4 Details About the New Apple Watch That Will Make You Want to Get It
Almost two years since Apple announced the original Apple Watch, the company revealed the followup: the Apple Watch Series 2. Read all the details to see if it's finally worth investing in.
- Built-in GPS tracker: You can now leave your iPhone at home with the built-in GPS tracker available on the Apple Watch Series 2.
- Swim proof: It's water resistant for 50 meters. This means you can finally wear the watch when you're swimming or surfing.
- Brighter than any Apple device: The screen is now twice as bright than before and it's the "brightest display that Apple has ever shipped."
- New Material: A new material, in addition to stainless steel, is coming to the Apple Watch: ceramic.
Everything about the new Apple Watch will of course come with watchOS 3. Plenty of new features will be available like new watch faces, a Breathe app to help you take a moment to yourself, an SOS app to make sure you can make an emergency call in seconds. If you're also someone who still plays Pokémon Go, the app is coming to the Apple Watch.
The Apple Watch Series 2 will cost $369 and will be out Sept. 16. The Apple Watch with Nike+ capabilities will also be priced at $369 and out in late October. Preorders begin Sept. 9. Check out photos of the new watchOS 3 in action ahead.
