Stars Celebrate MLK Day at the Image Awards - See the Best Snaps From the Night!
Some of Hollywood's best and brightest black entertainers stepped out for the NAACP Image Awards in LA on Monday. The date was a fitting one, as it marked Martin Luther King Jr. Day; in his opening monologue, Black-ish star and host Anthony Anderson spoke to the significance of the evening "as a night of hope and pride honoring our history and those who make history." Many other celebrity attendees paid homage to the late civil rights icon in their heartfelt acceptance speeches and award presentations.
Legendary actor Danny Glover was honored with the President's Award for his decades-long commitment to activism and "phenomenal altruistic efforts both domestically and internationally," while Octavia Spencer, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Daniel Kaluuya took home trophies for their stellar performances and contributions to the African-American community. Jordan Peele, SZA, Idris Elba, and Tiffany Haddish were also awarded during a pretelecast ceremony on Sunday evening.
The event was packed with inspiring moments, striking red carpet fashion, cute couples, and yes, a hint of eye candy thanks to stars like Sterling K. Brown, Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, and Terry Crews. Keep reading to see the best photos from the NAACP Image Awards.
