The Wisteria Flower Tunnels of Japan Look Like a Fairy Tale Come to Life
The wisteria tunnels at the Kawachi Fuji Gardens in Kitakyushu, Japan, are almost otherworldly in their beauty. While thousands of tourists flock to Japan to see the country's fabulous displays of cherry blossoms every year, the lesser-known wisteria tunnels remain a little off the beaten path, despite an increase in popularity over the past few years.
Wisteria is a climbing flower that blooms in the Spring with a variety of colors that make up a stunning Spring palette, including violet, light pink, and white. Every year at the end of April, the long-established wisteria at the gardens bloom and transform the man-made trellises into spectacular works of art. The combination of the aroma and stunning visual display make it a true sensory experience.
There are two tunnels to enjoy, each measuring about 100 meters long and consisting of up to 20 different varieties of wisteria, known locally as fuji flowers. If you want to visit, make sure to plan ahead - the display usually only lasts a few weeks. While the gardens are notoriously difficult to get to, the payoff is totally worth it. Look through to see stunning photos of this fairy-tale destination!

Let's Talk About Anti-Semitism and White Supremacy
Hatred is baffling to me. But the more I seek to understand, the more I believe that hatred is ultimately grounded in fear.
In the case of the 19-year-old who opened fire on a San Diego synagogue on Saturday, April 27 - a man currently under investigation for the arson of a nearby mosque and whom I will not name because he doesn't deserve it - the fear was explicit: he is afraid of losing his power and being replaced. His hate-filled, historically anachronistic manifesto (I read it so you don't have to) documents his belief that, with the aid of various communities of color, Jews are systematically seeking to eradicate and replace white Christians in America.
If we can put aside the nonsense of this claim for a moment - Jewish people make up two percent of the American population and are institutionally averse to evangelism, and there is literally nothing to back up this idea - let's dig into it. Part of this fear is tied to the contradictory concept of accelerationism, which, "fueled by the perception that the future of the white race is bleak" due to outsiders like Jews and immigrants, animates the white supremacist belief that "they must employ any means necessary to expedite the collapse of the current system." Essentially, they must destroy the system before the system is destroyed.
This is also contradictory, of course, because we know that what white supremacists actually want is to uphold the current system - a system that keeps white men in power, black men in jail, Asian men emasculated, Jews afraid, Muslims marginalized, and women silent and underpaid.

Instagram Is Testing Out an Update That Will Hide How Many Likes Your Posts Get
Instagram has undergone many changes in its day, but the photo-sharing app's latest rumored update might be its most drastic one yet. The app is reportedly testing out an update that will hide the total number of likes a photo or video receives.
The news was announced at Facebook's annual F8 conference on April 30, and it's currently being tested by users in Canada. With the update, users would be able to share posts with their followers as normal, but said followers would no longer be able to see the exact number of people who double-tapped the photo. The user, on the other hand, would be able to see which of their followers like their posts, though they also wouldn't be given the exact number of likes - presumably, the only way to figure that out would presumably be to count the users one by one. Whether or not the change becomes permanent and ends up being rolled out in more countries is dependent on how well it's received during the test.

To be honest, given the reputation social media has earned in the last few years for being toxic and detrimental to some people's mental health, this doesn't seem like a terrible idea. If this does end up becoming a permanent change, I, for one, would totally be on board.

