You Won't Hear Ed Sheeran's "End Game" Verse the Same Way After Learning This

Taylor Swift isn't the only singer who makes subtle references to her love life in lyrics. While her hit song "End Game" with Ed Sheeran and Future is widely speculated to be about her boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, it seems like Sheeran also gave his fiancée, Cherry Seaborn, a shout-out on the track. In a behind-the-scenes clip from the set of the music video, Swift adorably presses her longtime friend about the Fourth of July line that makes her "really happy."

Not only is it a play on words with Tom Cruise's film Born on the Fourth of July, but it also references when his relationship with Seaborn first began. As the singer explains, he was at Swift's infamous holiday bash when he found out Seaborn was in Rhode Island as well. After getting Swift's blessing to have her attend the party, the two hit it off from there.

His final verse on the song could even suggest he was already planning on proposing as he sings, "This end game is the one / With four words on the tip of my tongue." You know what phrase has four words? "Will you marry me?" Aww!
