Parents Share Heartbreaking Warning About Their Girl's Deadly Decision

After Gwen and Terry Zwanziger's otherwise healthy teenage daughter died from a simple case of the flu, they are speaking out to warn other parents.

It's been more than 836 days since Shannon's death, but for her mom, the situation is still just as scary as ever. When Shannon came to her with a sore throat and a low fever, Gwen wasn't alarmed and now two years later, she can only hope her daughter knows how sorry she is for not fighting her.

At 17 years old, Shannon didn't want to get the flu vaccine and now her mom is left dealing with the guilt of not insisting on it. "If I had pushed her into getting a flu shot, then I wouldn't have the guilt about 'what if,'" Gwen told CNN. "What if the vaccine had given her a little extra control over the invasion? That's what the vaccine should do. While you can still get the flu even if you've had a flu shot, it can reduce the risk of serious illness and complications."

But instead, Shannon came home from school complaining that a classmate gave her the flu. So Gwen sent her to her room with an array of fluids and medicine. When Shannon didn't seem to be improving a few days later, her dad took her to a clinic while her mom stayed back to clean her room and change her sheets. "Terry sent me a picture of Shannon sitting in a wheelchair with a mask on, leaning her head on his shoulder," Gwen said. "That's the last picture we have of her."

The doctor advised that they just "let it run its course," but 36 hours later Shannon came downstairs and asked for help taking a bath. By this point her mom was "sweating in fear" because she hadn't helped her daughter bathe since she was a small child. "Something was horribly wrong. When she leaned back in the tub and I saw her eyes, I knew she was dying," she said. "I got behind her and lifted her out. I sat on the toilet with her sitting on my lap and she died. There was nothing that could be done to save her."

Gwen explained that the flu destroyed her daughter's organs without her even knowing it and there was nothing that could be done to revive her.

Please take the flu seriously. Keep your loved ones home if you even think they might be sick. Or else you might live wondering if a classmate died because your child brought that strain into the classroom.

Please take action. If we do nothing, then we are all to blame. And believe me, guilt will change your life.

I was just a regular mom of a regular kid. Now I'm a shell of the person I was. And the world will never see what Shannon could have become.

Look Back at Marilyn Monroe's Iconic Glamour in These 19 Gorgeous Photos

Big Little Lies: Here's Who REALLY Sang Adam Scott's Elvis Cover

Before we found out who the victim is on Big Little Lies, we found out that Ed is a seriously talented singer. The finale aired on Sunday night and included several performances by Elvis-impersonating parents. The covers are a great addition to the already-packed soundtrack, but while Zoë Kravitz really sang her part, Adam Scott had a vocal stand-in. During an interview with Conan O'Brien, Scott admitted that he took singing lessons for weeks, but in the end, his voice just wasn't strong enough for the number.

The director, Jean-Marc Vallée, spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about his choice to bring in a ringer, saying that both Scott and James Tupper, who plays Nathan, "have the worst voices ever." Harsh! "I wanted this to be emotional and beautiful so I asked Conor O'Brien, the lead singer of the Irish band the Villagers, to be Adam Scott's voice," Vallée said. "When Adam in episode four or five is practicing in his living room, that's not Adam. It's Conor O'Brien."

Here's the cover!

A School Physically Marked Kids Who Were Running Low on Lunch Money

When Tara Chavez's son came home from school one afternoon, she noticed a mark on his arm. The mom from Arizona immediately asked her second grader about it and was surprised to learn that it was a stamp on his inner wrist boldly declaring, "Lunch Money."

Tara's child explained that his lunch account was low and though the elementary school still fed him, they stamped his arm instead of sending a note home. "My kid's really weird about stuff like that, so I asked if he was given a choice by the lunch lady and he said, 'No, she just grabbed my wrist and put the stamp on,'" Tara told BuzzFeed. "I was surprised. Normally I get a slip in his folder when he needs more money."

Tara's friend posted a picture of the child's arm on Twitter after learning how embarrassed the school made him feel, which quickly went viral. "He was humiliated, didn't even want me to take a picture of it," Tara said.