A Relationship Therapist Says This Is the Biggest Act of "Real Love and Romance"
If you look back on the fights you and your partner have had, many of them were probably easily preventable. Regardless of whose fault it is, both sides have control of the situation. It's up to you to decide how you want to handle it, whether it's feeding the flame or being the bigger person. How many of your arguments have been over something ridiculously trivial? And how many weren't worth the stress? Chances are that it was a majority. Constant bickering can damage your relationship in the long run, and if you don't make it a habit to catch yourself in the heat of the moment, you'll only continue to cause strain.
We spoke with K-Y's resident sex expert and relationship therapist, Dr. Laura Berman, to find out how couples can relieve the tension in a situation, and turns out it's a lot easier than you'd expect. If you've ever gotten mad at your SO because it seems like they just "don't get it," it's probably because they don't. But that also doesn't mean they shouldn't attempt to better understand you on their end.
"Often the partner is like, 'What's the big deal?', and that feels like a slap in the face," Dr. Berman told POPSUGAR. "So, even if they don't know why every candle in the house has to match, if they facilitate and assist, that is an act of real love and romance because it shows that even if they don't understand it or think it's important, it's important to you, so they're engaging and investing in it."
Dr. Berman continued to say how your initial reaction may be to try to talk your partner out of it - like stressing over matching candles, in this instance - or to respond to their irritation with anger. But as you probably already know, reacting in those ways rarely ends well. Real love, as she mentioned, is demonstrated by small acts of appreciation. The fact that you have zero interest in candles is not the point here. By putting aside your own opinions (or lack thereof) on something your partner clearly does care about, you're showing how much you value them and your relationship.
"It's really important that each of you take responsibility for the bar that you're setting and the unnecessary stress that you're creating," Dr. Berman said.
So the next time you catch yourself rolling your eyes or questioning your SO, pitch in instead. Don't get annoyed that they want to watch sports or bad reality TV - take it as an opportunity to spend time together. Seeing things from a different perspective will greatly benefit your relationship!

