Get Ready For the Most Over-the-Top Geek Wedding Your Eyes Have Seen
Get ready to check out a totally rad wedding, complete with Pac-Man and Transformers. Heather Rice was the fabulous photographer for Melissa and Kenny's big day and told us how they love all things '80s and a no-humdrum, simple wedding would suffice. The two were introduced by their best friends and planned a destination wedding in Florida from their home in Ohio.
Melissa wanted to surprise her soon-to-be husband, who's a big Transformers fan, so she asked none other than Optimus Prime to walk her down the aisle. Kenny's reaction was priceless. "Having Optimus Prime seated in the front row, observing the wedding, was a new high for me as a wedding photographer . . . the whole thing was amazing!" said Heather. Not only that, but the groom and his wedding party wore custom Transformers tees under their button-downs and posed with Optimus Prime for photos.
The bridal party was missing one of the bride's best friends, so they included her by having a photo printed of her face. There were some other incredible moments that took place throughout the reception, like when Melissa was surprised with a Miss Piggy doll and a custom Pac-Man and Mrs. Pac-Man cake, with other Pac-Man details hidden throughout the venue. "This was hands down one of the most fun weddings I've ever photographed," said Heather. See what she means by peeping some wedding photos ahead.