The concerned mom promptly emailed Desert Cove Elementary School's principal about the situation. "[The staff member in the cafeteria] doesn't want the students to be embarrassed either so she is supposed to ask them if they want a stamp or a reminder slip," the principal responded, according to BuzzFeed.

Although the principal said that she would talk to staff about the situation, Tara hopes that the school realizes the impact it had on her child. "I think there's a better way to communicate the message than stamping a child with the words 'Lunch Money,'" she added. "There's a billion other ways you could do it that would be better than that."

There's Just Something Special About Camilla Belle's Style - You'll Notice Too

We must confess, we're a little obsessed with Camilla Belle's style. There is just something very special about it, and we can't quite put our finger on what it is.

It could be that she wears long, flowy gowns to red carpet events that make her look like a Disney princess. Or it could be that she puts together pieces we would never think to wear together and totally rocks them. Or perhaps it has to do with the way she pays attention to every detail of her look, from her hair to her lipstick to her shoes, often wearing clashing prints in such a delicate way, it requires zooming in to notice. We're still not sure - let us know if looking at her best outfits of the year, ahead, gives you any clues.

Alright, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner Are Pretty Damn Cute Together

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner are still in the mushy love stage of their romance, and we have to admit that we kind of love it. The pair, who first sparked dating rumors in November, were spotted taking a PDA-filled stroll in LA on Sunday. After grabbing some juice, the Game of Thrones actress linked arms with her boyfriend before hugging him from behind as they walked down the street. They then sat down together, where Sophie adorably rested her head on Joe's shoulder and they shared a few laughs. Since Sophie is gearing up for the season seven premiere of her hit HBO show, fingers crossed she'll bring Joe as her date to an official red carpet event.

Big Little Lies: Time to Obsess Over Zoë Kravitz's Elvis Cover

Big Little Lies went out with, well, a shove on Sunday night. We got answers to our burning questions - Who's dead? Who's the murderer? And who raped Jane? - as we finally get to see the Audrey Hepburn and Elvis Presley-themed fundraiser. One of the greatest highlights of the episode, behind seeing a certain wife-beating scumbag get what's been coming to him, is the Elvis sing-off. While Ed had been practicing for weeks for his big number, we had no idea Bonnie would be the star of the show. Zoë Kravitz sang her cover of "Don't" herself, which shouldn't come as a huge surprise, given her genetic makeup. (She's the daughter of legendary rocker Lenny Kravitz.) Here's the cover, straight off of the Big Little Lies soundtrack.

Here's the original, for comparison!

Why Daenerys Targaryen Is Game of Thrones' Prince That Was Promised

Daenerys Targaryen has had one of the most interesting storylines in Game of Thrones so far, but her role on the series might be even more important than previously thought. There are signs scattered throughout both the books and the TV show that the prince in the prophecy of "The Prince That Was Promised" - which many fans assume is Jon Snow - could actually end up being a princess, instead (i.e. Daenerys). After the sixth season's most fiery episode yet, we're more convinced than ever that Dany is the chosen one. Keep reading to see what's potentially in store for everybody's favorite dragon-riding khaleesi, and then see if your Game of Thrones obsession has gone too far.

6 Things You Should Probably Know About Prison Break's Wentworth Miller

Wentworth Miller is best known for his ridiculously good looks and his role as Michael Scofield in Fox's Prison Break, but there's so much more to him than that. Like, did you know that he has a bachelor's degree from Princeton University, or that he's starred in not one, but two Mariah Carey music videos? Read on to get to know more about the star in six quick facts.

