Every Single Look Joan Smalls Wore This Fashion Week
There would be no fashion week without Puerto Rican model Joan Smalls. The beauty is a staple on the top runways of New York, Paris, Milan, and London Fashion Weeks, having walked for designers like Miu Miu, Lanvin, Michael Kors, and of course, Balmain.
For the Spring 2018 season, Joan kicked off her busy schedule by walking the Tom Ford show in two looks and even showing off her amazing off-duty style at the afterparty. With Fashion Month only just beginning, we're sure Joan's next few weeks will only bring on more stylish moments.
7 Gel Manicure Mistakes That Are Ruining Your Nails
There are many reasons I love a gel manicure, but a few in particular stand out. I'm obsessed that they require zero drying time, which equates to zero probability of smudging. They last for at least two weeks. That enduring glossy finish gets me to book salon visits over and over again. But when it comes time to take off the lacquer, I admittedly get a little lazy. When choosing between squeezing a removal appointment into a busy schedule or picking and peeling on my way home from work, I'm often guilty of the latter.
It turns out that's not the only error I've been making when it comes to gel polish. Chances are, you - and your favorite salon! - are making some of them, too. That's precisely why I enlisted the help of celebrity manicurist Elle. The nail tech (who has painted the talons of Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, and Blake Lively) revealed that seemingly simple things can cause your gels and natural nails to prematurely crack and peel. But when applied and cared for correctly, these glossy lacquers aren't harmful to your claws at all. Read on to discover her top nail-saving tips.
10 Aluminum-Free Deodorants That Actually Keep You Stink Free
You can't talk about natural deodorants without a quick lesson in B.O. 101. First you need to know the difference between a deodorant and an antiperspirant. An antiperspirant has chemicals like aluminum to stop sweating altogether. The aluminum salts plug the sweat glands, preventing perspiration. On the other hand, a deodorant masks and neutralizes odor. But where does the stink come from in the first place? When the glands in your armpits emit sweat, the liquid interacts with the bacteria in the area to emit unsavory smells.
Natural deodorants use essential oils like tea tree and witch hazel to curb the bacteria. Some also have other less harmful minerals like zinc ricinoleate and sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) to keep the underarm area dry without stopping sweat altogether. In addition to getting rid of aluminum, most are also paraben free and safe for sensitive skin. If you're thinking about giving up antiperspirant, start with these 10 formulas that actually keep the stink at bay.
Kelly Clarkson's "Love So Soft" Video Is the Most Gorgeous Thing You'll See All Week
Do you hear that? It's the sound of thousands of people sobbing with happiness (but especially me) that Kelly Clarkson has returned with a new single. Oh, and not only a single, but also an incredibly glam music video to go along with it. "Love So Soft" is her debut single from Meaning Of Life, her first with Atlantic Records after signing a deal with them back in 2016. According to Clarkson herself, this will be her best album yet, and if this song is any indication, I'm inclined to believe her.
The 45-Minute Running Workout You Need to Finally Ditch Your Belly Fat
You've overstayed your welcome, belly fat. If you've been running consistently but still, you look down and can pinch an inch (or several) from your middle, it's time to kick that gut to the curb. Crunches aren't the answer, so change things up by adding high-intensity intervals to your routine. We recommend doing this 45-minute running workout outside; not only will it help diminish your waistline, doing speed intervals will also help increase speed and endurance.
After completing a five-minute walking warmup, repeat the below minute-long workout 35 times, and end with a five-minute walking cooldown.
| Time | Pace | Calories Burned |
|---|---|---|
| 30 seconds | Walk briskly (about 4.6 mph) | 3 |
| 20 seconds | Run moderately (about 6.7 mph) | 4 |
| 10 seconds | Sprint as fast as you can (about 8.6 mph) | 2.7 |
Calories burned per minute: 9.7
Calories burned for warmup and cooldown: 50
Total calories burned: 389.5

Why the New White Character in Disney's Live-Action Aladdin Is Infuriating Fans
Disney's live-action Aladdin reboot based on the 1992 animated film is facing another casting controversy. A few months after reportedly "struggling" to find an actor of color to play the title character (Egyptian-born Canadian actor Mena Massoud was later chosen), Disney has created a brand-new character to add to the beloved story: Prince Anders, played by Ingrid Goes West actor Billy Magnussen.
