interactions with women, another gross story drops from the heavens. British actress Emma Thompson recently appeared on Scandinavian TV show Skavlan, where the 57-year-old shared a story about the time the Sabrina the Teenage Witch guest star hit on her. Exactly one day after she split from first husband Kenneth Branagh, she received a call in her trailer on the set of the 1998 film Primary Colors (in which she plays a character loosely inspired by Hillary Clinton, coincidentally).

The phone rang and she heard a voice that said, "Hi, it's Donald Trump here," a sensation that Emma described as "like a moose had just entered my trailer" since that phone had never rung before. He offered her "some accommodation" in Trump Towers because "they're really comfortable" and finished off the call by saying, "Well, you know, I think we would get on very well. Maybe we could have dinner some time." Flustered, Emma declined. "I didn't know what to do with myself," she confessed. "I just said, 'OK, well, I'll get back to you. Thank you so much for ringing.'"

Although the reality star went on to meet his third wife, Melania Knauss, soon after asking Emma out, she wasn't the first woman from across the pond that he set his sights on. In August 2015, former BBC reporter Selina Scott revealed an interesting anecdote about her late friend Princess Diana in The Times. According to Selina, the beef salesman "bombarded Diana at Kensington Palace with massive bouquets of flowers, each worth hundreds of pounds" after her divorce from Prince Charles in 1996, because he saw her "as the ultimate trophy wife." Charming. Diana was quick to reject his advances, reportedly telling her friend, "He gives me the creeps." In his 1997 memoir The Art of the Comeback, he wrote that his "only one regret in the women department" was that he "never had the opportunity to court Lady Diana Spencer." Really, Donald? Just one regret?

This Beautyblender Storage Solution Is Almost Painfully Cute - and It's Only $5

Two little cuties - my sponge storage solution :) from MakeupAddiction

If you have a Beautyblender, you know that it can be a challenge to successfully store it. That's because it needs to dry thoroughly before being stashed away, lest you leave your tool susceptible to mold and bacteria. We've resorted to just leaving ours loose on a countertop, but we've been searching for a more savvy solution. And thanks to one Redditor, we've finally found it.

In a post to the MakeupAddiction subreddit, Reddit user wireless_woman showed off two stands she'd purchased for her blending tools that are both precious and practical. "Two little cuties," she shared. As you can see, the stands have bird-like legs, transforming your innocent sponge into the torso of a funky character that wouldn't be out of place in Monsters, Inc. "I'm actually really tempted to put googly eyes on them," she added.

Even better, these little storage options are available for purchase and incredibly affordable. They come as a duo and can be purchased right now from RoseGal for a mere $5.

Gordon Ramsay's Transformative Way to Scramble Eggs

Yes, there are a million different scrambled eggs techniques out there, but Gordon Ramsay's will be your full-stop method. While at a press event to promote his new game with Glu Mobile, I asked chef Ramsay to go through the proper way to scramble eggs. His unique method has a heartwarming tale:

"After training in London, I wanted to become French, so I went to the birthplace of all cuisine. I remember seeing this amazing dish with scrambled eggs and sea urchin. I tasted the sea urchin through the scrambled eggs . . . and they topped it with caviar. I thought it was wild. I had never put sea urchin in scrambled eggs. The texture was just incredible. It made it so much creamier. What was more accessible to the average person at home making scrambled eggs - I knew that was crème fraiche. I perfected that craft in France making scrambled eggs to order, standing in Guy Savoy's restaurant behind the line as a 22-year-old."

But crème fraiche isn't the only thing that makes these scrambled eggs different from the rest. It's cooked in a pot! The eggs aren't seasoned from the start! Most of the cooking is done off the flame! Are you baffled yet? Me too, which is why I had to try the method out for myself. So where to begin? Start by watching Gordon's YouTube video. He shared a hilarious story about it:

I think there's about 15 million people online who have [watched] that scrambled eggs video. And it transforms the way you eat eggs. Incredible. It's a kind of rich, sumptuous way to eat scrambled eggs even for dinner, even with all the steps. It's just delicious on sourdough bread. My video, with 15 million downloads on YouTube, I burn the f*cking toast. I'm not so far down my backside. I make mistakes. I just start again. It's funny. I'm so into my scrambled eggs, focusing away. Fire alarm is going off and I burn my toast."

Like Gordon, my first attempt didn't go off hitch-free. I'm unfortunately going to need a few more practices to end up with perfectly custardy, voluminous eggs like Gordon, but what I did make was truly exceptional and unlike any scrambled eggs I've ever had before. I can't wait to keep on practicing, and neither will you once you've memorized the steps.

