The #OptimisticChallenge Is the Pick-Me-Up You Need Right Now
Following Donald Trump's inauguration as the 45th president of the United States, many of us have been left scratching our heads and questioning our entire existence. But there's a light at the end of the tunnel, and it goes by the name of the #OptimisticChallenge. This brand-new viral challenge is encouraging people to keep their chins up during these challenging political times. And one of our favorite musicians, Chance the Rapper, just stepped up to the plate to spread the positive vibes with his Twitter followers like the absolute ray of sunshine he really is.
The hip-hop artist posted a video in which he busts a move with three friends as "Optimistic" by Sounds of Blackness plays in the background. The song has quite the powerful underlying message, with lyrics like "When in the midst of sorrow, you can't see up when looking down. A brighter day tomorrow will bring."

It turns out Chance and his crew aren't the first ones to think of this idea, as Jay Versace actually popularized it earlier this year. He tweeted an entertaining video of him and his friends enthusiastically dancing to the 1991 hit song in the middle of the road with a message of positivity about the new year.

His fans couldn't get enough of the choreography, so much so that one officially dubbed it the #OptimisticChallenge. And thus, the latest internet trend was born.
