You'll Fall Hard For Angelina Jolie's Sexy Spring Style in This Film

By the Sea is not easy to sit through - at least not with a smile on your face. Written and directed by Angelina Jolie, the movie was released last year and stars none other than Angelina and Brad Pitt. But while the story is sad, the fashion is not. In fact, I couldn't tear my eyes away from the screen as Angelina - who's also one of my style icons - slipped into pleated midis, pussy-bow blouses, and leather flats, accessorizing with sunhats, oversize shades, and usually a cigarette or a glass of white wine.

Within the first few minutes of the film, she stomps onto the pebbled sand in her leopard heels, causing Brad's character, Roland, to murmur, "Might want to take your heels off, honey." It's little moments like this - or when Roland fixes his wife's sunglasses that have been carelessly tossed on a side table - that make By the Sea special for its style. As I watched, I decided to tweak my Spring wardrobe to look just like Vanessa's.

Angelina's character moves effortlessly. She wears silhouettes that are loose but drape beautifully to highlight her best assets. Her pieces, many of them long robes finished with lace, are made of chiffon or silk - and they're all on trend for the season.
