Buttered Popcorn Oreos Are in the Works, and TBH, I Don't Know What to Feel

We're less than a week into the new year, and we already have a handful of new Oreo flavors to fuel us through 2019. As if the news of flavors like Carrot Cake and Dark Chocolate haven't been enough to pique your interest, perhaps the rumors of Oreo's latest out-of-the-box offering, Buttered Popcorn, will do the trick.

Food blogger The Junk Food Aisle took to Instagram to post the first look at the upcoming treat's packaging. "I got to try one of these last month without being told what flavor it was, and I would have put all my money on it being 'Pineapple' after just licking the creme," the caption reads. "Eating it in its natural sandwich cookie state though and it becomes everyone's least favorite Jelly Belly." The user also added that the cookies are apparently "coming soon," though Oreo hasn't officially confirmed the rumors.

Judging by the product packaging, Buttered Popcorn Oreos are made with golden Oreos and yellow creme filling that'll likely provide much of the butter flavor. To be honest, they don't exactly sound like they're the worst thing in the world, depending on what you're into. Then again, I can't even imagine what a buttered-popcorn-flavored cookie actually tastes like if a person initially mistook its flavor for pineapple . . . a fruit. Guess we'll all just have to judge for ourselves if and when these are eventually rolled out.