  1. Wentworth is a dual citizen. He was born in England to American parents and moved to Brooklyn when he was just a year old. Each of his parents have at least three different ethnic backgrounds. "My father is black and my mother is white. Therefore, I could answer to either, which kind of makes me a racial Lone Ranger, at times, caught between two communities," he previously told GQ Germany. His dad has Jamaican, African-American, Jewish, and English ancestry, while his mom is Russian, French, Dutch, Syrian, and Lebanese.
  2. He's gay. The actor famously came out as gay in 2013, and in an interview with Details the following year, Wentworth opened up about his decision, saying he felt more open and honest. "I feel more fully expressed. After Prison Break, I came to grips with the fact that my public persona was in misalignment with how I actually felt. I was out to a handful of people in my twenties, and once I hit 30, I was out to family and friends. But professionally, I was feeding a fantasy. I created this air of 'We don't address that thing.'"
  3. He has a bachelor's degree in English literature. Wentworth graduated from Princeton University in 1995, and during his time there, he sang with the a cappella group Tigertones, performed in Theatre Intime's production of Amadeus, and drew political cartoons for The Daily Princetonian.
  4. Wentworth has starred in two Mariah Carey music videos. Not only did he play Mariah's main love interest in her 2005 video for "We Belong Together," but Wentworth also appeared as a party guest in her 2009 "It's Like That" video.
  5. He also made an appearance on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Before he made it big on Prison Break, Wentworth made his first onscreen role as Gage Petronzi, a member of the Sunnydale High Swim Team who becomes a Gill Monster, in the episode "Go Fish." He's also appeared in films, including Underworld, The Loft, and Resident Evil: Afterlife.
  6. He's a screenwriter. His movie scripts include Stoker, its prequel Uncle Charlie, and The Disappointments Room. During an interview with Movieline back in 2010, Wentworth revealed he used the name Ted Foulke as a pseudonym, saying, "That wasn't about protecting my identity. I just wanted the scripts to sink or swim on their own."

After an Upscale Restaurant Bans Children, Parents Have Mixed Reviews

In North Carolina, an upscale Italian restaurant has banned all children under 5 years old. In January, the owner of Caruso's, Pasquale Caruso, became distressed when a couple refused to turn down the volume of a game their daughter was playing on the family's iPad. That's when they asked the family to leave and consequently instated the controversial rule.

A manager at Caruso's, Yoshi Nunez, spoke to The Washington Post about the incident that started it all. "They were upset, but they didn't seem to care about what the other guests thought." Adding, "We tried to be nice about the situation, but we're here to take care of customers and we can't tell a parent how to control their kids."

Nunez went on to say that the staff fully supports the decision. "Banning children has always been a topic in the industry and every owner says, 'I wish I could do it.' Our owner has the full support of the staff. We work here to make a living, too, and we support our owner 100 percent," he said.

Although the restaurant's employees support the rule, the reaction from diners has been mixed. On Yelp, one reviewer wrote, "No kids? Weren't the owners once children who went with their parents to restaurants? Did those restaurants have a no-kid policy?" On the other hand, a different reviewer applauded the decision and said, "We will definitely come here for a fancy date night!"

Despite the controversy, Nunez said the ban has actually helped business and claimed there has been a noticeable increase in reservations and customers.

Dad's Surprising Response to Finding Out His Wife Thinks He "Hates" Cosleeping

Some families love cosleeping, but there are a fair amount of people who can't get behind having tiny limbs kicking and elbowing them in the face, giving them little room on the bed and driving them further into a state of sleep deprivation. However, when one dad heard his wife's friend ask her over the phone, "Doesn't your husband hate [cosleeping]? My husband would never let me do that," he had an unexpected reaction that went beyond the subject of cosleeping.

"This blew my mind and has bothered me for days," David Brinkley wrote in a post shared to the Love What Matters Facebook page. "So I just decided to come out as a man and set a few things straight. I do NOT hate any part of what makes my wife the mother that she is. I would NEVER degrade or disregard anything that she feels like doing for my children. Do I have to squeeze into a small corner of the bed sometimes? Yeah? But my god, how beautiful does she look holding my children? Making them feel loved and safe?"

The dad continues, speaking to other fathers candidly about respecting their wives as the mothers of their children, who grow up all too quickly.

The thing is that our wives only experience these little seasons in motherhood for a short time. They carry our babies, they birth them, they nurture them and maybe while they are little they let them crawl into our beds and snuggle. But eventually our babies get bigger they grow up they get "too cool" for snuggles so why would we as men want to steal a single second of this time from them?

Being mothers is part of their identity and what's a year or three out of decades of life spent together? I just want to say that I am proud of the decisions my wife makes as a mom and I support every single one of them. I would never want to rob her of this time she has or these seasons that are in reality too short to not enjoy. Please respect your wives as mothers.

