Not Even an Infuriating Office Rule Stops This Working Mom From Nursing Her Son
Being a single mom with a full-time job is certainly a challenge, but those struggles are only heightened after bringing a newborn into the world. In a post recently shared on the Breastfeeding Mama Talk Facebook page, one single working mom opened up about how she had to return to the office just two weeks after her son's birth. Her decision to breastfeed her baby ended up having a shocking impact on her paycheck, as she was apparently required to clock out in order to pump her breast milk while on the job.
"Single mom gone all day at work but paid for a little over half because I have to clock out to pump," she explained. The mama went on to describe how she's "not supplying enough milk," so she has to supplement it, which "breaks [her] heart." Gosh, our hearts are breaking too just thinking about this!
But there's a silver lining in her situation. Her babysitter drives her son to the office so she's able to nurse him, and when she does, "All the bad goes away," she explained. Now that's what we call dedication . . . power to the pump!