This New App Is Going to Make Meeting Up With Friends For Happy Hour SO Much Easier
Picture this: it's a Summer afternoon and your phone is blowing up. You're at work and trying to be productive, so you turn the group chat on Do Not Disturb mode (don't lie, we've all done it). The issue is, your friends can't decide where to meet for happy hour or what time it's acceptable to leave work, and the messages are pouring in with Yelp reviews, Open Table reservations, and even screenshots of what time sunset is - gotta get that 'gram! As much as we love our friends, the group chat and lack of concrete plans after 200 messages is . . . a lot. That's where the Twenty app comes in.
Twenty is a new map-based app for friends to easily make plans and actually stick to them. You can see which of your friends are around, create a plan for the crew, send out invites, and plan for future events all within the app. With people like Arianna Huffington and Rande Gerber on the board, Twenty's mission is to focus on the future instead of the past and present like some social media apps. But it isn't just another social media platform, it's a way for you and your friends to get together and be more social.
According to the press release, it "was created as a result of the current digital culture and the modern-day epidemic of loneliness and fear of missing out." DJ Khaled and Kaia Gerber have even been using the app to meet up with friends. "Tech that helps people spend time together in real life is going to be the next big thing," Khaled said. "[Twenty] is going to really help get people together in real life. We are about to change the game with Twenty."
The app even lets you and your friends find out about cool things going on in your city, but it's the Hangouts feature that's really making our lives easier. Hangouts can be specific to a location or just for an overall happy hour plan. You can invite friends, let your friends invite friends, and even chat within the app about said plans. What's great is you can edit destinations in real time, because none of us are in the mood to wait in line. See how the app works ahead, and get ready for the group chat to be a lot less poppin'.
Just Got AirPods? Here's How to Connect Them to Your Phone
With each new Apple release, the company's products seem to get more and more advanced. Whether it's smartphones with zero buttons, devices that double as a scanner, or offering full magazines at the touch of a button, Apple is truly modernizing the way we stay connected. And one of their more recent (and massively popular) releases are AirPods, or wireless pods that act as headphones. And good news: despite being so high tech, connecting AirPods to your phone is actually incredibly easy.
If you're connecting your AirPods to your phone for the first time, you'll need to make sure that your smartphone is operating at iOS 10 or later. After you have this confirmed, open the pods' case (keep the headphones inside, they don't need to come out yet!) and hold the case directly next to your phone. An image of your pods and its case should pop up on the screen. Tap "Connect," "Done," and that's it! If you're already logged into iCloud, your pods become instantly linked with whatever device is associated with that Apple ID.
From here, all you have to do is throw in your AirPods and select what music you would like to listen to. But want to know what's even cooler? When you remove them from your ears they automatically stop playing. That means no more fiddling to hit the pause button!
You Can Now Get Anti-Anxiety "Beta-Blockers" Online - Are They Safe?
Enter: my curiosity in health-and-wellness-focused telemedicine brand hers. This digital start-up offers everything from birth control to prescription skin care in sleek, pastel packaging (my personal kryptonite) and recently added a prescription-only beta-blocker drug called propranolol ($25) to its retail lineup. Once users sign up for a monthly subscription of the drug, hers ships a package of five 20 mg propranolol pills to be delivered at home.
But before you can get your hands on these beta-blockers, you'll first need to get a prescription through hers' online system. Vice President of Medical Services at hers Adrian Rawlinson, MD, tells POPSUGAR that a propranolol prescription is not intended to be a solution for general anxiety disorder, a form of anxiety that the Mayo Clinic describes as "excessive, ongoing anxiety and worry that [is] difficult to control and interferes with day-to-day activities." Instead, hers has marketed its propranolol product as an option for treating performance anxiety, or anxiousness that makes it difficult to function in specific, high-pressure situations, like job interviews or auditions. Dr. Rawlinson adds that the "physician consultation process" customers use to check out through the hers platform is "designed to mirror what happens when you visit a doctor in person."
The process Dr. Rawlinson describes is a seven-step system that starts at checkout. When you finalize your propranolol order, a new $5 "medical fee" appears. Once your $30 total is paid via credit card, hers routes you to its pre-consultation phase, where you're asked to provide identification information (have your government-issued ID ready) and prompted to acknowledge that propranolol isn't suitable treatment for general or social anxiety disorders.
Next up, you receive an extensive consent document laying out benefits and potential risks of using telemedicine services. Once you check the requisite "I Agree" buttons, you're forwarded to the health evaluation. Hers' standard health evaluation questionnaire for propranolol includes around 12 multiple-choice questions, with the option to choose as many relevant answers per query as necessary. (A question about your symptoms, for example, lists several anxiety indicators – tight throat, pounding heart, shaking hands, and more – and you're encouraged to mark however many you experience.) If you respond to a question with "other" at any point, you're prompted to write out further details for the doctor's review. You're also asked to disclose your current roster of prescription medications in full, with special emphasis placed on 18 prescriptions, all listed by name. Through a partnership with Bailey Health, you're then matched with a physician licensed in your home state to review your feedback. As for the actual consultation, don't expect to hop on a video chat – physicians reach out through the hers platform's instant messaging system, or sometimes via phone call. From there, the doctor determines whether they're comfortable signing off on a propranolol prescription.
While I'm all for making birth control more accessible, and my interest was certainly piqued at the thought of avoiding unnecessary trips to the doctor's office, ordering anxiety medication from my couch still gave me pause. Is it safe? Does this drug even work? To find out, I tapped a few outside experts in the mental health field for their insights on what propranolol is, who should (and shouldn't) take it, whether it's safe to order without seeing a doctor in-person first, and what results to expect before giving it a try.
What the Heck Is Propranolol?
Franklin Schneier, MD, codirector of New York State Psychiatric Institute's Anxiety Disorders Clinic, tells POPSUGAR that propranolol is one of the original beta-blocker drugs and has been around for "at least 50 years." What's a beta-blocker, you ask? Dr. Schneier explains that beta-blockers "act as beta receptors to block the effects of adrenaline" in the body. "Beta receptors are located in many organs including the brain," he says, and "when [propranolol] blocks the beta receptors in the heart, for example, it prevents the heart rate from speeding up." This can potentially reduce physical symptoms of performance anxiety, like shaking hands or a pounding heart, that make it hard to perform in high-pressure situations.
Though Dr. Schneier pointed to the existence of what he considers "a few small studies" with findings that suggest beta-blockers help anxious performers, propranolol is not FDA-approved for anxiety treatment. It is, however, approved by the FDA to treat several heart conditions, high blood pressure, and the prevention of migraine headaches.
Does It Actually Work For Anxiety Treatment?
Tiffany Lago, MD, of the National Institute of Mental Health has studied beta-blockers like propranolol and says research suggests they can be useful for people with "predictable anxiety triggers" in specific situations. If you struggle with a particular social anxiety (like public speaking) or phobia (like a fear of heights), for example, she said propranolol could be a reasonable option for you. One benefit of propranolol, Dr. Lago notes, is that it can be taken "without affecting cognition," unlike some alternative medications. She also tells POPSUGAR that beta-blockers can be useful in quelling symptoms before they spin out of control. "For some people, these physical symptoms of anxiety lead to even more anxiety," she says, and beta-blockers can help prevent that dreaded full-on spiral.
When it comes to managing anxiety symptoms on a day-to-day basis, though, Dr. Schneier says propranolol is "usually" not helpful – and he said it can potentially make depression worse. "This is important, because performance anxiety often occurs in combination with other psychiatric conditions," Dr. Schenier says. He recommends that people try other, longer-lasting methods of addressing anxiety head-on (like therapy) instead of relying on a beta-blocker as a "one size fits all" solution. "Cognitive behavioral therapy is preferable [to beta-blockers], because patients learn coping techniques that they can use the rest of their lives, whereas beta-blockers work only while they are in one's system." He also adds that propranolol can become a crutch: "If propranolol is effective, it often leads to a psychological dependence, and might, therefore, worsen anxiety in unexpected situations where there is not enough warning to take propranolol beforehand." If your situational anxiety manifests in struggling with public speaking, for example, he suggests giving a self-help group like Toastmasters a try.
Should Anyone Avoid Taking Propranolol?
Experts (including hers' Dr. Rawlinson) agree that no one should use propranolol without being completely forthright and honest during their physician consultation about their medical history and current roster of medications. Both Dr. Lago and Dr. Schneier point to a number of specific conditions that would likely rule it out as an option for patients, including asthma, heart disease, diabetes, and low blood pressure. (The hers site's "safety information" tab also says people with these conditions are not suited for propranolol, and lists a whole host of medications to avoid using in combination with it, including blood thinners, steroids, and some antidepressants.) Should it concern potential users that it's not technically approved for anxiety? Dr. Schneier says that it means "there is less evidence of its usefulness for anxiety, so that should be taken into account."
Is It Safe to Be Prescribed a Beta-Blocker Via Telemedicine Consultation?
Because of what she described as its "low risk of abuse and dependency," Dr. Lago says telemedicine prescriptions of propranolol are acceptable. "I think it's safe for a psychiatrist to prescribe propranolol via telemedicine if vital signs such as heart rate and blood pressure can be monitored routinely," she tells POPSUGAR.
During the consultation, Dr. Schneier says patients should look for a "thorough evaluation" that lasts around 30 minutes, and preferably one that includes discussion of "medical history and a psychiatric assessment, including details of the nature of the anxiety and its triggers, as well as any co-occurring conditions." But Dr. Schneier tells POPSUGAR that he's skeptical of medical evaluations offered online for a low cost: "It seems very unlikely that the $5 medical evaluation offered by some websites is adequate for safe prescribing."
After hearing what the experts have to say about propranolol potentially increasing my in-flight anxiety, I'm inclined to find a more permanent solution for my travel woes than beta-blockers. (We meet again, cognitive behavioral therapy.) But if you are going to give hers' propranolol product a go, remember to be brutally honest about your symptoms, medical history, and current prescriptions with your consulting doctor.