Rebel Wilson Played an Impressive April Fools' Prank on the Pitch Perfect 3 Set

Rebel Wilson is hard at work filming Pitch Perfect 3, but you know you can always count on her to make room for a little fun. The actress decided to take full advantage of being on set on April Fools' Day and pulled off a pretty elaborate prank on the cast and crew. While leaving her trailer, Rebel, or "Fat Amy," as Pitch Perfect fans know her, pretended to take a horrible fall and badly cut up her leg. Members of the crew then rushed to help her, and while they were all gathered around, she shouted, "April Fools!" The group then erupted in laughter (a few even applauded), and Rebel took to Twitter to joke about her prank after it all went down. "Tragic accident on the set of Pitch Perfect 3!" she wrote alongside a photo of her lying on the ground with a bloody leg. "Happy April Fools Pitches x." Anna Kendrick also seemed to joke about it on Twitter, writing, "Ah, April Fools. A day of knowing that if you are actually injured, no one will help you. #SafetyFirst #Worrier."

Before You Fall in Love With This Bride's Boho Gown, You Need to See Her Other Dress

Fans of Arielle Charnas, aka Something Navy, know her former assistant Jane Kim is her BFF and fashion sidekick. So when Jane got married in Palm Springs, CA, Arielle was right beside her to document the big day. The weekend celebration kicked off with a rehearsal dinner, where Jane wore a gorgeous satin pink dress with floral embroidery. The Marchesa number hugged her petite frame, and the pleating gave the dress a couture feel. Jane even coordinated with a matching blush clutch.

Though the dinner look was quite fancy, on the day of her actual wedding, Jane chose a softer, more romantic dress. The bride walked down the aisle in a lace gown that seemed both light and airy in the desert heat. Channeling those boho vibes, Jane completed her look with a floral crown and later took off her heels to dance barefoot. We're lucky Arielle was on hand to snap photos of Jane on her wedding day, because it was literally Pinterest goals. Scroll on to take a look, then search for your own boho wedding gown.

Once You See These Kardashian Weddings, You'll Want to Start Planning Your Own

As we all know, nobody throws a wedding like a Kardashian (except for maybe the royals). Khloé Kardashian famously tied the knot with former Lakers player Lamar Odom after one month of dating in 2009, while Kim's wedding to Atlanta Hawks forward Kris Humphries in 2011 included a 196-foot-long custom white runner and three dress changes. Still, nothing quite compares to Kim and Kanye West's extravagant fete that spanned two cities and two days. With wedding season in full swing, take a walk down memory lane and look back at all the Kardashian family weddings.

Kate Mara Won't Be Wearing This 1 Type of Wedding Dress

With Kate Mara's wedding on the horizon, we all naturally have one major question on our minds: what will her dress look like? Feminine and tailored? Classic with an edge? Though these remain up in the air for now, we do know the one trend Mara won't be succumbing to for her nuptials: boho chic.

The actress, who is engaged to Jamie Bell, just revealed a few clues about her wedding dress, and now our curiosity is at an all-time high. At a launch event for Victoria Beckham's Target collaboration, the bride-to-be casually told People that although her dress situation is "not totally done yet," it's "taken care of" thanks to a little help from stylist Johnny Wujek, who has made things "very easy" for her.

When asked if her gown would have the ever-so-popular boho vibe, Mara simply told People "no," with Wujek quickly adding that the dress was "noho." Although the actress has been pretty mum about the designer of her wedding dress, it looks like she's had an idea about who she wanted to work with for quite some time now. John Cena Has Known He Wanted to Marry Nikki Bella For "a Long, Long Time"

Fresh off of John Cena's sweet surprise proposal to Nikki Bella in the ring at WrestleMania 33, the elated couple stopped by the Today show to discuss their romance. After revealing to Al Roker, Sheinelle Jones, and guest host Gina Rodriguez that he'd been planning the moment for "a long, long time," the kindhearted WWE star told them a swoon-worthy story. "She has been by my side through a lot of surgeries. I know when they put you under anesthesia, you have 20 minutes when you're out of it but you can talk and you don't remember what's going on," he explained, with Nikki mentioning that it's like "truth serum." "When they put her under, I made sure to be the last one to wheel her into the O.R. At the moment of no return, I stopped the doctors and I asked, 'Can you hear me?' 'Yes.' 'I have one question for you,'" he recalled. "'What?' 'You know someday I'm going to marry you?'"

