Stop Everything: MAC Cosmetics Is Having Its First-Ever Sample Sale

When I received word that MAC Cosmetics would be hosting its first-ever sample sale, I literally clutched at my heart with shock. "I may throw up with excitement," I said aloud. Though I have access to many brands and products, I'm particularly fond of MAC: its range of pigmented formulas, bold celebrity collaborations, and charitable initiatives make me both excited and proud to be a beauty junkie. The fact that the company has a rewards program for its most dedicated shoppers is just icing on the proverbial cake. So yes, I am pumped about this news.

However, there's one catch: the sample sale will be hosted exclusively in New York City, where MAC's headquarters are located. Should you be lucky enough to be in the area, you can snatch up your favorite products for a generous 60 percent off. The sale will be held at the Metropolitan Pavilion's Fourth Floor Gallery (123 West 18th St.) on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, July 19, 2-7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, July 20, 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
  • Thursday, July 21, 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
  • Friday, July 22, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Fan favorites like Velvetease Lip Pencil ($14) and Studio Nail Lacquer ($12) will be available, and with a 60 percent discount, that means they'll be less than $6 and $5, respectively. Beloved MAC lipsticks (typically $17) will cost a mere $7! If you plan on attending, keep in mind that everything is final sale and that you'll likely face some serious jostling from fellow MAC fanatics.