Here's What It's Like to Date When You Have Anxiety (Negative Thoughts Included)
I'll never forget this moment: I was on a second date with a guy, patiently awaiting the large portion of cacio e pepe I eyed on Yelp six hours prior, when he brought up the concept of anxiety. At this point, I was more into the pasta than I was into the guy, but I had to take my eyes off the restaurant's kitchen door and focus on the conversation that was about to ensue for a few minutes. "I've never had anxiety before. What's it like?" he asked, genuinely curious. Well, honey, I'm going to assume they skipped this lesson during Dating 101, but this is not the time, nor the place. I stared blankly, proceeded to giggle adorably, and thanked the heavens above to see the waiter holding my savior dinner right in front of me at that moment.
Anxiety is something I've dealt with since I was 15 years old, and I'm well aware of the stigma associated with Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), so as ingenuous as this guy's question was, I wasn't prepared to answer it. It's hard to explain what "anxiety" is because it affects everyone differently, and I definitely wasn't going to attempt to describe the debilitating feeling I've had for a large portion of my life to a stranger. Thanks, but no thanks.
I'd be lying if I said anxiety didn't impact my dating life.
Dating when you have anxiety is, uh, interesting. But before I get into it, I want to again clarify that everyone has a different experience, and I can only speak to my own. My experience is not social anxiety or anxiety about dating (usually), it's about how my general anxiety impacts my life as a 27-year-old single woman in Manhattan who's just trying to get her date on. While I definitely think I'm a great dater - I'm on the apps, I like going out (sometimes), I'm an outgoing and positive person - I'd be lying if I said anxiety didn't impact my dating life.
A viral tweet from Gage DeAngelis perfectly encapsulates this: "My girlfriend has major anxiety issues and it really affects her and I see that, daily. So I asked her if there's anything I can to do help. Her response? 'Just let me be crazy and I'll be fine.' Yes ma'am," he wrote. I don't know him or his relationship, but his girlfriend's reaction to "let her be" is important. In the modern dating era, I believe that you really have to put yourself out there if you want to meet someone. Whether that's on a dating app or out in real life, you just have to. For me, someone with anxiety, that comes with listening to my body and my mind, and of course, "letting me be."
There are weeks when I'm feeling hopeful, and the thought of going out with someone I potentially have a great connection with sparks joy, so I'll make a few dates and dinner plans with friends. There are also weeks when I need my alone time, so I'll line up workouts after work to clear my head. There are even weeks when I can't bring myself to work out because I need to de-stress in the comfort of my own home, so I won't make any plans that could add to my anxiousness. But the most important thing for me is to listen to my body and figure out what kind of week it is to plan accordingly.
There's no shame in rescheduling a date if you're going to be mentally elsewhere during the prime hours of getting to know someone.
Listening to your body and your mind is one thing, but acting on it is another. My anxiety, like many people's, can be unpredictable - a lovely morning can turn into a panicked racing heart if something triggers me - so, cancel plans if that's the case. There's no shame in rescheduling a date if you're going to be mentally elsewhere during the prime hours of getting to know someone. Anxiety and the negative, racing thoughts that come with it are out of your control, but canceling plans and taking the night to cuddle with a weighted blanket and some CBD to get back to feeling like yourself is in your control.
I'm not a mental health professional, and I'm definitely not an expert on dating (hello, single!), but I've juggled anxiety and societal pressures to "put yourself out there" long enough to know this: sitting at a table nodding to a forced conversation when negative thoughts are running rampant through your mind is not going to lead you to your soulmate, or even lead you to an enjoyable evening. Listen to your body, your mind, and "put yourself out there" only when you're able to be present and able to be the best version of yourself. As for me, I just need to remember that Carrie Bradshaw was a fictional character, and in real life, someone with a fabulous shoe collection, a very active social life, and never-ending editorial deadlines would *probably* have anxiety, too.

