Kelly Clarkson's Knockout US Open Performance Was Basically an Audition For the Super Bowl
How has Kelly Clarkson never performed during the Super Bowl halftime show? The question crossed many people's minds after the 36-year-old singer delivered a stellar performance at the 2018 US Open. Wearing a silver fringe dress, Kelly performed a medley of hits, including "Since U Been Gone," "Heartbeat Song," and "Walk Away."
Despite the fact that Kelly is about as American as, well, the Super Bowl, she's only performed during the sporting event once when she sang the National Anthem in 2012. Now, fans have started a social media campaign calling for Kelly to be chosen as the performer at the next Super Bowl in Atlanta on Feb. 3, 2019. Pepsi has, in the past, announced halftime show performers in September and October, so hopefully they're taking note for future halftime shows, if not for next year.