Although Magnussen has some experience playing a prince - he appears as Rapunzel's royal love interest in 2014's Into the Woods - fans are understandably upset with the studio's decision. For many, the move feels like a way for Disney to shoehorn a white character into a story that's celebrated for predominantly featuring Middle Eastern characters. With all the added backlash from the previous casting scandal, which a lot of people still aren't happy about (Jasmine is being played by British actress Naomi Scott, who is of Indian instead of Middle Eastern descent), it seems that the Guy Ritchie-directed movie just can't seem to stay out of hot water.
Fortunately, Magnussen, who has yet to respond to the backlash other than retweeting The Hollywood Reporter's casting announcement, isn't taking on a role that was originally intended for a nonwhite actor (like Scarlett Johansson's much-maligned performance in Ghost in the Shell). Still, countless fans took to Twitter to point out how it's yet another example of whitewashing in the movie industry.

This Japanese Princess Has Officially Given Up Her Royal Title For True Love
Twenty-five-year-old Princess Mako of Japan has officially announced her engagement, confirming that she will abandon her royal title to marry a commoner. The princess, who met 25-year-old Kei Komuro during college, described her initial attraction to her fiancé to the press during the announcement:
I was first attracted to his bright smiles that seemed like the sun. It would be nice to have a warm and comfortable household with Mr. Komuro, so that we can make a family full of smiles.
Princess Mako also told press outlets that she has always known that she would eventually abandon her royal status, thanks to a Japanese law that requires women in the royal family to give up their titles when they marry commoners. Kei reportedly proposed to Mako back in 2013, but the princess's grandfather, Emperor Akihito, did not officially approve the engagement until Sept. 3.
Rumors that Princess Mako would abandon her royal status have been swirling for months, and now that the couple has official permission from the Imperial family, they can begin planning their wedding. Watch the couple's romantic announcement here.

This "Lazy Mom's Sign" For Her Son's First Day of Preschool Is the Definition of Phoning It In
Is it not enough that we get our kids up, fed, dressed, and out the door on the first day of school? Now we have to add a fancy Instagram-ready personalized sign and a lengthy photo shoot to the rushed morning routine?
It might seem that Meg Rowe did her best to fall in line with all the other moms on social media, but when she posted her kiddo's back-to-school photo on Facebook, it was a breath of fresh air. Sure, her 2-year-old son Teddy looked ridiculously cute (those suspenders!) and had the sweetest toothy smile on his face, but the "Mom's Lazy Sign" propped up next to him was the most glorious definition of phoning it in.
She didn't bother measuring or weighing her son (why would you when you already know he's a 7 out of 10 on the lower back pain scale?) to give her makeshift board accurate 2017 stats. Nope, instead, Teddy's first day of "pre-pre-K" is what it is. Honestly, Meg is probably just relieved she remembered to tack on the date at the last minute.
If you're feeling the pressure to snap a similar pic of your kid, make like Meg and do it the lazy way.
At Disney, Halloween's Most Polarizing Candy Is Served as Soft Serve
People have a lot of strong feelings about candy corn. The seasonal candy's worth is often debated by those who like the waxy treat and those who just can't stand it. Those who actually like candy corn, however, will be delighted by Disney's mesmerizing ice cream iteration.
Parks throughout the nation have been selling candy corn soft serve for several years now, particularly leading up to the nighttime Halloween festivities held at both Disneyland and Magic Kingdom. The eye-catching dessert swirls together vanilla and candy corn ice cream. It's sometimes even topped with real candy corn pieces! While people who don't like candy corn might want to steer clear, the ice cream has won over a few folks - including the Disney Food Blog - who don't like the candy because of the texture.
If you're intrigued, feast your eyes on a few lovely pictures of the creative soft serve ahead.

