Everything You Need to Know About Using Lush's Shower Bombs

"Late to bed and early to rise" - that's how I would describe my sleep schedule. It takes an extensive meditation session and laying under a weighted blanket to actually knock me out. I began googling things that could help ease my sleeplessness and came across Lush's Sleepy Shower Bomb ($4). The $4, cloud-shaped clump of soap carries with it the fragrance of one of the brand's bestselling products - the calm-inducing, lavender-scented Sleepy Body Lotion ($10).
I decided to test it out during my pre-bedtime shower. To use it, I pulled up Lush's 38-second "How to Use Shower Bombs" video - and it's a good thing that I did. Had I not watched the tutorial, I would have just dropped the cloud into my tub the way I would the brand's bath bombs. I learned very quickly that these bombs work very differently.
I placed it in the palm of my hand and ran it under the shower water until it softened. Then, I broke pieces of it off and rubbed it across my wet skin. In just a few swipes across my shoulders, the nugget I had pulled off of the cloud fizzed and broke down, creating a light and airy lather that was similar to shaving cream. Once I'd covered my entire body in lather - an easy feat since the tiny bomb exploded into more than enough - I rinsed it away. My skin felt silky soft, and indescribably smooth. My shower was filled with the scent of citrus and lavender, which I slowly and deeply inhaled. I instantly felt more relaxed, but after patting my skin dry and stepping out of my bathroom, I noticed the fragrance didn't linger on my skin. I slathered myself with Sleepy Body Lotion to keep the calm going and let the dreamy scent lull me to sleep.
See the bedtime essentials, ahead.