The Lesson on Car Seat Safety That Every Parent Needs to See

No parent wants to imagine their baby's car seat being flipped upside down, but one mom is going viral for her eye-opening photos that are teaching parents an important lesson about car seat safety. Rachel McNamara shared two snapshots of her little one strapped into a car seat and being held both above her head as well as flipped upside down. Her point? to make parents consider an important question the next time they buckle their little one in: would the child be protected if the car rolled?

Rachel isn't telling parents that they should flip their little ones each time they get ready for a drive to ensure that they are properly restrained, but instead to keep in mind some vital safety tips. "Remember that the chest clip should be at armpit level and the straps should be tight enough to pass the pinch test," she wrote on Facebook. "[Parents] should feel confident that their child would be safe IF the car seat was flipped over in an accident. I think this is a great visual and shows just how important proper car seat use is."

Although Rachel notes that every car seat is different and that parents should always read the manual first, she reminds them that in most cases, the straps should be at or below their child's shoulders when they are rear facing. When they are forward facing, she notes that the straps should typically be at or above their shoulders.

She also clarifies that the "pinch test" is something that parents can do after the child is buckled in and the chest clip is in place. "You shouldn't be able to pinch any of the strap between two fingers," she wrote. "This test should be done near the shoulders. If you can pinch the strap here's what to do: move the chest clip back down, tighten the straps, move the chest clip back up, and test again."

Rachel also warns that proper car seat installation and which direction your baby is facing are equally important factors in car seat safety:

There should be less than an inch of movement of the car seat at the belt/latch path. Always use the top tether when forward facing. Only uses the latch system OR the seat belt to install your car seat. Never use both (with the exception of a few brands).

Check your car seat's manual. If you need help installing your car seat or have any questions about what seat would be best for your child or the best fit in your car, call your local Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST).

Rear facing as long as possible is always the safest option. Both the NHTSA and AAP recommend rear facing to the MINIMUM of 2 years old. But ideally they should rear face until they max out the seat's weight and height limits.

There is a common misconception that once a child's feet can touch the back of the seat that they need to be forward faced because their legs could become injured in an accident. This is simply not true. Their legs are actually LESS likely to sustain injuries while rear facing. Some people may say "my child looks so cramped rear facing". But truthfully toddlers are extremely flexible and can find very creative places to put their legs to get comfortable. Please consider extended rear facing your child. Car accidents are the leading cause of injury and death in children.

Rachel is surprised by the attention her post has gotten - and jokes that she would've changed her outfit if she knew it was going to go viral - but hopefully as the message is shared more parents will be able to ensure their children are safe as can be in their car seats!

Kat Von D to Makeup Revolution: "There's a Difference Between a Dupe and Straight-Up Plagiarism"

While everyone might know her for her incredible tattoo artistry and pigmented product line, the top characteristic I associate with Kat Von D is her unbridled passion for creativity. I recently had the opportunity to chat with her about her new Artistry Collective, and it was during that conversation that I became a superfan.

You see, Kat is not here to half-ass anything in life, and doesn't respect those who are. Above all, she works hard because her love of art and creation is what is motivating her. When I asked her to give advice to aspiring makeup artists on Instagram, she told me that above all, it's important to be yourself. "It's OK to be inspired by others," she told me, "but there's a difference between being inspired and being ripped off." She added, "It's important to do your homework and get better and better. A lot of people want to have direct results of success without actually doing the work. That's something I'm definitely turned off by."

That's why I was not even remotely surprised that she called out beauty brand Makeup Revolution on Instagram, accusing the company of ripping off one of her eye shadow palettes. However, after fans called her out for being so negative, she decided to make a lengthy follow-up video that not only explained her frustration, but gave deep insight into her creative process.

"I just think that there's a difference between a dupe and straight-up plagiarism."

Kat was personally offended by the dupe, because she puts her heart and soul into every product. "I wouldn't be so offended by that company if they just took the concept and called it inspiration and then created something on their own," she explained in the video. "I just think that there's a difference between a dupe and straight-up plagiarism." She pointed out that everything from the color selection and palette layout to the actual name of the product is almost identical.

"When we start normalizing something that is unjust," she said of the copycat brand, "that's not good. That's not how we should treat each other, whether it's a brand to another brand or a person to a person. We should treat each other with kindness."

