The Big Weight-Loss Mistake This Revenge Body Trainer Doesn't Want You to Make

It seems like everything matters when you're trying to lose weight. You have to be diligent about what you eat, how often you work out, and the kind of people you surround yourself with. Let's not sugarcoat it: it can feel very overwhelming at times.
POPSUGAR spoke with Corey Calliet, a Revenge Body trainer who also regularly works with Michael B. Jordan, and he has seen countless clients struggle with their weight-loss goals. We asked him to tell us the number one mistake he sees people making when they're trying to shed pounds and get healthy. His one-word answer? "Stopping."
"That's it. That's the biggest mistake," he told us. Losing weight takes a lot of dedication and consistency, and Corey says many people end up doing things they don't love to do, which hinders them from achieving their goals. For example, if you don't like to run, yet you keep doing it because you think it's going to help you lose weight, you're just going to end up quitting.
Similarly, if you start to follow a specific diet just because it's worked for your friends previously, but you hate the food you're eating every day, you're going to revert back to your habits pretty quickly.
You have to find the workouts and the healthy food that you actually like doing and eating. "Having patience and finding what we can actually enjoy" is crucial in your weight-loss regimen, according to Corey, "because a lot of people go do things they don't enjoy, and that distracts them from doing what they need to do."
"So find something that you really love, and don't quit at it," Corey advised. "But don't stop. By stopping, you're always going to be a step back."
