This Is the Year I'm Finally Going to Take Care of My Skin Like an Adult

Working here at POPSUGAR, I'm constantly exposed to the latest and greatest in beauty products, with experts all around me. So, it's even more embarrassing to admit that in 2018, there were many nights I'd go to bed without removing my makeup and giving my skin the care it deserves. I know, not great. But, new year, new me, right?! I am proud to say that - save for one night because I'm only human - I have washed my face and done some kind of skincare routine every single night before bed. Plus, this forced ritual has even made me much more diligent about my morning skin care. I want to start and end the day with a fresh face in 2019.

The key I've found to actually sticking to my resolution? Keeping it simple. There's no 10-step routine for me - just the basics, and a few extras where you think you need help. For me, I have hyperpigmentation and acne scars, so I'm working to combat that. Plus, I'm all about a good glow. I never want to be matte, personally, so vitamin C is a critical part of my morning routine. Lastly, it's Winter, so the air is dry and cold. I need to be moisturized at all times, and that includes my lips, hands, and neck.
