This Heart-Wrenching Ad Shows Just How Devastating Infertility Really Is
There are plenty of soul-crushing aspects to infertility, not least of which is how isolating it can feel. Women struggling to conceive are often suffering in secrecy - attending friend's baby showers and celebrating others' joyful moments while mourning their own losses alone.
American Greetings is doing its part to shed light on what it's really like for women unable to get pregnant . . . and what the rest of us should be doing about it.
From the negative pregnancy tests and anxiety-inducing doctor appointments to the seemingly futile task of ovulation tracking and the silent moments pierced with tears, the card company released a powerful commercial titled "Not Alone" that depicts one couple's difficult journey - and how much it matters when someone acknowledges their hidden pain.
Sure, a card is just a card, but this video is a poignant reminder that even the smallest gestures can mean something big to those who need them most.