Ciara Shows Off Her Postbaby Body at NYFW 5 Months After Giving Birth
Ciara looked all sorts of beautiful when she stepped out at the Tom Ford runway show during New York Fashion Week on Wednesday night. The singer worked her postbaby body on the red carpet before heading inside the star-studded show, which also brought out pal Kim Kardashian. Not only did the event mark Ciara's first public appearance since welcoming her second child, daughter Sienna Princess Wilson, with husband Russell Wilson back in April, but it was also the first time we saw Kim since her exciting baby news broke earlier in the day. Sadly, Russell didn't make an appearance - perhaps he stayed home with Ciara's son, Future?
Chris Evans Reuniting With His Dog Is the Purest Joy You'll Ever Experience
Chris Evans isn't shy about loving his rescue dog, Dodger. The Captain America actor counted down on Twitter until the end of his latest press tour, when he could finally go home and see his best friend again . . . and, man! The joyful reunion was everything we'd hoped for and more. It seems that Dodger was just as pumped to see his owner as Chris was to see him, and the video of the reunion that Chris posted to Twitter is beyond sweet. Prepare to get teary as the two roll around together on the floor, and you won't be able to help giggling along as Chris can't stop laughing.

This Fit Couple Got Married at the Same Place Their Love Story Began - Planet Fitness
When it came time for Joe and Stephanie to figure out where to get married, there was really only one option for this Ohio couple: the place where they met and fell in love, which just so happened to be their local Planet Fitness.
The couple met at their gym a few years ago and soon made it their date spot. They would meet there and work out together, all the while falling in love and eventually having a child. Joe even told Stephanie he loved her for the first time in the parking lot at that Planet Fitness. "I love clean cars; hers was filthy, and we walked outside and I just wrote on the top of her car that I love you," Joe said in a video Planet Fitness shared on YouTube.
After Joe proposed, Stephanie knew right away that her dream was to get married at their Planet Fitness. She admitted that she checked a few other venues but eventually asked the gym if they could wed there, thinking that it probably wouldn't happen. But because the Planet Fitness staff aims to make dreams come true, they told Joe and Stephanie they'd be happy to have the wedding there, and one of the staff members even officiated.
This couple will always hold their local gym near and dear to their hearts because it brought them love - amazing, right? - and it also brought them a totally unique wedding experience that was so totally them. They're living proof that the couple who works out together stays together.
The Top 4 Workouts to Avoid If You're Trying to Lose Weight
We encourage all types of fitness, for more reasons than just weight loss. While weight loss is an awesome side effect of working out and living a healthier lifestyle, exercise can benefit your brain, your mood, your sleep, and your overall health, too!
However, if you're focusing on dropping pounds, are there types of exercises you should flat-out avoid? We asked certified personal trainer John Rowley - International Sports Science Association (ISSA) director of wellness and founder of UX3 Nutrition - for his opinion on the matter. While we still encourage anyone to give these workouts a shot (in fact, we love all of them!), these four may not give you the results you're looking for if weight loss is your top priority.
- CrossFit: "CrossFit is number one on the hit list," Rowley said in an email. "The risk-to-results ratio just isn't there." If you're just beginning your weight-loss journey, you likely won't have the strength to get an effective workout without injuring yourself. "It's very popular, and I can see how fun and challenging it is," he noted. "But the way the exercises are done is very dangerous, especially for someone not in tiptop shape."
- Yoga: Rowley explained that yoga "has a lot of benefits, but losing weight is not one of them." Although you'll gain strength and tone up, if you're aiming to shed pounds, "you want to work as much of your body as possible to lose weight and to stimulate your metabolism," and Rowley said yoga is not the most effective way to do so.
- Indoor Cycling: While indoor cycling classes are great for exercise veterans, Rowley said, "they can get out of control as well," and the format of the classes can put you at risk for injury. "The rooms can get too hot, the movements can be too aggressive for some, and any vigorous exercise will make you hungry." More on that hunger in the next point . . .
