It can be difficult to follow a
weight loss "diet" that limits
portions to very low
sizes or excludes certain
food. You may have difficulty

long term. Instead, a clean environment
meal plan takes into account
their likes and dislikes, and
includes a variety of foods
that will give you enough calories
and nutrients for good health.
Make sure your health
eating plan is one that:
It is based on fruits,
vegetables, whole grains,
and low-fat or nonfat
milk and milk products.
Includes lean meats,
poultry, fish, beans, eggs,
and nuts.
It is low in saturated fat,
trans fats, cholesterol,
salt (sodium), and added
sugars.
The nutrition label

in most packaged foods.
It tells how many calories
and the amount of fat, protein,
carbohydrates, and other
nutrients are in a portion