Kat went on to explain that each thing she works on is her "baby." "I don't have children," she noted. "I don't have kids that I come home to and be like, 'I made you.' My products, my art, those are my babies, so I do feel I have a valid reason to be offended by that company."

From there, she went on to show her creative process, starting with a tour of her office. This included a peek at her vault of artwork that she's worked on for the brand, which houses many of the logos she's illustrated. "Everything is hand-drawn, not computer-generated at all," she said as she rifled past lettering of "Everlasting," "Serpentina," "Shade & Light," and other familiar text from her brand's packaging (in multiple drafts, showing the hard work she puts into each step).

She then revealed her testing station - her kitchen counter - which was covered with tubes, palettes, and vials of both initial prototypes and final products. (We even get sneak peeks at a bunch of new Kat Von D products coming down the pipeline!) Kat concluded her creative tour with selections of images from photo shoots, which she does for every single product in her range.

"It's not just like, 'oh, I get to play with lipstick!'" she said of the process. "No, dude, there's intensive involvement that goes behind every single product. I just pour myself into everything I've ever created for you guys."

Kat acknowledged that many fans recommend she lowers her price points so that other brands stop copying her, but she doesn't believe that will prevent imitations. But she fairly pointed out that there's "a certain price to pay for a certain quality," and that she works really hard to make her products accessible, changing the packaging or other features of an item to make it as affordable as possible.

"I know what it's like to not be able to afford makeup," she said. "People want to sit there and be like, 'Oh, your white privilege is showing.' First of all, I'm not white, I'm f*cking Latina, so those kinds of comments are obnoxious, and also, as far as being privileged, there's a difference between growing up in luxury . . . I was born in Mexico with like, dirt floors." She went on, "I know what it's like . . . I couldn't even afford drugstore brands when I was a kid." She appreciates those who take time to save money for items that they really want because she can relate.

I find it extremely satisfying - and empowering - to hear a brand founder speak about her products like this. It's not rare for someone to own a makeup company to be an artist, but not many would defend their creative process in a 20-minute YouTube video like this. Yes, Kat is dedicated to producing quality formulas for her fans, but it's clear to me that she works even harder for herself and for the satisfaction of creating excellence.

In our chat, she told me, "If you actually stick to something and work hard and really dedicate yourself to something so holy, you have no idea what's around the corner." That is basically the description of Kat's career, as her success is self-made.

Kat wants you to know, though, that this video doesn't come from a spiteful or petty place. It's more out of a hope to inspire change. "My intention is never to inspire negativity," she said. "Ultimately, my goal is to inspire people and to stand up for what I think is right." After all, only good can come of Kat's call for competitors to be more creative! More innovative concepts on the market mean more exciting makeup options at every price point, which is something any beauty junkie can get behind.

Why Now is the Time to Start Watching Game of Thrones

If you're one of those people that's been "meaning" to get into Game of Thrones but just haven't found the time to start, consider this your impetus to finally start your journey into Westeros. With a few months to go before the season seven premiere, now is the perfect time to get yourself caught up just in time for the final 13 episodes. It may seem like a daunting task to commit yourself to 60 hours of television just as the weather is warming up, but trust me - once you pop you won't be able to stop. Need more convincing? Here are all the reasons you shouldn't wait another minute.

This is going to be a hot topic of conversation for the next year and a half

Sure, Game of Thrones has been a water-cooler show from the get-go, but with the series coming to a close, the world is going to be talking about it more than ever. Besides the fact that the show is great and you'll likely be hooked right away, you'll also have a lot more to discuss with your cousins at family BBQs, so it's a win-win. Which brings me to my next point . . .

You don't want to be one of those people who waits until it's over to start watching.

You know that feeling you get when you start watching a show and all you want to do is talk to someone about it? If you start now, you can get in on that excitement for the show's final seasons. If you wait, your friends and family will sigh and roll their eyes at you as you demand that they call you Khaleesi from now on and keep telling them that Winter is coming. (Or worse, they'll spoil stuff for you.)

There's plenty of time before the season 7 premiere to catch up in a timely fashion

If you're the kind of person who's not into extreme binge-watching (what, do you have a job or something?) then now is the ideal time to begin GOT. We've got just under four months to go until the July 16 premiere, which means you only need to watch four to five episodes a week, and you'll finish right in time to slide into the new season.

You only have to participate in one year-long wait for episodes

With only 13 episodes left in the series, the end of our time in Westeros is fast approaching. Dedicated viewers who have been with the series since 2011 know the particular pain of watching an epic season come to a close, only to wait patiently for the better part of the year until another we're treated to another 10 episodes. That said, the wait between seasons - where we theorize, dissect, and agonize over every minute detail - is a rite of passage for a true GOT fan.