John and Nikki have been going strong since 2012, and the way he popped the question was a dream come true for the Total Divas star. "I never would have thought that he would have proposed in front of all those people. But that's home for us," she said. "WWE is our home. It's where we met. It's our passion and our life. For me, it's like, he is my Prince Charming. And he's saying, I want her to be my queen, at our home in front of our family. And honestly, I couldn't have asked for it to be any other way. It was perfect."

In the past, the Trainwreck actor has mentioned that marriage is not for him. That is, until he met Nikki. "I found the right person. I found a strong person that I consider an inspiration," he confessed. "An equal. Someone when I'm down, can pick me up. It took a person that strong to change my life." There has been no shortage of cute moments between the pair over the last few years, so we can't wait to see where this new step takes them.

Why a Flight Attendant Asked a Mom With a Screaming Baby to Move

One mom was pretty much living the fear of every parent who has ever traveled alone with kids on a recent Southwest flight. She was with her two young girls when according to a neighbor sitting nearby, her baby burst into a major meltdown. No matter what the mom did, she just couldn't console her baby or put an end to the "very loud" crying fit.

Carrie Jaboor was seated behind the mom and watched as an airline employee walked up to the mom and asked calmly asked her to come to the back of the plane. However when she turned around, the exchange was the complete opposite of what she expected. "I looked back and saw him blowing bubbles for the little girl until she stopped crying as he was also giving tissues to the mother and consoling her as she was crying too," Carrie shared with the Love What Matters Facebook page. "There are some seriously kind people in this world."

Although some could have been more than a bit annoyed by the child's crying, this kind flight attendant didn't blame the mom and instead showed compassion to both the parent and her child.

Get All Up In the Female Badassery of Netflix's Girlboss

Looking for your next Netflix binge? It's time you get the scoop on the adaptation of Girlboss, the true story of Sophia Amoruso. The show won't be here until later this month, but there's already a trailer and one hell of a cast. (RuPaul!) Even if you're still only halfway through 13 Reasons Why, take a look at your next obsession. Let's go over the major details.

1. The Story

Based on 2015's compelling memoir of the same name, this show will tell of the Nasty Gal founder's rise to wild success. It starts with Amoruso's troubling past, which was filled with hitchhiking, petty theft, and even dumpster diving. All it took was one idea to catapult her through a 10-year journey to her title as founder and executive chairman of her global brand.

2. The Major Players

The most prominent member of the small cast, of course, is the woman playing Amoruso. Britt Robertson, whom you may recognize from Tomorrowland and The Longest Ride, will be taking on the part. Robertson will be joined by Ellie Reed, Alphonso McAuley, and Johnny Simmons. Also: freakin' RuPaul.

4. The Premiere

The first season of Girlboss will be available April 21.

Grandma Accidentally Knits an NSFW Shark Blanket For Her Grandson

When Grandma makes a shark blanket

Although it's stereotypical and cliché, many grandmas are known for their superb knitting skills. However, one well-intentioned grandmother had a bit of a "whoopsie" when it came to her latest knitting project for her grandson: a NSFW shark blanket.

On the heels of the mermaid tail blanket craze it seems that this grandma went for a similar design, but instead of a mermaid tail she designed a shark tail for the bottom, a shark head as the opening, and a shark fin - obviously a necessary part of a shark's anatomy - which resembled something slightly different because of where it falls when the child is wearing the blanket.

The kid's face in the photo really says it all. Oh well, grandma did her best, right?

Toddler Shuts Down a Cashier Who Told Her to Pick Out a "Different" Doll

After Sophia successfully pooped on the potty for an entire month, she was allowed to pick out a special prize. Not surprising to her parents, Brandi and Nick, Sophia wanted a new doll.

As her mom explained, "the obsession is real" when it comes to dolls for this little girl, but a cashier at the store threatened to ruin her excitement - simply because of the color of her new toy's skin. While Sophia and Brandi were checking out, the employee asked the toddler if she was going to a birthday party. Both the mom and daughter gave the woman a blank stare. She then asked if Sophia picked the doll out for a friend.