- Cardio-Only Routines: Rowley said these should be avoided if your only goal is weight loss. Why? The munchies. "Cardio will help burn calories but can often make you hungry, leading to excessive calorie-consuming after workouts," putting you at a higher risk for undoing your progress. Additionally, if you're only doing cardio and not balancing with strength training, it can lead to muscle loss. "The loss of muscle destroys your metabolism; if you are going to do cardio, do it in conjunction with a well thought-out weight training workout."
Again, we love (and do) each of these workouts - and you absolutely can lose weight doing any of them. But if your number one goal is weight loss, Rowley warned, you might want to reprioritize your workout schedule.
So what should you do? "The only way for lasting, healthy weight loss that will change your body composition is through resistance training," Rowley said. "Lifting weights stimulates your muscles; your muscles burn calories even when you are eating and resting." We encourage you to be open to all types of workouts - get comfortable with movement of all types! But start with a good, healthy balance of strength training (as recommended by this trainer) and a bit of cardio to help build up your endurance so you can keep shedding pounds and crush your goals.
17 Funny (and Punny!) Halloween Costume Ideas For Your Friend Group
If you're a Halloween-loving lady, you may fall into one of two camps when it comes to cooking up a costume. Yep, she can do it faster than you can say Spongebob SquareBootyShorts.
The second type of Halloween gal belongs to Team Funny Costume. She doesn't care how ridiculous she looks, as long as it makes you laugh - and everything is funnier as a team effort. 13 Disneyland Rides That Have Been There Since Opening Day
It's hard to imagine Disneyland in its humble beginnings. The Anaheim, CA, theme park currently boasts an estimated 60 different attractions, but when it first opened on July 17, 1955, that number was much lower - much, much lower. The official number is debated online, however, Disneyland definitively housed 13 attractions on opening day. While that may seem underwhelming now, these imaginative attractions absolutely mystified all those who entered. Ahead, learn more about the classic rides and attractions that have been there since day one.

Kit Harington and Rose Leslie Head Out in London, and Holy Kit, His Jeans Are Tight!
We've seen a surprising amount of Kit Harington's backside recently. Those infamous and long-awaited scenes in episode 7 of series 7 of Game of Thrones gave us a close-up look at Jon Snow's perky posterior, and it wasn't the first time he'd bared his bum on screen. Back in series 3, Jon and Ygritte got steamy in a cave, and today Kit was back with his wildling lover, flashing that bum once again as he and his girlfriend and former costar Rose Leslie ran errands close to their London home. Nope, he didn't get naked, but he may as well have, given how tight his jeans were! Those skinnies left very little to the imagination and gave us serious GOT flashbacks. See for yourself now, for a little proof that though Winter is here, Kit's still hot.
Here's Something to Truly "Believe" In: A Cher Cameo on AHS: Cult
Image Source: Getty / John Shearer / BBMA2017
Look at Cher. Look at this icon with her beauty and her very big hair and her legendary pipes. Cher's legacy extends for decades and decades and decades. She won an Oscar for Moonstruck. She's penned some of the most impeccable pop hits in history. Hell, she even slays the stage at 71 years old. At this point, it's like, what else can she do? I'll tell you exactly what she can do: she can appear on American Horror Story: Cult. No, this is not some weird pipe dream I'm living out for literally no reason. Actually, I'm here because murmurs on the internet have been speculating about a Cher cameo on AHS for weeks. And as far as I'm concerned, the pile of evidence is only getting bigger. Put on your detective hat, Watson. I'm about to lay it all out.
1. The Family Connection
Cher's son Chaz Bono actually has a pretty meaty role in Cult. Of course, this isn't his first time on the show (he played a member of the Polk family in Roanoke), but as far as I'm concerned, that's more evidence in my favor. Now that Bono has established himself as part of the AHS family, it's the perfect time to get his mom in on the game.

2. The Mysterious Set Photo
For quite some time, a mysterious photo from the set has been floating around. At this point, it's hard to trace the source (who posted it and when?), but what matters more is the content. There are a bunch of actors' chairs in the shot; the names of Cheyenne Jackson, Evan Peters, Alison Pill, and other crucial cast members have already been identified.