You'll get to experience the finale with the rest of the world

Even if you've already heard rumblings about red weddings, white walkers, or the fate of Jon Snow, you still have a chance to watch the grand finale in a completely unspoiled format. The final episodes are not only going to be epic, but they're going to be making unavoidable headlines everywhere.

So what are you waiting for?

The Trailer For Netflix's JonBenét Ramsey Documentary Will Send Chills Down Your Spine

After the viral success of Netflix's Making a Murderer, the streaming giant is dipping its toes back into true crime for an in-depth look at the infamous, unsolved murder of JonBenét Ramsey with Casting JonBenet. It's been 21 years since the 6-year-old beauty queen was found murdered in her family home, but interest in her death has far from waned. In 2016, a number of TV specials aired about her, but Netflix's feature-length documentary - which has the same slick, stylized, look its docs are becoming known for - is a hybrid of fiction and nonfiction filmmaking that took place over the course of 15 months in Ramsey's Colorado hometown. It aims to figure out why this crime's legacy continues to capture the nation's attention, and the official trailer and teaser will leave you unsettled, to say the least. It arrives on Netflix on April 28.

The Tool This Comedian Uses to Bring People Together

Writing good comedy is hard. Beyond grappling with stage fright and memorizing your material, there's an entirely new challenge built around your audience. How well do you know them? Will you be able to make them laugh?

On Knock Knock, Rachel Antonoff's new series from POPSUGAR and Watchable, New York-based actor and comedian Jordan Carlos talks about how he uses comedy to bring people together. He spends a lot of time prepping - sometimes a minute of comedy can take him days and weeks to complete - and sticks with benign topics.

"If you talk about the most basic things that are universal, then we can have a great hour together," he explains to Rachel. "What I try to do is give people an escape, so I'll be like, 'let's talk about animals.'" What exactly does he say about animals? It walks the line, so you'll have to watch the clip to find out. His approach, however, is universally appealing.

Kid's Hilarious Reaction to Realizing Adult Meals Don't Come With Ice Cream

Title

An 8-year-old boy had the most dramatic reaction to realizing just how hard it is to be an adult - and we are living for it. In a post to Imgur, the unnamed boy can be seen with his head down on the table, a mostly eaten adult-size personal pizza sitting in ruins in front of him.

On the photo, his parent, Imgur user Cindy21, wrote: "My 8-year-old just realized that ordering an adult meal means he doesn't get the free ice cream that comes with the kids' meals. Welcome to the real world, kid."

Yes, kiddo, welcome. (But should we tell him now that a perk to being an adult means you can eat ice cream whenever you want? Too soon? OK.)

The "Hands to Myself" singer, who is busier than ever with a producer gig for Netflix's 13 Reasons Why and a new album in the works, is just giving us one great street style look after another one - the fact that she's an ambassador for Coach might have something to do with that.

These Peeks of Jason Momoa as Aquaman Prove That He's the Perfect Casting Choice

In case his crazy Justice League workout regimen or the first look behind the scenes didn't convince you that Jason Momoa is perfect for the role of DC Comics' Aquaman (a trident-wielding half-god also known as Arthur Curry), we've rounded up all the peeks we've gotten at the highly anticipated Atlantian hero. Momoa's hulking stature, no-nonsense gaze, and ability to rock tattoos lend him the perfect look for embodying director Zack Snyder's new take on the beloved hero, and the actor's pioneering attitude and respect for the sea mean that he's inwardly suited for the role also.

Both interviews with Momoa and social media snaps about about his new role reveal that he's ridiculously excited to pick up Aquaman's trident - especially because he'll be able to portray his Polynesian heritage in the role. Check out these incredible moments from the filming of Justice League: Part One and Aquaman's brief appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. 7 Things You Don't Know About Panera Bread, Straight From an Employee

If you've ever wondered what it's like behind the counter at Panera Bread, you'll enjoy the insider secrets from this employee's Reddit AMA. During the "Ask Me Anything" conversation online, a person who works at Panera Bread answered questions about the truth about the crazy-delicious mac and cheese, the one thing you should avoid ordering, and what the company does with all its unsold bread at the end of the day. Here are the answers to some of your burning Panera Bread questions, straight from someone who knows best.

The reason the mac and cheese is SO good is . . . calories.

