It doesn't matter if you're the best parent in the world or if your child is actually an angel - at some point you are going to endure a brutal public meltdown. Whether you're the experienced mom who has to deal with these embarrassing fits almost every time you leave the house or you're caught off guard the first time your darling tot throws herself to the floor of a store, your mind is flooded with thoughts that you would love to say out loud - but never do. You're not alone; Tina Fey gets it and knows exactly what it's like to deal witha less than pleased threenager ready to make his or her desires known - in a very public way.
- Maybe if I make this fast it will be OK.
- I have a very bad feeling about this.
- Ugh, why didn't nap time happen the way it was supposed to today?
- I just have a feeling she is about to kick off.
- I have to stay strong.
- How can something so cute turn so hateful this fast?
- I know I said I'd never bribe, but if it gets the strangers to stop staring . . .
- I'm going to need some coffee (or wine) to get through this.
- It feels like everyone is just stopping and looking - thanks for the help, guys.
- What happened to the sweet child I had a few minutes ago?
- OK, now this is just getting ridiculous.
- What happens if I just let her cry it out?
- Nothing in life is worthy of this fit!
- I swear, if one more person gives me a dirty look . . .
- Who are these people judging: me or my kid?
- I seriously don't have time for this.
- She really knows how to push my buttons; I have to give her credit for that.
- OK, at this point she can have whatever she wants, as long as this madness stops.
- And people wonder why I look so tired.
- Am I the world's worst mother?
- Who can I call for some backup?
- What's wrong with me that I can't control my own kid?
- I swear, I'll never judge another parent ever again.
- Maybe if I ignore her and pretend like it isn't happening, she'll stop?
- OK, I think the end is in sight.
- Thank goodness it's over, but I'm so traumatized from that entire ordeal I may never leave the house again.
