Ryan Reynolds's Detective Pikachu Somehow Looks Strange and Sweet at the Very Same Time
Despite early doubts, the first trailer for Pokémon: Detective Pikachu has been released and it looks pretty damn cute. Based on the recent video game of the same name, the movie follows a disillusioned young man living among Pokémon who suddenly discovers he has the ability to hear Pikachu. The movie stars Ryan Reynolds - yes, as Pikachu - and is the first live-action movie for the nostalgic franchise.
Does this all sounds absolutely ridiculous? Yes. Is it strange to hear Pikachu speak like a human being? For sure. Why does Jigglypuff look so goddamn scary? Unclear. But will people still be seeing Detective Pikachu in theaters? It sure seems like it!
