Seth Meyers Did Not Hold Back in His Golden Globes Opening Monologue
The tone was decidedly different at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards. Following a difficult year, celebrities wore pins in honor of the Time's Up initiative and all-black ensembles to protest sexual harassment in the industry and stand in solidarity with those who have come forward. The task, then, of hosting this year's ceremony - bestowed upon Seth Meyers - was not an easy one.
The 44-year-old comedian and talk show host was unflinchingly honest in his opening monologue, which touched on the current political landscape, Harvey Weinstein, and the Me Too movement. As an indication of just how honest the monologue was setting up to be, Meyers began by saying, "Welcome, ladies and remaining gentlemen." Watch the monologue in its entirety above and then check out his best jokes here.