"Recovery Is Massively Important": Olympian Megan Rapinoe on How Rest Days Help Her Dominate
You don't get to be a star on the US national soccer team - and veteran of nearly 13 years - without learning to take care of your body like it's your job (because, well, it is). Just ask Megan Rapinoe, the USWNT midfielder/forward who, despite injuries, has been a powerful presence on the international pitch since her debut in 2006. Staying healthy is the highest priority for the 33-year-old Rapinoe and as important as workouts and diet are (just check out her simple, whole-foods-based daily diet) - it's what she does off the field, beyond the gym, and out of the kitchen that keeps her body at its best.
"Recovery is massively important," Megan told POPSUGAR. In terms of staying healthy and ensuring her best performance, Megan said, "I think recovery's actually as important or more important than what you're doing on the field."
That goes for those of us who aren't professional athletes, too. If you're trying to build muscle, rest days are critical recovery periods for your muscles to rebuild and grow; if you're looking to lose weight, taking a day off gives you the energy to push even harder in your next workout.
The most effective rest days incorporate easy movement that keeps you loose and limber without putting too much strain on your body. It's not something you should overthink, though; taking it easy on your body means doing the same for your mind. Megan's rest days are spent relaxing, recovering, and keeping things low-key. Number one on recovery to-do list: sleep.
"Preferably, I'm in bed by 9:30, then trying to get to sleep by 10:30 or 11 p.m," she said. In fact, that goes for every day, not just her days off. "I'm very precious about my sleep. I like to get a full night out of it." Once she's up and moving in the morning, Megan said that an ideal recovery day would include a massage or some water therapy, like an Epsom salt bath, which is believed to soothe sore muscles, or some swimming to loosen up her body.
"I don't like to be too stagnant. I like to kind of walk around a little bit, or go shopping or run a few errands," Megan added. A nap in the afternoon, followed by a healthy dinner out or at home, is her low-key end to the day. The focus is not to get stressed or overwork anything. "I like to be very calm and relaxed on my days off and hopefully get a lot of rest."
The takeaway: rest days are important, but don't put too much pressure on yourself to make them perfect. Walk, stretch, eat some good food, and sleep. A relaxed, low-stress day will help you recover and prepare, mind and body, for your next challenge, whether that's a tough workout or a World Cup final.

