Sarah Hyland's Ballerina Bun Is Full of Hidden Surprises
No, the above photo is not of an Audrey Hepburn hologram walking the blue carpet at the 2018 Critics' Choice Awards - it's Sarah Hyland serving up major Audrey vibes with her ballerina bun and ruby red lipstick. The Modern Family star showed up to the event wearing a very Roman Holiday-esque look, but zoom in and you'll see a modern edge to this retro beauty look.
Hairstylist Ryan Richman styled Sarah's bun with ample texture, utilizing not one but two fishtail braids. He began by working Suave Professionals Natural Volume Mousse ($4) into Sarah's damp hair, starting at the ends. He then added the product upward before blow-drying the hair into a smooth side part.
After pulling the hair into a low pony, Ryan split it into two sections and fishtail braided both. He finished that step off by spritzing with Suave Professionals Natural Hold Micro Mist Hairspray ($4).
Finally, he wrapped both braids into a low, slightly asymmetric bun. And there you have it: Old Hollywood glamour in the front, 2018 party in the back.
