Watching Team France Glide Across the Ice to Beethoven Will Make You Feel Otherworldly

You could have heard a pin drop as Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron performed their free skate at the Olympics on Feb. 19 - it was that captivating. Watching the pair float across the ice made it apparent why they are considered one of the top couples competing in ice dancing today.
Skating to Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" (Op. 27, No. 2), the sublime routine felt airy, light, and graceful and despite the quiet restraint that Gabriella and Guillaume exhibited, it was filled with powerful lifts and incredible spins, and twizzles. The pair skated strong and with so much confidence, it seemed like the previous night's wardrobe malfunction never even happened. The judges agreed, awarding the pair a score of 123.35; the highest score they've ever received for a free dance in their career. While the Olympic program is not yet available, you can watch their performance of the same routine from the 2018 European Figure Skating Championships, held this January.
