Netflix Pulls a Beyoncé, Announces a New Cloverfield Movie Will Air After the Super Bowl

Let's all take a minute to appreciate how awesome Netflix is: not only is it bringing us another Cloverfield movie, but it's bringing it to us tonight. That's right - immediately after the Super Bowl, the third chapter in J.J. Abrams's sci-fi franchise, the Julius Onah-directed The Cloverfield Paradox, will hit the streaming network. Oh, and it has an incredible cast including Daniel Brühl, Elizabeth Debicki, Aksel Hennie, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Chris O'Dowd, David Oyelowo, and more.

Does it get any better? The move is a groundbreaking one as far as movie studios are concerned and completely unprecedented. When was the last time you watched a movie on the very same day the trailer was first released?

And speaking of the trailer, it looks certifiably creepy. In an Alien-like move, it looks like the film is set 10 years after the first monster devastated NYC in 2008's Cloverfield (and presumably after the sequel, 2016's 10 Cloverfield Lane) and is set on a space station. The team of astronauts aboard the ship will find out where, exactly, that monster came from as they fight for survival. Watch the trailer above to gear up for the film to start streaming!