"Sophia continued to stare blankly and I let the cashier know that she was a prize for Sophia being fully potty trained," Brandi shared on the Love What Matters Facebook page. "The woman gave me a puzzled look and turned to Sophia and asked, 'Are you sure this is the doll you want, honey?'"

Sophia found her voice and replied, "Yes, please!" but the woman still didn't back down. "But she doesn't look like you. We have lots of other dolls that look more like you," the cashier said, according to Brandi.

Brandi immediately became angry, but before she could say anything, Sophia began explaining all of the ways her and her new doll are alike. "Yes, she does. She's a doctor like I'm a doctor. And I'm a pretty girl and she's a pretty girl. See her pretty hair? And see her stethoscope?" Sophia told the stranger.

The cashier finally dropped the conversation, but the unexpected exchange had a lasting impact on this mom. "This experience just confirmed my belief that we aren't born with the idea that color matters," she wrote. "Skin comes in different colors just like hair and eyes, and every shade is beautiful."

This Jewelry Brand Is Making Female Empowerment Part of Its Mission - and We're Here For It

Lately, women are buying jewelry with something more than just style in mind. The topic of gender equality has shifted more and more into the mainstream, and this shift is influencing so many aspects of the fashion industry (for the better!) as well. Feminism and female empowerment are impacting what women are choosing to purchase and wear - for all the right reasons.

When I attended the grand opening of the newest Pandora jewelry crafting facility in Lamphun, Thailand, this month, I went into the experience expecting to hear mainly about the technical and artistic aspects of handcrafting jewelry - which we did indeed get a taste of. What I didn't expect was that I would be spending several days surrounded by so many people from all over the entire world who placed such importance on female individuality and empowerment, and who want to see this sentiment reflected in what we're wearing.

Jewelry serves a wonderful purpose in allowing women to celebrate themselves and other women.

Pandora has green, socially conscious, and ethical jewelry and manufacturing processes at the company - which is essential. Still, it's the "Do" campaign that really stood out to me. "Do" aims to inspire women to "be true to themselves and what they believe in" and sends a message with a heartfelt intent that was truly tangible. The Spring/Summer 2017 collection has such a vast array of unique designs - from colorful yet delicate bangle bracelets in blues, lavender, greens, and pinks - to pieces with symbols of significance that make for special keepsakes. Even I - a self-proclaimed jewelry minimalist - was won over by the pieces in the diverse collection (wearing my daisy ear jacket earrings and blue bangles at the moment).

CEO of Pandora Anders Colding Fries explained how the quest for gender equality has influenced the design direction of the jewelry. "The way that women choose to wear our jewelry is three things: one is to remind themselves of great things which have happened in past, to show who they are today, and also to express their dreams about the future," he said.

Gone are the antiquated days when women would have to wait for men to buy them something special; instead, we know that we can express ourselves through what items we choose, and the items we choose for the women in our lives we love. Minna Philipson, the chief marketing officer of the company, said that jewelry "serves a wonderful purpose" in allowing women to celebrate themselves and other women, and the same can be said of women's fashion in general - and we couldn't agree more.

Kim Kardashian Basically Rewore Her Wedding Dress

Kim Kardashian attended the Daily Front Row's third annual fashion awards in LA in a dramatic white gown that reminded us of the famous wedding dress she wore in 2014. Kim Kardashian's marriage to rapper Kanye West was one of the most-talked-about events with millions tuning in to watch her walk down the aisle in a custom Givenchy wedding dress designed by her close friend and then-creative director Riccardo Tisci.

The sheer gown she wore to the Daily Front Row Awards was also designed by Givenchy Haute Couture and featured delicate embroidery. The embellished dress features a bodysuit underneath, and Kim styled it with beige peep-toe heels. Besides Givenchy, what's another thing that Kim has an affinity for? Sheer gowns like the Cavalli one she wore to the 2015 Met Gala. Have a look at the similarities between the gowns below to decide for yourself.

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez Are Already Wearing Matching Outfits!

Their romance might be brand new, but Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are already so connected to each other, they are dressing alike. The Puerto Rican singer and Dominican former baseball player stepped out for a meal in New York City on a rainy day wearing matching beige looks.