Summer Is Coming, Which Means It's Time For Cropped Leggings

Cropped leggings are the best option in the summertime because they give you enough breathing room, but they're not as exposed as shorts. Let's face it, you don't want to worry about accidentally showing too much in bootcamp or yoga, which is why a cropped legging is the perfect pick. Plus, there are now so many different silhouettes, and they're all so flattering. So whether you want to show just a hint of ankle or are more into a crop that comes just below the knee, we've got you covered.

Like most people with access to Netflix and a WiFi connection, I too have become enchanted by the tiny organizational wizard known as Marie Kondo and her uncanny ability to spark joy through artfully arranging clothes and adding small boxes to drawers and closets.
With the help of my organizer Holly - I needed some emotional assistance to get started with this mess - I tackled the biggest part of my closet: my workout clothes. (Being a fitness editor has its perks.)
Of course, as any organizer would tell you, the first step is the purge. Eliminate any piece that no longer serves you, or no longer "sparks joy," as Marie would say. I followed suit, and had heaps and heaps of clothes to give to (very stoked) friends and donate to charity.
Lesson: the limit does exist, contrary to what Mean Girls would have you believe. Second lesson: Marie makes everything look so easy, and I honestly wish I had that graceful air about me, but alas, it takes work to get on this joy-sparking level.
Ahead are the different sections of my room and workout wardrobe, and how I got them organized using my best attempt at the KonMari method. If you're a novice like me, I hope this proves to be equal parts helpful and validating.
Get Ready to Smell Fresh Air Again With These Cold and Allergy Shower Bombs at Target
Spring is synonymous with warmer weather, trees and flowers blooming, baseball, and allergies. If you suffer from allergies, you already know how annoying they can be. You're always sneezing, literally blowing through boxes of tissues, having itchy and watery eyes . . . the list goes on and on.
To help you enjoy the warmer and longer days, minus all those allergy symptoms, Target has got you covered. It's selling Village Naturals Therapy Cold & Allergy Shower Bombs ($3), made with eucalyptus, lemon, and menthol.
Ingredients like eucalyptus can help with coughing and mucus buildup, so we definitely think these shower bombs are worth a shot. If you are feeling a little under the weather, can't breathe out of your right nostril, or just need to relax, run to Target (try not to buy anything else), and get a shower bomb!

We Asked an Expert If You Can Lose Fat Just by Lifting Weights - Here's What She Said
There's no one perfect way to transform your body composition, and most experts would agree that it's all about finding what works best for you. Because the fitness and health industries, in general, have become saturated with workouts, diets, and everything else, it can be hard to figure out what's best for you and your goals, especially if you're trying to burn fat and build muscle.
To find out if you can lose fat with weightlifting alone, POPSUGAR spoke to Tiffany Chag, MS, RD, CSCS, a sports performance specialist and sports dietitian at the Hospital For Special Surgery's Tish Sports Performance Center.

