This Man Built a 300,000-Gallon Pool in His Backyard, and It's Insane
This time of year we all fantasize about having a pool in our backyards - be it a scrappy stock tank pool or a fancy in-ground one - but an Alberta, Canada, couple took their family's wish for somewhere to swim to the next level. Jerry and Marina Leussink built a 300,000-gallon pool! Yes, you read that correctly. The completed structure looks more like a small lake. It features a shallow end for the couple's grandkids to play in and a deep end that goes 14 feet down. The pool is so wide that even boats can be used on it!
The giant pool makes the Leussink's farm feel more like a resort, and it's a magnet for their extended family in the Summer. With all the use it gets, they keep it clean with chlorine and an extensive filtration system that keeps the water constantly flowing. The cost of building such a megapool? $15,000. Pricey, but not bad compared to the cost of a traditional in-ground pool. Get all the details in the video above.Related Posts:
