WHOA - This New Pinterest Feature Could Be a Game Changer
Pinterest has introduced new shopping features today, including a very cool new way to shop using your camera phone. First, a new visual search tool with "real-time object recognition" is launching today that allows you to shop products in a pin image. Just tap on the icon in the top right corner of the pin and you'll find similar items you can buy below it.
But what takes it to the next level is the camera search technology they gave us a preview of. It will allow you to snap a photo of something with your phone and then shop the products from your own image. Slated to be released in a few months, this new tool could be a game changer. How many times have you seen someone wearing a cute pair of shoes or a purse and you're just dying to know where they got it? The future is now, people.
Keep reading to see how the visual search tool works, which will be very similar to how the camera feature will function.