Khloé Kardashian's Swimsuit Defines Her Curves Like They've Never Been Defined Before
Khloé Kardashian wore this Louis Vuitton x Supreme swimsuit in Bali back in October, so if you do the math, that's just four months after she gave birth to baby True. Wait, what!? How is that possible? The stunning TV star looked downright incredible posing on the beach in the high-leg maillot, which hugged and flattered her famous curves. Khloé shared the beach shot to psych up her followers for a Keeping Up With the Kardashians episode that documented the family's trip.
We know what you're thinking, and we checked, but Khloé's exact design is no longer available. It's more like memorabilia from an iconic collaboration, though you can find inspired remakes if you're really committed to replicating the look. For us though, it's the confidence Khloé's showing off that sticks with us.
Plus, while logo swimsuits are popular right now, silhouettes that have a modest cut, but structured, tight-fitting fabric are forever classic and sexy. In fact, we found plenty of sophisticated one-pieces like Khloés that may not say "Louis Vuitton" but definitely say "look my way," while also acknowledging one of your favorite brands. Go on, pick out the one you can imagine posted up on your Instagram feed.
This Hello Kitty Handbag Collection Is Out of This World (Hint: Because She's in Space)
Hello Kitty isn't just for kids - and anyone who says otherwise is a dream-crusher. The iconic cartoon character served as inspiration for a playful yet elevated collection of handbags and accessories by Furla. The designer brand actually released a similar Hello Kitty collection last year, but this second one features a whimsical outer space theme.
Ranging from $88 to $398 - so, yes, definitely on the pricier side - the lineup consists of crossbody bags, wristlet clutches, cosmetic cases, coin purses, and even silk neck scarves. While Hello Kitty is certainly the star of the show, many items are instead inspired by her fellow Sanrio character My Melody. Check out the sweet collection ahead.
I Resisted Dad Sneakers For 1 Year, but This $100 Pair Changed My Mind
Even though I'm always in tune with the latest trends, I'm the kind of girl who tends to admire them from afar. I almost always stick to my uniform of jeans, sweater, and white sneakers. For a trend to really jump out and grab my attention (or credit card), I need to be totally sold. When the whole dad sneaker wave came a little over a year ago, I got it, I respected it, but I wasn't into it for myself. Every time I saw my favorite blogger or Scandinavian street style star wearing them, I thought, "You're so cool, you can pull it off," but imagined myself looking like a clown in the clunky shoes. As time went on, more and more brands and retailers released their own versions of the shoe. Every time I saw one, it slowly started to make me think maybe I should try it.
Eventually, the pair that convinced me finally arrived: the Nike M2K Tekno Sneakers ($100). To be fair, these are a little more "dad" than other choices on the market, but I was officially committed. Maybe it's because subconsciously they remind me the ones my dad wore when I was young - and, come to think of it, still wears to this day. I could finally match with him and I was ready to buy some.
I get so many compliments from my friends, and people constantly ask me where I bought them.
As I started hunting for the ones I wanted, I was shocked at how many color choices they came in. From silver to neon and plain white it was hard to choose. I eventually settled on this all-white pair with a touch of yellow, because I never wear colors, and why not completely go for it, right?!
I wear them with jeans, dresses, and just leggings on the weekends. The price is just right, and they're beyond comfortable. I get so many compliments from my friends, and people constantly ask me where I bought them. If you're ready to commit or already need more pairs, keep reading to shop this shoe's best colorways. Don't drag your feet - sizes sell fast in special color combos. Take a look.

I Dressed Like '90s and '00s Movie Characters Just to Prove Old Trends Are Back
My boyfriend and I love watching comedies from the '90s and early 2000s before bed at night. We've both seen these flicks hundreds of times for the most part, but if he's trying to introduce me to a classic I haven't watched, I always ask the same absurdly childish question about the film before we start: "What actresses are in it?" Why? It's about outfit inspiration, people! Especially now, when trends like low-slung jeans and going-out tops from the early aughts are resurfacing, I can't get enough of that "grown-up Limited Too look," or so I call it.
"Do I look like Britney Spears at 17?" I've generally started to ask my family and friends (who are not in the fashion industry) before we go out to the movies or a low-key diner for dinner. "Um, yes actually, exactly like that," they say, raising their eyebrows at me like I am a crazy person. "Good, that's what I'm going for!" I assure them.
But as I've run out of Britney, Christina Aguilera, Avril Lavigne, and Gwen Stefani outfits to re-create, I've turned my attention to the screen. After I watched Pulp Fiction for the first time, I dressed in Mia Wallace's sexy, simple black-and-white color palette for a solid week. Why not bring that back when the iconic flares and button-down she dances in would make for a fabulous combination today?
So that's my new method for getting dressed. I've been reminiscing and rewatching old movie scenes with incredible style moments, then making them feel brand-new with fresh little twists from my closet. Enter Jennifer Garner as Jenna Rink, Rachel McAdams as Regina George, and even Kate Hudson as Penny Lane for a little boho influence (a double throwback to the '70s and '90s!).
Scroll to see how I've reinterpreted these signature looks, then leave a note in the comments to let me know which fictional character you want to see me dress like next! What, you thought there'd be a limit to my dedication? As if!