When asked why the mac and cheese is "so f*cking good," the Panera employee said, "It's very good because it isn't that healthy for you. It has a lot of calories tbh."

Also, it arrives at the store frozen.

"They aren't lying when they say that all their food is 100 percent clean so nothing is bad for you. However, that doesn't mean that all the food is good for you. The mac and cheese, for example, comes into the store premade and frozen in a bag and it is heated either in boiling water or the microwave if need be."

There are two things customers do that drive employees CRAZY.

"Two things. The first is when we make a small mistake and they completely lose their minds. If we make a mistake of any kind, we'll do everything that we can to fix it and make it up to you, no need to cause a scene just because we forgot to give you a fork. The second is when customers come in 10 minutes before close and order a ton of food then eat in store."

The one thing you should never order past lunchtime? Avocado.

"Avacados usually sit out open for a number of hours. They are fine around lunchtime but as the day goes on, they get older."

The employee discount is really good.

"I honestly would never eat at Panera if I didn't have an employee discount (70 percent)."

Your soup could possibly get sneezed in if you annoy the employees . . .

When asked, "How many sneezes per soup?" the employee responded, "Depends on how annoying the customer is." Hopefully, that's a joke!

Panera donates all of its extra bread at the end of the day.

"Yes, at the end of the day we donate all our unused bread to a homeless shelter."

8 Things You Don't Know About Aldi, Straight From an Insider Employee

We reached out to an Aldi spokeswoman, Liz Ruggles, to find out the answers to our burning questions. How is it possible that everything is so cheap?! Turns out, there's a good reason for that and for the mandatory quarter per cart . . . oh, and for the self-bagging, too. Curious about the behind the scenes of one of the most budget-friendly grocery stores in America, one that attracts 32 million customers each month? Read ahead to get the scoop.

There's a reason prices are so low.

"We're obsessed with value, and by taking a simple approach to grocery shopping, we're able to keep our costs down. We don't have hidden expenses because we choose to save shoppers money rather than have nonessential grocery store services like in-store banking, pharmacies, and check cashing. We also skip the fancy shelving and keep our products right in their display boxes, which saves us (and our shoppers) time and money. We are dedicated to reducing our impact on the environment. So we ask our shoppers to bring their own reusable grocery bags or buy a few at checkout to use for all their trips to Aldi. At our stores, shoppers also pack their own groceries to keep our checkout lines moving."

There's a strategy behind the mandatory purchase of a cart for a quarter.

"Shoppers deposit a quarter to use a cart at our stores, and when they return the cart to the corral, they get their quarter back. This saves everyone money because our staff can focus on serving shoppers inside the store instead of collecting the carts from outside of the store. For many people, this becomes an opportunity to pay it forward. Our shoppers will often just pass their cart onto the next shopper, instead of returning it to the corral."

Aldi has in-house test kitchen chefs.

"We have in-house taste testers, aka our Aldi Test Kitchen Chefs. Our chefs hit pause on developing recipes at least twice a year to taste the quality of our products before they hit the shelves - every single Aldi product. They want to make sure our brands are as good, if not better, than the national brands."

You can return any Aldi-exclusive product for a full refund.

"We're so confident in the quality of our products that we offer a double guarantee, which means if for any reason customers don't like an Aldi-exclusive brand product, we'll give them their money back and replace the item."

Aldi donates expired foods.

"Each of our divisions has the option to contribute to local charities, donate product to causes in their areas, and encourage employees to volunteer with local community organizations. In 2015, we also grew our partnership with Feeding America to make it easier for our stores to donate expired or lightly damaged product to food banks in our communities."

The best way to save money is to buy Aldi-exclusive brands.

"Smart shoppers have found that switching from national brands to Aldi-exclusive brands can save them up to 50 percent on their grocery bill. We also have Aldi Finds - these premium food and household products are only in stores for a limited time. Product variety depends on the season, and there's usually a theme for the week's Finds. For example, starting Dec. 7, we have some great gift options."

Fresh produce is among the bestselling products.

"In 2015, our top selling products included staple items such as eggs, milk, and butter, as well as our fresh produce items such as strawberries, bananas, grapes, and oranges. Additionally, with our Never Any! product line, we offer fresh meat that never contains added antibiotics, hormones, or animal byproducts."

There's no MSG, artificial coloring, or hydrogenated oil in Aldi's products.

"Aldi got rid of added MSG, certified synthetic colors, and partially hydrogenated oils from all of our exclusive brand food products. And more than 90 percent of the products on our shelves are under our exclusive brands."