If you look to the far right, you'll just barely be able to make out an unclaimed chair. The text is very short. It's just one word, maybe about four letters in length. I mean, it has to be a Cher chair (a Cheir?). Granted, it's not definitive proof that she's in the show. Maybe she just visited the set for a day. But I'm pretty sure that's a Cheir and you're going to have to work hard to convince me otherwise.
3. The Cryptic Tweets
Now that we've established that Cher was almost certainly on set, let's see if we can prove she's going to be on the show. At the beginning of August, the star really ignited rumors by tweeting, "My 'For Fun' Surprise Project,First wk Sept." By now, we know Cher doesn't appear in the premiere of AHS: Cult. Even so, she could have just been saying that's when the show begins airing and that she's somewhere in between.
OK, fine. I'll admit that her absence in the premiere is a glaring hole in my investigation. She does insinuate it's happening in the first week of September. And she doesn't even say it's a TV thing! But lo and behold, I have another tweet to present as evidence.
News, has pace.1.Cartoon,2. Cool-fun tv thing with gorge man & CLASSIC SONG,3. Film cameo & CLASSIC SONG. Poss Australia tour,GREAT FILM NY❤️
- Cher (@cher) August 22, 2017
AHA! Note that this tweet, from Aug. 22, confirms that she's involved in a "fun TV thing" with a "gorge man." And, I mean, I don't know about you, but there are plenty of gorgeous men in the cast of Cult. I'd also like to note that the first week of September is almost over and this supposed project hasn't surfaced yet. Cher could still appear in one of the coming weeks. Consider also this tweet from just after the premiere in which Cher says she might appear on the show one day if she's "lucky." But Cher is so tongue-in-cheek and sassy on Twitter, I'm almost reading this like she's bouncing her eyebrows at me while she's saying it.
4. The Cast Cher Concert Extravaganza
Um, can we talk about how the whole cast of Cult attended a Cher concert together? It's easy to assume that Cher's son Chaz pulled this off by himself. Maybe he just called in a favor. But it's even more possible that Cher did her little cameo and then invited the cast to her concert as a thank you for being so awesome and professional and gracious.
5. The Sound Logic, Duh
All things aside, if you think about it, it just makes sense. American Horror Story has used stunt casting in plenty of situations. Think about the impressive slate of guest stars ranging from Naomi Campbell and Darren Criss in Hotel to f*cking Stevie Nicks and Patti Lupone in Coven. Even Patti LaBelle was in Freak Show! This is a show that loves to host divas, and Cher is the perfect fit.
But we can go deeper. Cher has brilliant acting chops. She won an Oscar, damn it! She could absolutely hold her own. And with the noted absence of Lady Gaga this year, we're missing that pop queen vitality that's invigorated the past couple of seasons.
I'm sticking to my guns. I'm ready for my Cher cameo.
I Was Stranded in the ATL Airport For 48 Hours - This Is What I Learned
As someone who flies more than 50,000 miles every year, I've experienced my fair share of flight delays. It's usually just a minor inconvenience, and I'll never pass up a good excuse to indulge in a glass of wine or an overpriced neck massage. But this past March, while laying over in Atlanta after a quick girls' getaway to Spain, a system-wide computer glitch coupled with a massive thunderstorm left me, along with thousands of others, stranded for days. Not hours, not just overnight, but days. I thought I was a pretty solid flier before, but after nearly 48 hours in the Hartsfield-Jackson Airport (which happens to be one of the busiest in the world), I will humbly admit I still had a lot to learn.
You never know when travel misfortune will strike, and if the issue leaves several flights grounded, chances are hotels in the area book up fast. So if you find yourself stuck in an airport for an extended period of time, maybe what I learned from my two-day "travelmare" can help.
- Always carry on the essentials. Not only grooming basics like a toothbrush, mouthwash, face wash, sleeping eye mask, etc., but anything else that can help calm your nerves. For me, a soothing blend of essential oils was an absolute lifesaver when I found my stress levels start to rise.
- Keep healthy, filling snacks on you. This is pretty standard travel advice, but after massive flight cancellations, the food lines wills be exceptionally long. Be sure to have snacks that will fill you up, because few things add to stress more than hunger! It's also smart to travel with an empty water bottle - flight delays or not - to avoid shelling out $4 a pop.