6 Iconic Carrie Bradshaw Looks We Found at Zara
Carrie Bradshaw asked a lot of questions, usually beginning with the phrase, "I couldn't help but wonder . . ." Well, there were so many things I couldn't help but wonder about Carrie as I watched the iconic Sex and the City series over and over again through the years. Like, how did she manage to make the stuff of ballet and biker chick costumes look so damn cool with staples from the early 2000s? I mean, the woman pulled off a pink tutu (and then a purple one in the second film) better than I can your average maxi skirt.
No matter where the trend cycle takes us, it seems like Carrie Bradshaw is always an appropriate style icon. She infused her outfits with flavor and sophistication all at once, and that's the real kicker. Also, Carrie was well-versed on designer collections, so she knew how to work an entire ensemble around a novelty piece, like the Dior newspaper dress for example, or a pair of Manolo Blahniks.
Everyone has favorite Carrie outfits, but I see the beauty in every single one of her looks. No one can actually be Carrie - we all know how impossible it is to afford shopping in between breakfast, lunch, and dinner every single day, while also managing a column and finding time to keep up with a guy like Big - but we can certainly take inspiration. Believe it or not, I took the time to sift through Zara's site, and re-created six of Carrie's fashion moments that'd easily on trend today. Now I just can't help but wonder, will my bank account be mad if I re-create some more?

Nope, That's Not a Stack of $100s - It's Jennifer Lopez's New Clutch
Nope, that's not a stack of money; it's Jennifer Lopez's new clutch. The actress and singer has been showing off her flashy side while filming her new movie, Hustlers. The movie comes with a major nostalgic wardrobe including low-slung jeans à la Britney Spears circa 2001, a Juicy t-shirt that took us straight back to middle school, and a neon pink bikini that showed off her amazing abs.
J Lo, who plays Ramona in the movie, was seen in New York on set wearing a skintight gray dress with a plunging neckline that was fastened in the front by two safety pins. It had a daring side slit that was also held together by safety pins. She also rocked a pair of gold hoops and carried a clutch that will make you look twice.
Jennifer held a crystal-encrusted clutch that resembled a large stack of $100 bills. Yep, that's right - a clutch shaped like a wad of cash. She posted a close-up pic of her money clutch with the caption, "Ramona taking off for the weekend... 💵💋 #hustlers." Keep reading to see a full shot of J Lo's look and shop similar statement clutches for yourself.

The Dior Cruise Show Took Us on a Literal and Figurative Journey to Marrakech
The biggest names in the fashion industry took a trip to Morocco this week, when Maria Grazia Chiuri invited guests to the incredible Palais El Badi in Marrakech for the Dior Cruise 2020 show. The atmospheric grounds of the ancient palace were transformed into a runway, as models walked around the courtyard pool, which was lit with torches and bonfires to light up the night for the evening show. With the likes of Lupita Nyong'o, Jessica Alba, and Karlie Kloss in the front row, the designer presented a collection that traveled across continents, paying homage to pan-African craftsmanship and traditions, fusing them with heritage Dior hallmarks and new ideas.
The fashion house called on experts in African fashion and design to ensure this was a show that focused on cultural appreciation, not cultural appropriation. French anthropologist Anne Grosfilley assisted the designer as she researched and developed the collection, introducing her to some of the collaborators who helped with elements like the wax prints. Keep reading for all you need to know about the show.
