Vogue Apologizes for Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik's Controversial Magazine Cover

Update: A spokesperson for Vogue released a statement apologizing for the mishap saying, "The story was intended to highlight the impact the gender-fluid, non-binary communities have had on fashion and culture. We are very sorry the story did not correctly reflect that spirit - we missed the mark. We do look forward to continuing the conversation with greater sensitivity."

Update: The couple's first Vogue cover has caused some controversy. People are upset by the fact that two celebrities in a straight relationship are being made to represent the gender-fluid community. Many are bothered by the fact that the duo claiming to wear each other's clothes is enough to classify them as gender fluid, using Twitter to voice their concerns. Have a look below.

Original Post: Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik are just one of those couples that seem to be able to pull off any look, and their cover of Vogue's August 2017 issue proves just that. For the couple's first cover together (but not their first Vogue shoot!) the duo wore stunning Gucci suits and discussed being a part of the generation that embraces gender fluidity.

Gucci's own creative director Alessandro Michele is paving the way in gender fluidity with his runway shows. The couple tells the magazine they're glad to be part of that - and that they borrow items from each other all the time. "It's not about gender. It's about, like, shapes. And what feels good on you that day. And anyway, it's fun to experiment," Gigi said. Read on to see more from their shoot together and find out who Gigi's fashion icons are in her "73 questions" video.
