Kesha's Powerful, Goosebumps-Inducing Grammys Performance Basically Broke the Internet
When Kesha took the stage at the 2018 Grammy Awards - surrounded by a group of talented, supportive women and with all eyes (and ears) on her message - it was one hell of a long time coming. Fans everywhere sat captivated as Kesha belted out "Praying," quite understandably choking up with emotion at times, and the response across social media to her powerful Time's Up statement was overwhelming.
Many noted how cathartic it must feel for the singer to sing her truth in front of many industry folks who ignored her plight in a devastating legal battle with Dr. Luke (Kesha's former producer and alleged rapist). Others compared Kesha to a phoenix rising from the ashes and slammed the Recording Academy for not awarding her the Grammy for best pop solo performance.
