There Wasn't a Dry Eye in the House After Glenn Close's Emotional Golden Globes Speech
Glenn Close won the 2019 Golden Globe for best actress in a drama on Sunday, and she used the opportunity to send a powerful message to women everywhere. The Wife star gave a touching and emotional speech as she detailed her 45 years as an actress and emphasized the importance of finding your own passion. Close described how her own mother sublimated to her father and what that taught her about pursuing her own future.
"I feel what I learned through this whole experience . . . we are women and nurturers . . . we have our children, and our husbands if we are lucky enough, our partners, whoever," Close said. "But we have to find personal fulfillment. We have to follow our dreams."