- Keep it friendly. The customer service reps are all working overtime, dealing with very angry crowds, and in most cases are just as stressed out as you. A little kindness goes a long way with them.
- Do your own research. Be on the lookout for flight alternatives, and try to get them taken care of yourself. Check the monitors for other flights or airports in the general area, and if you find one that works, go directly to the gate agent for that flight. Even if it's sold out, keep at it! Missed connections will typically open up seats at the last minute.
- Always travel with a cozy sweatshirt, even in the Summer. Luckily I stuffed one of the cheap airline blankets in my backpack before deboarding, or else things would have gotten really uncomfortable. Airport temperatures always seem to be extreme; it's either frosty and frigid or high noon in the desert. So if you don't end up wearing your extra layer, you can use it as a pillow or barrier between you and the ground if you need to catch some zzz's.
- Bring a portable phone charger, as the outlets fill up fast. There are tons of options under $30 on Amazon.
- I quickly learned that while some customer service representatives are closed off to "outside of the box" options, others were willing to work with me. Again, that's where the kindness comes into play. So if one person tells you no, try and try again!
- Know your flight isn't going to take off anytime soon? Beeline for an airline club or lounge. Many travel credit cards give you access, but even if you don't have one, it's worth the $50 day pass. Because showers. Need I say more? (But also, complimentary food, drinks, WiFi, nice bathrooms, etc. The list goes on)
- Call the next day for compensation. If it's strictly a weather delay, you probably won't be able to get anything in return. However, even for mechanical or computer issues, airlines typically won't freely offer compensation. You need to ask for it. Because this particular case was so extreme, the airline did offer every traveler that day 20,000 miles, but when I called, they gave me an additional $200 traveler voucher.
- Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, don't stress over things that are not within your control. Be proactive, yes. Look for solutions. But if there's nothing you can do, simply breathe, stretch, mediate, read a book, have a drink, do whatever relaxes you, and let it go.
Starbucks Unveils the Cutest Matcha Snack We've Ever Seen - but There's a Catch
There's something about matcha that no matter what form it's in, it's always both aesthetically pleasing and delicious. Add in the magic of Starbucks, and that's when we start drooling. On April 1, Starbucks locations in Japan added a matcha pudding to their menus, and we're adding it to our list of reasons we need to move to Japan.
The adorable, pint-size packages come in three variations, each with a unique inspirational quote: "Each day is a gift," "It's time to start!," and "Make someone's day." It's unknown how long the matcha pudding will be available or if it will make its way to other countries, but for now, we'll just swoon at the adorable cups on Instagram and stick with the Starbucks Matcha Pink Drink in the United States. Keep reading to see photos of the delectable matcha pudding and indulge in some high-quality matcha porn for yourself!

Starbucks Covers In Vitro Treatment For All Employees - That's a Seriously Venti Benefit
Getting in vitro fertilization treatment is expensive - like, at least $12,000-per-cycle expensive. And that's if it works the first time around, which it often, unfortunately, does not. But women who work at Starbucks seeking to get IVF have lucked out, as it was just announced that the coffee company covers the procedure - even for its part-time employees. This is a giant relief to women who are struggling to get pregnant, and the amount of applications to work at Starbucks has skyrocketed since the news broke.
Shannon Iagulli, a former barista, spoke to CBS News about what that meant for her family. "You go through your life hearing you grow up, you fall in love, you get married, you have kids, so if it doesn't happen, you don't understand. Why is my body not doing it," Iagulli said. "And that's where Starbucks came in."
So what can employees expect? The company will cover up to $20,000 for IVF and related medication for all eligible personnel - and that benefit even extends to part-time baristas who make $10,000 on average each year. This key perk has been offered by Starbucks for at least a year, and it's helped so many women that there's even a Starbucks IVF Mommas page on Facebook. After all was said and done, Iagulli - who got pregnant with twins last year - only ended up paying about $2,300 out of pocket between her insurance and Starbucks's benefit.
