Would You Let This Travel Agency Send You on a "Surprise" Vacation?

If you've ever daydreamed about clicking your heels and arriving at a destination - sans the effort of planning - then we've got some good news for you. There are travel agencies out there like Pack Up + Go that will plan a "surprise" trip for you if you're willing to take the chance and dive in blind for a mystery vacation.
These trips are actually perfect for people who hate to plan but love to travel; the agency takes care of all the logistics, and you simply sit back and wait to set off on your adventure. It may sound a little crazy, but the way it works is actually quite interesting. The site breaks down the process for how it plans the two-night, three-day, United States-based trips for travelers:
- You answer a few simple questions. You detail your budget per person for the adventure, your ideal travel dates, some of your personal travel preferences (hobbies, interests, what type of traveler you are, accommodation preferences, dietary restrictions), and all of your basic information like birthday, etc.
- Pack Up + Go books your travel and accommodations. Using the budget you've laid out, the agency does all the hard work, like booking your hotels, flights, and more. For a three-day weekend getaway by bus, train, or plane, the minimum cost is $650 per person, but if you're interested in a road trip, the minimum cost is $400.
- You get final details a week before your trip. One week before your departure dates, Pack Up + Go will send you vital information like the weather forecast for your "mystery destination," recommended items to pack (ex.: bathing suit, hiking boots), luggage size restrictions, and - of course - where to show up and when on your departure date! You might be directed to an airport, a train station, who knows . . .
- A few days before your trip, you receive an envelope in the mail. You're not supposed to open it when you receive it! The envelope contains directions to your accommodations and your city guide. The travel agency will already have the research complete and ready for you to use. It sends you off with "a curated list of recommendations for everything from cafes to nightlife to rainy day activities" and a promise that you won't be bored wherever you go.
- You show up to your departure location. Now you can open your envelope and find out where you're headed, board your form of transport, and enjoy your trip!
Sometimes part of the fun of traveling is the planning process, but it's also exciting to be spontaneous and go wherever the wind (or a travel agency comprising experts) blows you. Pack Up + Go's motto is "be adventurous, be spontaneous, embrace the unknown," and with the help of a trustworthy team figuring out the details, it sounds pretty damn appealing.
