Trader Joe's Is Now Selling the Most Controversial Cookie From Your Childhood

You either love 'em or you absolutely loathe them: they're frosted sugar cookies, and they're hitting shelves in a Trader Joe's near you. The cult-favorite grocery chain unveiled its newest nostalgic addition in a blog post, and they're colorful, soft, and ridiculously sweet! Contrary to the ultrachemical flavor you might remember from your childhood birthday parties, though, the sugar cookies at TJ's are formulated without artificial dyes.

The soft, dense cookie is made with the usual sugar cookie ingredients: flour, sugar, margarine, eggs, and butter. It's covered with a generous layer of cream-colored frosting - frosting so sweet and creamy, you'll wonder what you did to deserve such a treat. Then, since no sugar cookie is complete without them, we top each cookie with a splash of rainbow sprinkles, which have been colored using fruit and vegetable extracts rather than artificial dyes.

The cookies are available in packs of 10 for only $3, so you don't have to feel guilty about picking up a few on your next grocery run. Vote in our poll about whether you adore or detest these controversial cookies! That will tell us all we need to know about whether or not you'll be stocking your cart with Trader Joe's latest offering.
