Why Is the USA the Only Country Cutting Recess From Their Children's Schedules?

In Europe, having children spend a large part of their day exploring and learning outside - even if it's freezing out - is a huge priority for teachers and parents. Why then, do American kids spend a shocking average of only seven minutes outside per day in comparison? In a video posted to Facebook, ATTN: looks at the differences between Europe and the US and is attempting to explain why it is that up to 40 percent of American school districts have reduced or eliminated recess, but in Europe, recess isn't viewed as a "waste of time."