Wearing a wool mid-length coat with a popped collar over a long-sleeve dress featuring a butterfly print and sporting one of her favorite Christian Louboutin leather structured bags, J Lo balanced on her superhigh hunter-green stilettos while holding on to A Rod's arm, while he wore a Spring-ready suit and suede shoes. Honestly, could they look more like Hollywood royalty together? Scroll ahead to see more photos of their outing.

Yep, the Meme Eye Makeup Trend Is as Ridiculous as It Sounds

The latest eye makeup trend is drawing inspiration from ubiquitous viral memes from Salt Bae to Kim Kardashian's famous crying face and a whole lot of Kermit the Frog. While makeup artists and bloggers with larger followings quickly hopped on the trend, more social media users are now trying it out to hilarious results. This trend definitely isn't for beginners, however, as many of the looks manage to fit complex characters and scenes all onto the relatively small size of an eyelid. Ahead, we've listed some of the internet's finest examples.

Mom Sheds Heartbreaking Light on What It's Like to Have a Nonverbal Child

"I am still waiting to hear my almost-3-year-old say 'Mommy" and 'I love you,'" writes Kristina Jermain. "I hope no parent takes these simple words and phrases for granted." The mom shared an honest and heartbreaking look at what raising a nonverbal child on the autism spectrum looks like on Frank Somerville's Facebook page in honor of World Autism Day.

Caroline is almost 3 years old and has yet to say her first words, but she knows what she wants to say, which is a constant source of frustration for both her and Kristina. "She knows what she wants to communicate, but she just can't," Kristina wrote. "It results in many meltdowns."

Kristina continues her post, touching on what daily life is like with a child who can't communicate even her most basic needs.

She can't tell me when she feels sick, or why she's sad, or what's frustrating her. I am also still waiting for her to have a friend. While almost every mom friend I have is accepting of Caroline and includes her in her own child's birthdays or play dates, Caroline herself has not made any real connections with children her age.

I also really appreciate people treating her as normally as possible, but it is hard to explain that sometimes exceptions have to be made for her behavior. She doesn't ever act out to be malicious - it is, rather, out of frustration with her inability to communicate. When people don't understand this they sometimes ask, "What is wrong with your child?" It's heartbreaking.

Kristina also shared some of the sacrifices her family has had to make, such as hours of therapy per week that isn't covered by their insurance and the fact that they are house-bound during those hours, which she says is "very lonely and isolating."

However, this mom wants to stress that she doesn't see Caroline's limitations as negative. "Although our family faces many challenges, there is no other child I would want as my own," she wrote. "Caroline put me into my favorite, most important role in life: motherhood. I have never been so happy, so in love, and so rewarded."

The mom's heartfelt post ends in a message to all other parents with children on the autistic spectrum: "I want all parents of autistic children out there, who may be hopeless, to know that there is hope. I am confident she will speak someday soon. I am confident she will have a friend. I am confident she will continue to be successful. And I am confident that I will always be proud of her."

33 Bralettes For Every Type of Girl

Let's get one thing straight: a bralette is for showing off. It's not a push-up bra that gives you a boost, and it's not a crop top that bares just a hint of your midriff. A bralette hits you somewhere in the center of your torso. And while it should make you feel sexy - since you are showing skin - it should also speak to your own personal style.

If you thought bralettes were only for the bold style stars on your Instagram feed, think again. Whether you're feminine and somewhat modest or you consider yourself a total tomboy, there's a design that'll fit right into your wardrobe. Scroll to shop for one that looks just right or jump right to the category that describes you.

7 Young LGBTQ Stars Explain the Importance of Transgender Visibility Day

March 31 marked the Transgender Day of Visibility, a day where we show support and love for the transgender community around the globe. The day also marked the GLAAD Rising Star Luncheon in Beverly Hills, where some of the brightest young names in the LGBTQ community received honors for their work in LGBTQ advocacy and activism just ahead of the GLAAD Media Awards this weekend. POPSUGAR was on the red carpet for the event on Friday and seized the opportunity to celebrate both occasions accordingly. On the red carpet, we asked stars like Troye Sivan and Hannah Hart why transgender visibility is so important. See what they - and others! - said ahead.
