Dascha Polanco's Trendy Hairstyle at the OINTB Premiere Is One You Can Rock, Too

Dascha Polanco didn't hold back on the red carpet at the season four premiere of Orange Is the New Black. The actress, who plays Dayanara Diaz on the hit Netflix show, wore one of the trendiest hairstyles around: the gold leaf look. Her hairstylist, Cynthia Alvarez, partnered with Dove to craft the sleek pulled-back style with hints of gold - and it's actually super easy to re-create at home. Cynthia started by applying the Regenerative Nourishment Serum in Oil ($6) to Dascha's wet strands from the roots all the way to the ends to create maximum shine, while simultaneously taming pesky frizz. She then went in with her hair dryer, working with small sections at a time until fully dry before going over the bottom portions with a flat iron. Getting into the updo, Cynthia aligned Dascha's deep side part with her brow arch for a superflattering effect, pulling the hair back into a low ponytail, securing it, and wrapping a piece of hair around the base.

For the trendy effect, Cynthia applied a small amount of gel where she planned to apply gold foil (at the part and on the base of the ponytail). Using a bobby pin like tongs, she grabbed small pieces of foil and began the application process, choosing wisely where she wanted to place them for optimal leafy-ness. Once finished, she set the entire look with a generous spritz of Style + Care Flexible Hold Hairspray ($5). And that's it! All Dascha needed to do is work it, and oh did she do that!
