These Models Are Shining a Light on Body Diversity In Fashion, Starting With a Powerful Photo Shoot
While stunning ad campaigns are far from rare, ones that make us stop and say "wow" are - and the images released by the All Woman Project definitely caused that reaction. Models of all sizes, shapes, and ethnicities came together to pose for the ads, which focuses on body diversity in fashion. Leading the dynamic pack? None other than Charli Howard, the British model who was considered too curvaceous at size 2, as well as Clementine Desseaux, a body-positive model and blogger. Both ladies are known for speaking out about the lack of diversity in the industry.
"We want all young girls to look at fashion images and see their body shape or ethnicity represented something that most of us starring in the video didn't feel like we had growing up," Clementine said in a press release.
In the #IAmAllWoman photo shoot, you'll also recognize familiar faces Denise Bidot and Iskra Lawrence, aka two top models who celebrate their curves. They appear at ease and comfortable in front of the camera alongside the other women, leading to beautifully shot - and unretouched - photos. The inclusive group resembles that of our closest girlfriends, just casually sharing candid moments on camera.
"We may be models, but we all have cellulite, stretch marks and other flaws that make us women, but which society teaches us to be ashamed of," said Clementine. "This campaign is designed to unify women around the globe."
Read on to see all the powerful images from the photo shoot. These models are paving the road for body diversity on and off the runway.
