Kelly Rowland Is Launching a Makeup Line For the "Chocolate Girls" Out There

The makeup industry is making strides to better represent people of all skin tones, so when Kelly Rowland announced she was getting into the beauty game, we got seriously excited. The Destiny's Child singer, who is teaming up with her makeup artist Sheika Daley on her upcoming brand, revealed to Essence that their first product will be concentrated on lashes.

She also acknowledged how important it was for the line to have products suited for ladies with darker skin tones, saying, "Definitely making sure we have our chocolate girls covered. Gotta get the chocolate girls in there! We have to have that, you know."

Though there isn't a set launch date for Kelly's makeup line or any information about what the names of the products will be (any chance she'll name something after her BFF Beyoncé?), we're eagerly anticipating her collection. Though we've seen more brands celebrate deep complexions in recent years, the industry still has a long way to go in terms of diversity. Beauty fanatics of all skin tones should have a variety of options to choose from, so Kelly's company will be a welcome addition to the market.