So if you're looking to get pregnant, maybe a new gig brewing coffee might just be what the doctor ordered.

The 6 Most Important Issues in the World, According to Millennials
We all know that millennials have a lot of feelings. It's that abundance of feelings that countless brands, marketers, and entrepreneurs have seized upon, crafting their products to the needs of the 20-something, shifting their messaging to be more in line with the ideals that millennials embrace. But while it's easy to identify and target a specific demographic, success among a particular generation is far less frequent. It can be incredibly difficult to separate what a group cares most about from what it is they want others to believe is their raison d'être - and those two sentiments are not always in line with one another.
As the first age group to enter maturity with access to the internet and social media, millennials have a unique brand of public persona that can sometimes be completely independent from an individual's true feelings. As a result, it's hard to predict what apps will be popular with millennials a week from now - let alone what global issues they find to be of most concern. That is, until the Global Shapers Survey came along.
Now in its third year, the World Economic Fund's annual poll measures the pulse of millennials on issues ranging from economic inequality to climate change and everything in between. The nearly 25,000 participants in the 2017 survey came from 186 different countries, and those involved were asked questions pertaining not only their city or town, but also about the world they live in.
Ahead, we've highlighted the top six issues that matter the most to millennials, according to this year's study. For a more in-depth look at what these findings mean, check out the full report or head over to the Global Shapers site for more information.
McDonald's Brows Are a Thing, and Ba Da Ba Da Da, We're Loving It
A new trend, kicked off by none other than Huda Kattan, the Queen of Beauty Influencers herself, is bringing new meaning to the term "Golden Arches." Yup, the world will not stop at squiggle or braided brows, because 2017 is shaping up to be the most extra year in arch history. And you know what? It's silly, but, as the old jingle went, we're "Lovin' It!"
Huda shared a tutorial of how you, too, can get in on this golden-fried trend. (Don't lie, we know you want to try it - anything for Huda). She began by concealing her real brows with a glue stick, powder, and foundation. Then, Huda marked the outline of her brows before filling it in with a big, thick line that exactly matches the Golden Arches.
If McDonald's isn't your jam, don't worry! Huda also mentioned how the look can also represent rabbit or fox ears. So even vegans can adopt the trend and make it "Critter Brows." Although she jumped on the brow bandwagon, Huda admitted in the video that she shares your fatigue of this ever-evolving medium. "I hope this is the last one that takes shape," she said of Golden Arches. While we at POPSUGAR live for these insane looks, we agree that waking up to a new brow look every morning is a little daunting. Guess it's just the world we live in these days!
Of course, bloggers are trying McDonald's Brows out themselves, and we've found some pretty insane reiterations of the trend, all of which we're bookmarking for last-minute Halloween inspiration.

9 Things to Cut Out of Your Life to Be Healthy
Many of you are here to improve your diet and overall well-being and to start cutting certain things out of your life. But that doesn't always mean junk food or sweets - we've got some habits that might be holding you back from your healthy goals that you should definitely consider eliminating for good.
Here's what we're cutting out of our lives to have our healthiest year yet.
- Negative self-talk: Stop being mean to yourself. Just stop. You are enough! You are strong! You're capable. Start giving yourself more compliments, and make this year about no negative self-talk - ever. The more you berate and degrade yourself, the harder your year will be; you'll also have a much harder time reaching your healthy goals.
- Your scale: Look, quantifiable goals are great, but the scale can be an evil enemy, and doctors agree! If you've been obsessed with the scale and every decimal point on your weight, it's time for that thing to go. In the trash. Forever. Remember that a number on a scale doesn't reflect the hard work you're putting in, and the numbers absolutely do not define you.
- Workouts you hate: Not everyone likes running, and that's OK. Forcing yourself into a workout that you hate definitely won't encourage you to keep working out. There are alternatives to running and so many other kinds of cardio exercises. If you hate bootcamp classes, try barre. Hate barre? Stop doing it! Try yoga. If something's not working, try a new studio or new instructor. Keep going until you find something that clicks, but absolutely do not keep going to a class or attempting a workout you don't like.
- Exercising to "fix" or change a part of your body: Working out because you "hate" your body is the worst thing you can do. Exercise makes you feel good - it celebrates your body, makes you feel empowered, and sends a rush of feel-good endorphins through your body. Working out will boost your energy, will improve your health, and can change your mood for the better, alongside so many other benefits. Celebrate your body; don't try to "fix" it.
- Kale (or that one food you just can't stand): A lot of you hate kale. So stop forcing it! You don't need kale to be healthy! Maybe it's not kale, but it's another healthy food you've been forcing yourself to eat under the pretense that it's healthy and you "need it" to be healthy yourself. This just isn't true, and if your diet consists of things you don't love, you're not going to stay on that diet for very long. For a more sustainable diet, experiment more with other healthy foods to find out what you do love. You'll be eating healthier all the time!
- Perfectionism: Striving for a goal is great; striving for perfection is unhealthy. Giving yourself unrealistic or unattainable goals is detrimental to your mental and your physical health. That desire for perfectionism can often be a defense mechanism, when you're either consciously or subconsciously protecting yourself from the judgment of others. Focus that energy on progress, not perfection, and you'll have a much better year.
- Calorie counting: This year, stop obsessing over calories, especially if it has created a negative relationship with food. Food is fuel, and we need calories to have strong muscles, strong bones, and a functioning body! There are so many ways to track your food and eat healthy without calorie counting. If you need the data and numbers to stay in control of your healthy eating, try looking into counting macros - you'll have a healthy balance of protein, fats, and carbohydrates each day.
- Stress: Whether you have clinical anxiety or you've been stressing way too much, your compromised mental health can have a seriously negative impact on your health. Stress can cause weight gain, bloating, physical pain, skin problems, and more. Quite a setback for your healthiest year yet, right? To relax and cut out stress, get yourself a great therapist, or try a self-care practice like diffusing essential oils.
- Everything that is holding you back: What is keeping you from being your best self and living your best life? Is it an unhealthy relationship, a terrible job that drains you of your energy, or a deep-seated fear? Let. It. Go. Cut the people out who don't support you. Say goodbye to work that doesn't make you feel good, or worse, makes you feel bad. Remove unnecessary obligations that keep you from reaching your physical, mental, and personal goals. This is your time! Replace these things with activities that help you reach your goals, a job that fosters your creativity and empowers you, and relationships with people who build you up.

Kate Middleton's Pregnancy Hair Trick Is Actually Genius - and Very Sneaky!
An eagle-eyed political reporter for the U.K.'s Evening Standard, Kate Proctor, has tweeted a "conspiracy" about Kate Middleton's hair that actually sounds plausible. According to the writer, the Duchess has a habit of switching up her strands right before she announces a pregnancy - possibly to avoid the media from scooping the news before she officially announces. She's sneakily done this for every single one of her three children. Well played, Duchess Kate.
Pattern is Duchess of Cambridge changes her hairstyle, people concentrate on her head, then announces pregnancy. My gfs called this wks ago!
- Kate Proctor (@KateProctorES) September 4, 2017
Perhaps this is an effort to distract the press from her prenatal silhouette, as Kate Proctor puts it, or maybe it's just because she likes to experiment. Either way, this is one conspiracy we can actually believe. If you're still skeptical, don't worry, we come armed with facts - and photos. Join us on this very important piece of investigative journalism, will you?

This Cover of "Despacito" Uses 2 Calculators to Put You in a Hypnotic Trance
Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's megahit "Despacito" was at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 16 weeks, making it the official song of the Summer this year. That means you weren't the only one who couldn't get the tune out of your head for months. The team behind the Japanese YouTube channel It's a Small World couldn't let go either, so they got beyond creative re-creating the entire song by using only the noises made by the keys on two calculators. Yes, that's a sentence we never thought we would type.
We were in awe and wondering how much time it must have taken to prep this video, but then we realized whoever is responsible for these videos is a calculator pro. They've also covered other songs, like Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" and Camilla Cabello ft. Quavo's "OMG," to equally mesmerizing results.
